I had a '97 intrepid which i replaced the engine and forgot to "key" the torque converter into the trans and the torque converter seized into the trans pump locking it in place like yours. Great to see the truck running Mike!

If you pull the Torque converter you change that SOB. It's better to spend the $5 for the seal than it is to have to pull it back out and change it latter.

I've been sitting on my hands, to avoid sounding like I know anything, since the first video that featured this truck. I immediately felt like you would have been well served with either a 352CID Industial or 360CID engine (from experience I can assure you either Ford V-8 will pull the Crack of Dawn open or closed) when attached to a C-6 transmission. The last Ford I trusted came equipped with the 360 and a C-6. After I ran the wheels off of that pickup, I switched over to RAM trucks for getting the job done. I have heard that the 390CID, when attached to the C-6, was a beast of a load and/or tow combination but I've never owned a Ford pickup in that configuration.
Highly recommend you go to the vehicle scrapyard and find and install "New Used RED Cab Seats with storage console" for your truck Mike. Thanks for the vids.
Congratulations Mike Randy and Santa was there ever any doubt that when I told you it’s a work horse it would be I love it and your last transmission was junk short fact when buying a used transmission salvage yards give you the biggest pig in. The pen make them show you the pulled mileage I knew by looking. At it this was going to move your truck just a lot of experience with hem and yeah. I laid on the ground and put these in the same way used to it the bolts in myself was it Santa who did this of you congratulations on the truck
It looks like the previous owner had (not Randy) did a half ass fix with the wrong auto transmission!! WTH? You got a great deal on a good used fully functional transmission that's actually the correct one!! With the trans pan bolts you have to skip around as you tighten them down, then again skip around when applying final torque amounts. I would still look into testing the TFI module for correct operation/voltage/ohms on all six pins. It can be done with a multimeter. The TFI module when failing will mimic a bad fuel pump(s). You all did a great job fixing up the EFF 1 FIFTEEEAHH !!!!!!!!!
I always turn the converter in 3 clicks to fully installed into the pump , you had Said you got 2 good clicks in . I think the pop was the converter popping into the pump on that 3rd click and it not being all the way in is the reason why the rotation was so hard .
I would love to see Mike,, Randy, and Santa do a cheap car challenge. Pick up 3 cars from a court/IAA 1000 miles from home with only a basic set of harbor freight tools and parts from wreaking yards
