@@om-ie8pw Tbh I haven't really started to work on my eyesight yet, I'm trying to get some things in life sorted out so I can spend more time outdoors on natural light and minimize screen time, I can't really make progress when I spend hours and hours in front of screens. But I have definitely learned on myself that my eyesight naturally varies depending on the amount of natural light and depending on how tired my eyes are, if I spent whole day working on computer when I go outside I feel my eyesight is worse and its hard for me to active focus and clear things up. Screens and close up are eyesight killer. Luckily thanks to Jake I learned that eyesight can also get better, and it really does work, I noticed when I spend whole day outdoors, looking far, changing distance, using active focus, I can literally feel improvement in one day, I can feel my eyes relaxing and clearing things up. This is definitely not some fake voodoo stuff but just normal human biology, eyesight can get better but it takes time and consistency, as long as you spend 10 hours per day in front of screens you can't really expect improvements because your eyes are constantly tired and strained. Healthy habits are most important, just like with everything else. But eyes are definitely adaptable are respond to different stimulus. Its really sad that this guy only has 30k subscribers while basically every other person today is shortsighted. It tells you a lot about the world we live. But anyway, Jake is the truth man, no weird fake bs, just pure human biology.

@@om-ie8pw Also I haven't really started reducing diopters or anything, my experience so far is all from wearing my normal prescription glasses all the time, which isn't smart because wearing full prescription in close up is bad, but regardless I noticed my eyesight varying depending on how my day looks like. I hope that soon I can finish some projects and then minimize screen time, so I can focus on outdoors, active focus, and slowly reducing diopters. And of course getting a lot weaker glasses for close up, wearing full prescription for close up is an eyesight killer, its like a turbocharger for straining eyes and worsening myopia.

    • @kkevinj1
      @kkevinj1 2 роки тому

I have found that Todd and Jake are very similar in their approach. Todd says go .5D below optometrist strength for distance. Jake says .25 below 20 20 vison up to 20 50. The main difference is Todd says you can gain from print pushing and distance vision, Jake doesnt agree that print pushing will help much. In the Becker video I watched, Todd didnt say use plus lens. He says use plus when you you cant use negatives anymore because your eyesight has improved so much. I would love to see that as well.

Never cleared blur that I remember, but never been a myope to have to clear blur. Just was always good, nothing to clear for me. Then Im thinking reading glasses lead me to hyperopia pretty quickly. i have the left eye weaker, and with both eyes i can see quite clear, but i carry always the feeling of one eye working much more than the other. to the point..
i am a bus driver and i consider myself a person that ,because of this, lives outdoor most of the time. i am always in search of clear registration plates, signs and so on. some days, my eyes are fatigued and i cannot see very well so i wear glasses, especially at night-time. not very strong, my first glasses since august. 0.75 l, 0.25 r.but, at times i get ah-ah moments, more often with the right one, occasionally with the left. i can see perfectly for a few seconds and then i have to repeat the procedure again, blinking and trying to focus the object/text.
sometimes it happens again quickly, sometimes slowly, at times i' m unable.
what slips me is: how comes that i am not able to realize what i am really doing with my eyes so that i can use the method at will and it happens , say only nearly, by chance? i would like to be able to say intrinsically to myself: to see that text on that sign, just squeeze or move or what else with your eyes , etc.
so far is not happening automatically, but i know that i f i do something specific, like maybe imperceptible, moving the muscles of my eyes forth back or sidewise ( i do not now really, just guessing) i know for certain that my eyes ain't broken, because for seconds at a time i can see a clear world. this drags me forward to try finding what makes possible to implement what i semi-unconsciously am doing to become normal again. there lays the point
one thing for sure: LESS SCREEN TIME, MORE NATURE OUTDOOR. screen time, become a habit through the years, brought my vision down and i am paying the consequences.

I can active focus on the computer but not at a distance. I might be doing it and not noticing. It's easier at a fixed distance with familiar text on a computer. Also seems easier earlier in the day when my lens strength is closer to what I need to use than later in the day when things are a bit too blurry. I see 20/15 or maybe 20/12 in the morning with normalized.

Great video, Jake. I’m looking for a very general answer from anyone here. Can active focus be maintained even after blinking? I’m able to focus in sunlight and see clearly by blinking, but the moment I blink again, it blurs up again. Is there a technique to hold the active focus for longer, or is it like a ‘gradually improve and hold longer’ by getting reduced prescriptions kinda thing?

Good advice for anyone doing close-up work: Set a timer for 20 minutes. When it goes off, look into the distance (hopefully outside or at least 10 metres away) for one minute. Then reset the timer.

@@mdlouie Yeah you are right bro By the way can you tell me how much active focus helped you and in how much time as I am a beginner???

@@sanju3113 It takes time. I was working outside when I started endmyopia, so I was always looking into the distance and my eyes improved without much effort. Now I am inside all day so it is harder. I go for a walk every morning (1.5 hours) and I am improving again. I think Jake is about right when he says 1.00 diopter/year.

active focus is bs for 2 reasons:
1 removing the fovea does not have any effect on myopia development
2 paraylising the ciliary muscle does not have any effect on myopia development
myopic defocus of the peripheral vision is key

But how did you improve eyes?

By relaxing your eyes, he improved by reducing his prescription bit by bit, relaxing the muscles is his eyes in which they are tense it's takes time but you can do it.
Relaxing your eyes and understand what problems you make have is the way do it. I hope this helped.

@@autoturretyt4410 oh.. I recommend learning about what you have, you'll probably find it in the End Myopia Wikipedia.
Do you think it was because of a increase amount of screen time, or Close up work, example: screen time, reading, working for long periods of time, then you might be really up close, Can I recommend someone that might help you...
I think you should take it easy and go outside more, and see if anything changes.
If that's the case then it maybe alot of close up work. I'm not sure, but that maybe the case..
