I also think that Dooo blew musicians away by doing something that most others with a talkbox seemingly never tried. Dooo proved that it's possible to play whole chords through the device and not just single notes.
I watch reaction videos for multiple reasons. Biggest two is to just hear others opinions and to possibly enjoy something with someone else even if it isn't together or if you even know each other. It's sometimes like watching with a friend. Other reasons is that you can learn something sometimes. Different people have different knowledge of subjects and you might just learn something especially if the reactor has expertise in what he is reacting too
I can see why people think reactors are just "stealing" content. But no, glad to see reactors, it's a way of exploring new things but also sharing with us all new things we may not have seen before.
Peter Frampton (Frampton Comes Alive), Joe Walsh (Rocky Mtn. Way), Bon Jovi, Van Halen, and several others. They all played with the talkbox at some point! My fav from this video was his rendition of Groove Tonight fro Earth Wind and Fire. That chick was so loaded, I don't think she even realized he changed the lyrics up!🤣
This might be 8 months overdue, but I have enjoyed watching you reactions due to your clear knowledge about music and guitaring. I am not musical at all, but I know for sure that The Doo should be filling stadiums... Hearing your perspective on this fucking guy is fun as hell
Minus the guitar technical stuff, you guys had the exact same reaction I did seeing Dooo's latest video. I think it's the first one that has made me laugh until tears while also being amazed!
talkboxes are the closest approximation to sound changing with your mouth for string or other non-orchestral instruments in the same way brass players do with their embouchure. Ive played euphonium and tuba for 12 years and its very much the same in regards to being able to shape the sound with different movements and shapes of your mouth
One of my favorite Dooo videos, glad y'all reacted to it! Also I'm super stoked that he's got a Dance Gavin Dance shirt on, I knew that boy had good taste.
Talkbox. Everything from the guitar goes into a pedal. The pedal has an air tube that goes in your mouth. The microphone uses your mouth as a sound stage and broadcasts this WAAAHH situation. You don't speak through it, but you mimic the consonants and breaks. Clicks and pops ... C's, K's, T's, G's and P's. He doesn't SAY magic, but he forms the word like he was about to say it without speaking.
Play any sound/song on your phone, then point the speaker of your phone right into your mouth and just make mouth shapes. That will give you the gist of a talk-box.
Just found you guys. Love your reactions to the dooo. Just reminds me of two food friends watching a video together for the first time and not for a video, just hanging out. Keep it up!
Talkboxes are neat. Your voice normally provides the vowel sounds, and your mouth shape makes the consonant sounds. With a Talkbox, the instrument is what provides the vowel sounds, and you just need to mouth the words like you're enunciating for your half-deaf grandma. With a tube in your mouth. I wouldn't call it easy, but it's definitely simple.
If the dooo watches this reaction which he does bc he watches their vids, much love dude, the new tech is awesome and glad you could find more tools for content. Also, im in your discord lol. Cheers from a fellow musician.
Eventually y'alls beards will be down to your toes and I want a petition that says you can't cut your beard as long as this channel keeps being awesome
The guitar goes into the talkbox. The sound from the guitar comes out through the clear tube and into your mouth. You then mouth the words to whatever you are singing into a voice mic and you play the notes on the guitar. You then get the sound
The only time I've seen a talkbox used live is with Leo Leoni of Gotthard when playing Mountain Mama and a few other songs. Didn't know it was called a talkbox until The Dooo's video was released though.
Other guitarist you guys were talking about that used it alot back in the day was Peter Frampton. Feel like i do is most known song using it along with singing words as well
Edit: Okay, I see he explains it later too. Basically it plays into your mouth through a tube, you shape your mouth to "speak" the noise (like your voice box would, but it's coming from the tube instead), and that gets picked up by a mike.
Bridge pickup is generally the brightest sounding (more treble) while the neck pickup has a rounder sound (more mid n bass). I use the neck for a creamy solo tone and the bridge for rhythm (metal guy).
9:25 peter frampton ,and you can actually kind of have like a makeshift one put your phone speaker up to your mouth and mouth stuff like words and stuff like that it’s kind of the basics of it
I still have an old Zoom 40/40 or is it a 20/20? I dont know it's in the closet, I'm not looking. Anywho, it's an effects processor that had talk box simulation on it. The way that worked was it played the sound back through a head set. Y ol u spoke into a mic connected to the headset then that became the output signal. So you actually needed to stay away from a mic when using it. It worked pretty well once you got the hang of it.
Saturday August 5th. He's in prison for crimes of passion. Voiceplay will be releasing their new video probably Friday Aug 11th. What's better than 4 drunken sailors? Why 6 drunken sailors of course
Just want to let you guys know, but muting part of a "UA-cam" video, because you don't want to get copy right claimed by youtube seems a bit pointless, as you are watching someones video who "doesn't have the copyright claim" on youtube and it wasn't muted by youtube.
Also it’s my first time uploading on UA-cam if someone could give me some advice on uploading videos through my phone I would appreciate it 😊, just trying to be more consistent I uploaded this video through the same way and now the plus button that used to be on the top right corner of my screen somehow fails to exist If someone could please help me with this problem 🙏🏻
Maybe i just like watching yall react to the dooo but do you listen and react to music? if so yall should listen to some bilmuri. songs to include- anabolic spudsman with will ramos, cornfed yeti, boutta cashew, all gas, and livin lovin laughin. or just listen to them and mention your thoughts lol. this includes ppl in the comment section.
TONS of independent music artists in our channel. We try to promote independent as much as we can, and we’ve found a massive collection of artists that are totally cool with us reacting to their stuff!
Never once claimed to be a guitar player, first of all. I’m a drummer. So jot that down. Also, why would we ruin a chance for one of our viewers to enlighten us with something we didn’t already know? We’d rather hear from our viewers than google some simplistic answer. Thanks for the view though!

Actually, Eddie never used it himself, it was his guitar technician who used it for the recording. 😉

Hey, we appreciate you being here with us! We’ll have more content at the end of summer, stay tuned!!
I leaned to not be surprised by anything TheDooo does anymore purely for the sake of my sanity 😂

He talks about them numerous times on the podcast. He has a really wide range of music he listens too
@@evanbrown9916 You're tellin' me there's a podcast!?! I gotta go look for that, that sounds awesome.
Best suffed talk box talk into the back of a standing fan

I haven't heard anyone use a voucebox very much since Peter Frampton.
I’m telling ya the Dooo is straight comedy
Peter Frampton was the most renowned person to use a talk box years ago. Namely in the song "Do you feel like we do"
I think I liked the 24K cover the most with the talk box
If the dooo watches this reaction which he does bc he watches their vids, much love dude, the new tech is awesome and glad you could find more tools for content. Also, im in your discord lol. Cheers from a fellow musician.
JEFF was HERE yayyyyyyyyyyyy 🎉🎉
New sub ✌️
Appreciate it, friend! Glad to have ya!
Do you feel like we do by Frampton is a great showcase for the use of a talkbox. Frampton used it quite a lot in his songs.
Yeah, when he said something about the older guy using it alot, I'm yelling at the screen, "Frampton"
notice the pfp, my 2nd favorite band 🤘 Jinjer is incredible, good taste
Thanks for the vid was fun watching him again 😂❤
Thanks for the view, and for being here with us!

The guitar goes into the talkbox. The sound from the guitar comes out through the clear tube and into your mouth. You then mouth the words to whatever you are singing into a voice mic and you play the notes on the guitar. You then get the sound
Peter Frampton was best known for the talkbox. The song you're thinking of is "Do you feel like we do".
My brothers, I know you’ve listened to “ROGER and ZAPP” king of the tube!
I was waiting for yall to react to this one. I was disappointed, great reaction as always. Matt be sounding like he swallowed a scorpion lol.❤
list of things we dont (need).. literally almost everything. list of things i (want).. literally almost everything.. keep makin your reactions.
Big vibe! 😂 thanks for the support!
The only time I've seen a talkbox used live is with Leo Leoni of Gotthard when playing Mountain Mama and a few other songs. Didn't know it was called a talkbox until The Dooo's video was released though.
Joe Perry uses a talkbox often for Sweet Emotion, this reaction is great btw btw!! 🙌
Thank you for this reac
Likewise for the interaction :)
THAT'S NOT A TALKBOX IT'S ALL MELODYNE!!! WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!!
This is late, but the guitarist who used the talk box a lot was Joe Walsh, who was the guitarist for the Eagles and then went solo.
Other guitarist you guys were talking about that used it alot back in the day was Peter Frampton. Feel like i do is most known song using it along with singing words as well
Dooo probably can't play in public. I'd recognize his playing anywhere.
Peter Frampton made the talk box famous.
I think Peter Frampton once said in an interview that sometimes that certain notes he played felt like it might shatter his back teeth
Amp in mouth, mouth envelope filter lol
You won't hear audio thru this but just imangine that the Dooo does it way better anyways
Peter frampton? He did it pretty commonly. He was amazing at it
I never bored with thedooo hes have milion idea
Edit: Okay, I see he explains it later too.

Yeah that Mike guy is very perceptive! 😁
Dalek from doctor Who XD

I use the neck for a creamy solo tone and the bridge for rhythm (metal guy).
I’m a drummer, so of course I had them mixed up 😂 thanks for the correction!
And that man is still a virgin so I’m happy to be apart of the community aswell if that man is still in here😂
9:25 peter frampton ,and you can actually kind of have like a makeshift one put your phone speaker up to your mouth and mouth stuff like words and stuff like that it’s kind of the basics of it
Joe Walsh invented it for Rocky mountain way
frampton❤❤
Dave Gilmore has been known to use them too
Joe Walsh did alot of playing with a talk box
Joe Walsh used 1 for rocky mountain high with the eagles

Am I showing my age when I say that none of these people ever heard of Peter frampton lol
Doo use to play BO2 for a living basically lmao. you should watch some of his really old ass videos.
Peter drake used one alot with his steel guitar
16:32 - I think you meant "the output", not the "input". 😉
I think there is a new one
❤

Peter Frampton
Have you ever seen the doooo using a double Electric Guitar?
I like how they didn’t put the vid in when he said he’ll circle it.😅
Oops 😬 🤭
Peter Frampton, maybe is who your thinking about. Maybe.
100%!!

Thanks -Can’t wait as it’s a BANGER!! An Anthem 💯‼️🔥🔥🔥🔥
We talked a LOT about the impact of the music, and how it could work into a live performance. So good!!
Wait, is Livin' on a Prayer intro is a talkbox?
Actually, I think so! Sounds like it, anyways!

Two guitarists react to a talkbox video, but can't google the functionality of one before recording the video first?

@@307Reacts Hmmz, I don't know where I got that from then. My apologies.
Thunderstruck has gotta be the most boring song to ask Doo to play

omfg
I loved it until use guys couldn't do a copy write that vid would've made then entire vid
