This man is saying the pure truth and I don't know why people always stay away from truth and keep dwelling in lies. According to the history then we learnt dat Oduduwa came to Ile-ife and met some people already living in the land so how manage the stranger is now the son of the soil? Except if what we red then wasn't true and which Oni of Ife testified to it in one of his statement that when they first come to IFE but claimed that they were not human being like the life of OBATALA OGUN etc which we all know they were all human so I stand here to be corrected only from those who really want to say the truth.

The truth hurts people who are not genuine, but it is always appealing to people with clean spirit. Observe that any man or woman who stands by the truth is only protecting life.
I respect and salute you for your comment here. I know the yorubas will want to destroy you for this, and I also know that you will prevail.
They are only making our history sound implausible, but we can correct it.

A good aspect of the story is that the Olugbo did not deny the fact that his great great grand father was defeated by a man from other land(Mecca) who took over the palace in Ife. Africans should embrace researches to set records straight.

I am Adebiyi of Igbole Ekiti. My family and I have been called Yoruba "Omo Oodua" for as long as I can remember and for as long as Yoruba can remember. Yoruba has a very rich language in the mouth of Adebiyi; along with a very deep history. He has brothers to the left and has brothers to the right and he knows who they are.
Today, Yoruba has grown to old to remember who he is. He is very forgetful and gets things confused sometimes. He can't remember where he came from or how he is related to his brothers on the left and the brothers on the right. He staggers and stumbles even in the day time; as if it were night. He mumbles all sort of conflicting stories that confuse his children. He is no different from a sleep talker.
    Adebiyi says;
"Who will help Yoruba remember? The children want to know. We are a big tree with no clear root. Our leaves are green and our trunk is wide, but the trunk is hollow. We are loud at the knocking of the tree trunk; a perfect talking drum because we are empty."
If we don't ask Yoruba, he will die with everything he can remember. If we don't ask a question, we will not get an answer.
    WHO IS YORUBA?
    WHAT IS YORUBA?
    WHAT IS YORUBA'S TRUE STORY?

This man is right.one who believes in intellectual honesty is characterised by readiness to scrutinised what one believed to b true and kindly pay attention to other evidence available.any body in ife can contest for the post ooni but history proved that obaship is from father to son.ife have lost their kingship.

This is a powerful arguments. kutukutu was an ooni or leader of all at that time, he never gave up his throne, but remains a king of ugboland he just founded. I want more history about this. kutukutu is a pure descendant of Oranfe.

I know that some yorubas know the truth and are willing to be honest about it. Ikaladeran Izoduwa Owodo is the man they call Oduduwa or Oodua. He is not a mistic or myth figure like yoruba history described him. He was the exiled prince from Benin.

No matter what some yoruba say concerning the olugbo of ugbo, there is an element of truth in what he is saying because of so many version of the origin of oduduwa. Why will the same yoruba people not have a concrete history of oduduwa. Why having different historical version of the origin of oduduwa. This let us know that oduduwa is indeed a stranger. Moreover if oduduwa is a yoruba name while change it to Oodua. What is the connection between oduduwa and Oodua.

Although this Ugbo king is not 50% right but he threw some light to the origin of Yorubas. On many occasions, I have argued with my Yoruba uncles, seniors, brothers, colleagues etc, that Oduduwa was not the originating founder of the Yorubas. Oduduwa the son of Lamurudu was a warrior immigrant from a town in Saudi Arabia. After the assassination of his father Lamurudu by the Islamic Jihadists, Oduduwa & his two brothers, their extended families, followers and multi- thousand warriors ran to save their lives and travelled down south to resettle. He migrated to Ile-Ife with multi- thousands of his followers and was hosted by the Arole of Orunmila named Agboniregun. He decided to settle down in Ile-Ife and later became Agboniregun's son in law by marrying Agboniregun's first daughter. The other two brothers of Oduduwa are Gogobiri & Kukawa decided to settle down with their followers in Kano, Katsina and Ukari in the northern Nigeria while Oduduwa continue his journey down to Ile-Ife. The yorubas have been in existence thousands of years before Oduduwa migrated to Ile-Ile from Saudi Arabia. Likewise Edo Benin known as Benin City has also been in existence before Oduduwa’s invasion. After his settlement at Ile Ife he later waged war against Benin and after conquered, installed his eldest grandson Akinshuwa (now known as Akinzuha) as the King of Benin city. The history of the Yoruba has been messed up by the old historical scholars especially the Ph D holders, early politicians, missionaries and early white settlers. Young Yorubas who are interested to know the origins of the Yorubas and not the origin of Oduduwa can go and get a copy of “Asa ati Orisa Ile Yoruba by Olu Daramola & Jeje”. This book can give them some insight & logical information about the origins of Yoruba.)
To be candid & factual, it is very important for all Yorubas to know that they (i.e. the Yorubas) have been in existence before Oduduwa came from Saudi Arabia. And it is also important & necessary for the Yorubas to appreciate the incredible and great work done by the great Oduduwa and his descendant families. The great work which includes the foundation of Yoruba Kingdom, centralization of governance & administration, civilization, customization, structural developments, massive territorial expansion & viable territorial security etc. It is noted that previously before Oduduwa came, we had Songhai, Mali & Ghana Empires but as a prince, he founded & established a Kingdom & not an
    empire.
Lastly, I will comment only on two of the issues raised by Oba Olugbo that is (1) he is the true Oni of Ife: It may be true because Oni of Ife was one of the kingship titles that come to creation during the British/Queen administrations (during Aiye daiye Oyinbo era). And (2) that someone cannot be crown as the King (Oba) when his father is still alive. This statement was a complete lie & total fallacy because both Oduduwa & Olofin (known as Okanbi) were still alive when Oduduwa’s grandchildren were made kings.

You claim the benin came from ile ife,
An sure the question to the yorobas
      Where does oduduwa come from?
What does oduduwa mean in yoruba.
      Who was his father ?
What evidence are there of his origin?
We know the yorobas as well educated today but dont fool your self and your kids the privilege of knowing the true history of your people by trying to rewrite your history to suit your self.
Before oduduwa the benin had a well organized kingship recorded known as the ogisa ( king from the sky). Which was already hereditary. So the question of hereditary has been solved for the edos.
Was there any hereditary rule of kingship before oduduwa arrival to ife ?
To my understanding he created the kingship hereditary in ife.
Upon oduduwa arival to ife Your history recorded an oracle foresaw the arrival of a stranger who will lead the people who became know as ile ife.
Benin believe oduduwa changes his name to izoduwa on arrival to ife after been accepted and welcome to bw one of them.
Izoduwa in benin mean ( i have chosen the part of greatness)
Yoruba also claimed he came from the sky. Which to my understanding the ife may have misinterpreted him saying his father was the ogiso which translate him been the prince or king from the sky.
The name ile ife was the new name the yoroba people became know as.
Ile ife in edo mean ( through runing i became rich) which can be argued. a prince runing for his life finding a new settlement and made king explains the new name.
Yorobas claim the edo people known as ( igodomigodo ) came to ife to ask for a king.
But failed to clarify the relationship between the edo and the yorobas.
My question what was the relationship betweenthe ifes and edos. Before oduduwa? Was there any.?
Why would the ife king allow his son to go with strangers to a new kingdom.?
Did oduduwa know the edo elders before?
Its strange , i would believe a wise man like oduduwa would not have allowed his son to go to a none known land.
To conclude a little of vas fact .
The edo (igodomigodo) had a long history of hereditary ruler long before the oduduwa hereditary rule in ife.
Edo who had practice hereditary kings would not have come to ife who had just started their to ask foe guidance except the edo knew oduduwa as the prince that fled for his safety.
History is beautiful but please do not rewrite it to suit you because you see your self superior now.
Today history teaches us of kings and kingdoms that have been lost in time we should be grateful our history and culture still lives.
      We reads about
      The Egyptian.
      The Greek.
      The Roman
      The Vikings
      The British
The French and so on .
Knowing all present day monarch in Europe are related to the English monarch and the true origin of today British queen is from the Vikings who invaded. Which today would also translate the queen of england today is from Denmark because that where his ancestors root heal from .
Yoruba people today i great and educated people but do not rewrite your history to suit you.
Yorobas also fail to understand the reason for their high population was deu to the ending of slave trade which left many captured but now free slaves to settle within the ife land and inter marriage adupted the language.

Ikaladeran did not "change" his name to Izoduwa. Izoduwa was the name his mother actually called him. He gave them that name to avoid being detected and also told them that his father was Ogiso (king of the sky), which made the yoruba believe that he came down from the sky. 😂😂😂 funny but true.

Olugbo is the traitor not Moremi, says Ilaje paramount ruler
    By Olatunde Adeyege
prominent Oba in Ilaje land, His Royal Majesty Oba Afolabi Odidiomo,
the Olu of Igbokoda has described the Olugbo of Ugboland, Oba Fredrick
Akinruntan as the traitor who out of greed, lust for women and inability
to keep secrets, betrayed the his people instead of attributing the act
of treachery to Moremi. He also described as false and misleading the
claim of Oba Akinruntan that he is the legitimate Ooni of Ile-Ife
    “If
he is the Ooni, let him go to Ilfe ife and occupy the throne. He should
go their and chase the people away”, Oba Odidiomo said. Both Oba
Akinruntan and Oba Odidi occupy exalted royal seats in Ilaje. He advised
traditional rulers to watch what they say adding that at the moment,
the place of the Ooni in Yoruba and world history cannot be rubbished by
    anyone.
The intervention of Oba Odidiomo is the most
profound coming from any prominent Oba in Ondo State where the Olugbo
comes from. He spoke with Irohinoodua in an exclusive interview today.
    Oba
Odidiomo said the revelations of the prowess and sacred powers of the
Ugbo people to Moremi by the Olugbo was the height treachery against
sacred culture and norms of the Ugbo people which eventually led to the
    defeat of the Ugbo.
    “We must understand the dialectics
of history. Moremi had a mission to liberate his people. The Olugbo out
of his greed for women fell in love with her. He went ahead to reveal
the secrets of his people which was the height of betrayal. In Yoruba
culture, it is sacrilegious to reveal the secrets of the Oro to women,
but that was exactly what the Olugbo did. He therefore betrayed his
people. It was that betrayal by the Olugbo that led to the escape of a
sophisticated spy who had conducted espionage on the enemies of his
people. She left all the lucre and wealth she was offered by Ugbo to
return to her fatherland and even painfully sacrificed her only son as
    promised’, the Oba said.
    The raging controversy over the
role of Moremi in Yoruba history snowballed into another storm: Who is
    the supreme Oba in Yorubaland?
    Oba Odidiomo faulted the
claim of the Olugbo as the ‘real Ooni” saying that his accounts were
full of inaccuracies and incorrect claims.
    He said the
title of the current Olugbo is “Obamakin” which negates the primacy of
“Orunmakin” adding that for the Olugbo to bear the title “Osangangan”
shows that the title came after the original accolade of “kutukutu”
which indicated the earliest of royal tradition. He said since the
Olugbo admitted that there were 13 automous Kingdoms at Ile-Ife at the
time, it was wrong for the Olugbo to lay claim to being the paramout
ruler when at the time there was no supreme community at Ife.
    He
said the argument of the Olugbo was partly informed by his lack of
understanding of the fact that there were two epochs in Ife history,
being Ife Odeaye and Ife Ooye. He said Olugbo seems to be referring to a
period before the title Ooni was adopted at Ile Ife.
    Oba
Odidi, the paramount ruler and prescribed authority of Igbokoda Ilaje
Kingdom declared that it was the Olugbo, who was a traitor and not
    Moremi.
The Olugbo had earlier carpeted the Ooni of Ife,
His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, for
honouring Moremi Ajasoro as a heroine and subsequently declared that he
was the original head of the early Ife Kingdom before the arrival of
Oduduwa and therefore, the rightful owner of the Ooni title.
    Oba
Ogunwusi recently built a tower, described as the third highest in
Africa, in memory of Moremi Ajasoro, a wife of Ooni Oranyan who
sacrificed herself and her only child in exchange for freedom for her
    people.
Oba Odidiomo argued that it was Olugbo who
actually gave out his own people by revealing the age-long tradition and
secrets of his own kingdom and people to a beautiful woman, out of
    greed and covetousness.
    According to the Igbokoda
monarch, the Ugbo raid on Ile-Ife which he claimed was masterminded by
the Olugbo was essentially to steal goods of Ife traders on market days
so as to have things to feed on.
    “The Ugbo information
he gave out was a sacrilege. It was Olugbo that betrayed his people
through the classified information he divulged”, he said.
    Oba
Odidiomo who queried Olugbo’s claim to supremacy disclosed that the
original title of the real Olugbo was ‘Kutukutu’ and not ‘Osangangan’,
adding that the latter was junior to the former.
    “If
Olugbo said that there were 13 autonomous kingdoms in Ife at the time,
was Olugbo playing supervisory role over them?, he queried.
The Olu of Igbokoda observed that the Olugbo could not distinguish between Ife Oodaye and Ife Ooye.
    Kutukutu
Orunmakin, he argued, meant “Heaven knows the brave” while Osangangan
Obamakin - king knows the brave - was a latter day king adding that
Olufe was the head of Ife Oodaye and not Olugbo.
    Oba
Odidiomo said Igbokoda came from Mahin which is led by the most
respected Royal Oba Alametu of Mahin Kingdom. He said they all came from
Ora Quarters in Ile-Ife several centuries ago.

Now, responsible yoruba people are asking the right questions. I hope I get to see records get straightened in my days.
All yoruba history out there is not only contradictory but also confusing, especially when Oduduwa, Oronmiyan, or Olowo of Owo is mentioned. But when you take the Benin account, it is very straightforward with great clarity.

The man is right, the deception has got to end..Oduduwa is a Benin man..That is how come the Benin people sent for him to come back only for him to send his son/grandson Oranmiyan to Benin to start the Eweka dynasty..Oranmiyan;s coming to Benin is the clear explanation that Oduduwa is from Benin..And btw Oduduwa is even a Benin word which means I have come to redeem you..The myth that Oduduwa is the progenitor of yorubas is false..When Oduduwa arrived Ife he met a settlement there..It was only because Oduduwa was a prince in Benin that he was able to dazzle the people with his knowledge of magic, science, and the art of political governance that the people accepted him and crowned him their king and said he came from the sky..Indeed Oduduwa was an Ogiso in Benin, which means sky king..If there is anyone who knows the history of Benin and Ife and doubts that Oduduwa is from Benin that person needs his head examined..Truth is the Benin people knew all along that the Oduduwa thing was a charade but it wasnt untill the last Oba of Benin mentioned it in his book did it become official and public knowledge.

😂😂. Where is the evidence of all the nonsense you're saying. I will school you now.
I will start with ekaladerhan/izoduwa fiction. It was never known to benin until 1970s when chief omoregie stated that ekaladerhan whose story as written by egharevba and collected in the 1890s stated he died in ughatan(I have proof for all this just ask me so you can read😁). Now that ekaladerhan became oranmiyan and when are ba erediauwa was to write his book wrote that ekaladerhan was now oduduwa father of oranmiyan. It was obvious that because of politics of superiority and uniqueness what all have always known to be that ornamiyan from ife founded benin which egharevba wrote and which a lot of europeans collected from benin itself was subverted and changed in the 1970s.
Now to Oduduwa. Oduduwa is absolutely not a corruption, you can't just make assertions that are untrue. Oduduwa means odu to da uwa (the source or repository of existence). Moreover in benin, ugie oduduwa is celebrated and known not ugie izoduwa or ugie ekaladerhan. According to oral tradiotons he's from oke ora Hill a settlement just outside of ife. He cane to ife and fought of obatala and united ife into a kingdom. No tradition in ife has oduduwa from mecca or from benin.
The mecca hypothesis was as a result of sultan Bello of sokoto who gave middle eastern origins to a lot of ethnic groups around the river Niger. This was later atreibuted to oduduwa the patron of the yoruba and ife and popularized in academia. About the heaven hypothesis all heroes of ife at the time were deified as irunnoles who came from heaven. That cabln be said about the ogisos who came from heaven as well. It's a myth to honor them moreoev all humans are from heaven in yoruba spirituality. I'm sure all the other yoruba heroes and deities aren't from benjn as well right? Exactly that's how poor that logic is. Traditions state his human existence began at oke ora hill and then to ife.

Whether the words here are true or false, this history of Oduduwa is a topic that needs much more research. Not necessarily to decide the status of different Obas but to find the true history of the Yorubas which every Yoruba man must want to know. Oduduwa is claimed by so many, Yoruba and non Yoruba. The people that existed in Yoruba land before Oduduwa is another important topic of research. It is possible that these two groups were similar peoples who followed an established migration root to Ile-Ife. Iit is also possible they were totally different groups who in the end assimilated with each other. The accurate history is not to the benefit of Yoruba alone but to the benefit of the West African region and brother tribes that in current history are unknown to the Yoruba!!!!!!

Ok. True students of history know that the Olugbo is actually right. It is not about envy or jealousy or anything of that sort. It is simply that Oduduwa, who was a prince in Igodomigodo (Benin), came to Ile Ife from Igodomigodo (Great Benin Kingdom) after being exiled as a result of a conspiracy that plotted to kill him because of a false testimony. He was the second son of Ogiso Owodo ( Sky king), his name was prince Ekhaladeran. He ran to Ife (west) from Benin (east) and settled in the bush (still in exile hiding). As time past, he was met by the original inhabitant of the land, the people of Ugbo (of whom Olugbo speaks of) who brought him out of the bush to be reverred because he was very strong and had magical powers which allowed him to do alot for the people there. Upon bringing him out of the forest to provide a safe haven for him, he was happy and said "Izoduwa" meaning "I have found the path to my wealth". That name was corrupted to be Oduduwa. Both Benin and Ife record this. The story of Lamurudu from Mecca is frankly bogus and untrue. The fact is Oduduwa cam from the east (Benin) and became crowned King in Ife because he was powerful and impressively mystical. So the Oduduwa referred to today is a son of a Sky King from Benin and Oromiyan his son is the father of Eweka 1 of Benin and also Oromiyan himself, after not being able to stay in Benin, moved to Ife and eventually became Alaafin of Oyo. I have this one question though... Why is it that the Ooni title is not hereditary? Isnt that strange? Benin will never give the throne to anyone but a direct descendant of the King i.e first son. Those who want to insult instead of studying history, go ahead.

Also he dishonestly condemned the celebrationof Moremi as a patriotic heroine by the good people of Ile Ife . My first impression to this untoward outburst was to ask the pertinent questions: (a)who is olugbo to deserve a response? (b)what led to their emigration away from Ile-ife?The controversial Obateru should endeavor to find out.An acclaimed yoruba king, Olugbo of Ugbo,Obateru Akinruntan whose mentality has misled him into distorting history and by extension, ife history. it is disheartening to hear a yoruba Oba being extremely ignorant of the history just like a sectional king in ilaje local government area of ondo state.Without justification, how could somebody in his right senses claim that moremi Ajasoro is not an heroine while the brave woman is regularly celebrated all over for her effort in bringing freedom to the source. In another sense, olugbo, a sectional baale(in real hierarchy) intends to undermine our most revered father, Ooni Adeyeye by ignorantly challenging the monarchial stool of Ooni. How on earth could somebody claim to be more catholic than pope? Obateru is an attention seeker indeed. This man, a conflict maker categorically stated that the Ugbos are the aboriginal settlers and owners of ife! A sharp response to this would trigger ones thought of asking who his father was?As in all yoruba lands, the most important of our sources of ile-ife history are orally transmitted(Biobaku 1992). Thus, we ask Obateru of the pedigree of his father that orally transmitted the history to him?It is on record that Obateru was born 1950into the family of fredrick adetolugbo but unfortunately, his father died 1964 when he was 14 years old. So, it is not too astonishing how he could have gone astray on history as his arrogance could have perhaps engendered elderly curse to accelerate his playing to the gallery.Someone that lacks parental guides and guard should not be scold for saying ooni should not have a father.
how could we assist a man who said that Oduduwa was not part of yoruba? how could we address him when he proclaimed that it was Osangangan Obamakin, son of oranfe that founded ile- ife? how do we start to educate an acclaimed man who lamented that his forefather of his throne descended from heaven, and that is why they were called Ugbo Atorunwo, whose mentality accommodation has been eroded than a man who challenged Oonirisa to confirm his ancestral root?
To set the record straight,i am really not sure of the state of mental affairs of the Obateru Akinrutan else i would have started educating a mediocre. i hereby urge the Olugbo in council to institute a step towards examining the mental psychology of obateru perhaps through psychiatric experts at Aro in Abeokuta of Ogun state. May i urge that you should not see this clarion call as insult but rather an affectionate and passionate call to rescue a fellow.
For the record, i will like to state that certain rebellious group was displaced in ile ife at the dawn of a new era. this displaced group of people eventually settled at iwinrin/igbo igbo, where they became wild and call themselves ugbo. when they were threatened by famine, the began to behave like hawk like bird which goes by the name igbo, well known for his aggressive nature. those who are very close to the elderly persons in yoruba land would have been told that whenever Igbo bird approaches other birds, the latter will disperse for fear of attack. Hence the yoruba maxim that "igbo wonu eye ki eye tuka" meaning the presence of igbo bird disperses other bird. it was this disruptive nature that the refuge group adopted in their attack on ife township in search of what to eat to survive. in an effort to put an end to the incessant raid, a valiantwoman by name moremi Ajasoro, after seeking the consent of her husband who was then the Ooni of ife deployed her diplomatic prowess by given herself up for capturingby the marauding beasts. this tactic of the stunning woman led to their conquest of the men from the bush. those who were captured during the surprise counter attack were given state pardon and resettled within ile-ife township.
From the above, it would seem that someone is turning history upside down to consider as an act of betrayal, the sagacity, valor and intrepidity of moremi Ajasoro. it is important to note that those who were captured and resettled among the igbo invaders could today be found in compounds within iremo quarters of ile- ife. thus, if anyone from anywhere now found it necessary to seek relevance by connecting himself with ile ife, it should not be at the expense of our cherished history.
However, it is very bad for people of riverine area of Ondo state to have had the likes of Obateru Akinruntan as Oba. this is because every traditional ruler in yoruba land necessarily passed through certain process of tutelage before they finally assume the throne of their forefather, this i doubt happened in the case of the incumbent Olugbo. this is affecting his sense of reasoning. it is a bad omen for a supposed Oba to not just think but said openly that Obas dont have biological father, what a poor student of history is this man! on this particular issue, i consider it as a threat of attack on the father of our Ooni who by the special grace of olodumare is still hale and healthy. i would like to seriously warn olugbo to stop forth with such thought. any attempt on the life of prince oluropo ogunwusi-the father of Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi, or any member of his household will be disastrous for him and everything connected to him.
Ogun disapproves threat to life and by himself, is not use to make empty threat. those who are close to fredrick Obateru Akinruntan should speak to him on his listening ears. ife does not and will never allow anyone to smear the sacred Ooni. i think this man has forgotten so quickly that it took the intervention of the late Ooni of ife- Oba Sijuwade Okunade to have him installed some four miles away from his town. it seems he has forgotten too that Ooni Sijuwade Okunade ordered his crown to be removed publicly to the admiration of those in attendance. how ungrateful can this man be for insulting the personality of his benefactor? it is for this, i said earlier that it does not worth it to reply to the ranting of an ungrateful mind.
Sincerely, i will want for say that Akinruntan's vituperation was as a result of his lack of historical facts because it has been established that his forefathers were irresponsible and wayward sons who choose to destroy their father's house. if he traces his dirty steps, better for him, but if he persists, this piece should be considered as an introduction.

It is a shame that the ilefe cannot agree and take into account their true history as concerning Izoduwa and Omonoyan. It is not late for them instilling that fact of Ekaladeran - Izoduwa- Omonoyan on their people and children coming up. They are going to continue living a society completely void of their tangible history and that leaves them daily on false identity.

To Olugbo of Ugbo do you expect Ooni to challenge Oba of benin if what his saying is true or not. The question u need to ask Oba of benin is who is the first King of benin land Eweka who is the father to Eweka Oranmiyan n who is the father to Oranmiyan Oduduwa.
That can be said about the ogisos who came from heaven as well. It's a myth to honor them moreoev all humans are from heaven in yoruba spirituality. I'm not sure all the other yoruba heroes and deities aren't from benjn as well right? Exactly that's how poor that logic is. Traditions state his human existence began at oke ora hill and then to ife he fought off the obatala Faction and united ife and became the first oghone/oone/ooni olofin adimula. Obatala descendants later led a migration to the ugbo area in ondo state and ancestors to olugbo who is a full yoruba king in his own right so no need for all this

I think one thing is sure, the stories all have elements of truth to it, apart from the descent part. That part has no corroboration from many sources. The part that is not denied is the existing fights and factions of several kingdoms all connected. It's unfortunate that we could not write down our histories in the 13/14 hundred. Imagine all that we have lost because we could only tell our ancient history by word of mouth passed from one generation to the other in all its corruptions.

@@jamessmith8049 That's always my pain. The heaven origin is a common one in yoruba culture for not just all deified beings but even normal humans but people in the present might not know this. It's similar to Alexander the great being a son of a god doesn't mean he didn't exist.
But they're obvious lies which can be seen and a good example is the ekaladerhan to oduduwa fiction. When benin tradiotons were first collected ekaladerhan died in ughatan, egharevba benins first historian corroborated this as well.
It wasn't until 1970s just after the mid West Western region split we start to see the whole thing turned on its head

The victors here are the same colored people who came and conquer the Aztecs to nothing. The Aztec kings were believed to be sons of God. You can see the similarity with our own Kings in the kingdoms I hope. The victor were aliens, white skined, have a staff that spits fire out of a small hole and when point and explodes heads in a pool of blood (aramanda oko tin tenu jo bula, loruko ti an pe ibon!). These aliens were victorious over all of Africa, the colonies, and the Commonwealth.
As we lack the know-how to write, we claimed ogun invented or owned guns obviously🤣😂🙃, although earlier all he knew was cutlass to carve the road for the other gods.

the story of lamurudu as the father of oduduwa is completely correct! lamurudu is Nimrod.....Nimrod is black, he is the son of cush who is the son of ham who is the son of Noah.... history told that Noah had three sons. and every history revealed that ham was a black man, infact Shem was too. cush the son of ham was black, infact that is the meaning of the name cush. cush is the father of Nimrod( lamurudu) and lamurudu is the father of oduduwa. when history said Mecca, it doesn't mean The country Saudi Arabia, it referred to that region. I think a Yoruba king is supposed to know better, but he seems to be both ignorant and stubborn at the same time. what a clueless attention seeker!

      PRESS RELEASE
BUT, WHO IS OLUGBO TO DESERVE A RESPONSE?
      OBA OLADAPO OLAFIRANYE
      OBA OSOGUN AGBAYE
      OKEMOGUN
      ILE IFE.
As the custodian and living spirit of ogun (the pace setter among the dieties in yoruba land), i have a responsibility to educate and enlighten individuals and or groups that may want to turn down the history, culture and tradition of the yoruba people. This is because ogun saw it all! It is for this reason that i consider it appropriate to respond to the disparaging statement on aspects of yoruba history credited in this instance to Oba Fredrick Akinrutan Obateru, Olugbo of Ugbo land. The monarch in recent times has embarked on self-delusion with regards to his status and position among the traditional rulers in yoruba land, among other erroneous postulationscoming from the Olugbo' palace.
