At the last minute, The Cars said they didn't want their song in there, so the record label had to recall and destroy all the physical copies of Teens of Denial and Will made the ending bit and re-mixed the song into "Not What I Needed" on his laptop to re-release the album. There are actually two other bonus tracks on the Japanese CD, and all of them except for "The Move" are just re-recordings of older songs Will made on his own.
Before you listen to Teens of Style I'd recommend listening to Monomania first, it was the album that came out after the original twin fantasy and is kind of a continuation of the themes of that album in a more bitter light after the breakup. Apart from one song, Teens of Style is an album of re-recordings of songs from 3, My Back Is Killing Me Baby, and Monomania, and while the songs from 3 and MBIKMB are ones that you could listen to the re-recordings of first and still get a lot out of the Monomania songs are so thoroughly entrenched in the concept of that album that listening to them out of that context first would be doing them a disservice imo (plus I personally think the original versions of those songs sound better on Monomania and would love to see you listen to that album). I'm really glad you listened to this album btw a lot of people on youtube that have listened to Car Seat seem to only listen to Twin Fantasy which is a shame since they have so many good albums.

@@shyupercI think it's worth doing in the future because it's still a good album and it's fun hearing the stylistic differences in the re-recordings :) I really like the re-recordings of the 3 and MBIKMB songs and the new song in there is great too imo, the Monomania songs in there are also good there's just something about the originals that I prefer but I know some people do prefer the re-recordings so it's definitely a taste thing. It's also the first album he released under Matador so it has a full band behind it (it has a different bass player from the one that's been in the band from Teens of Denial onward iirc) and is the last album that Will did his own production for so it sounds quite different to Denial which is cool.

I don't recommend doing Teens of Style next, as it's not a themed album, and is just a compilation of previously made songs rerecorded to a higher quality. It's a fine album, and there are some songs there that I enjoy and listen to more than the originals (something soon, times to die) but I find that listening to the albums they're originally from is the better way to go. My personal top 3 albums are Tod, Twin Fantasy and How to Leave Town, and I would love to see your reaction to HTLT. It's a fabulous album, but quite different to the ones you've listened to, but I listen ALL the time and would definitely watch to see your thoughts and reaction :))

As the world's -gayest- biggest Car Seat Headrest fan, I'll answer your question: I can't say I prefer Teens of Denial to Twin Fantasy, but I also can't say I have any complaints with it. They're both perfect albums, but Twin Fantasy means more to me personally. Also: If you do more CSH, I would suggest their 2014 EP "How to Leave Town (it's Will Toledo, so "EP" means an hour long album, but whatever lol)
