Mama of 5 here, 11 and under and we are just stepping into home education after trying "unschooling" for a year while we transitioned countries. I just want to say that as a WOMByn, i see you, i honor you, i respect you and i am truly so grateful for the energy you are putting into helping families like ours who are trying to piece it all together. Thank you beautiful soul! ❤
There were no rinky-dink skinny crayons in Germany untill Crayola started to be a old there in very recent years. When I grew up in the 70s we used Stockmar and Pelikan crayon in Kindergarten and school. And yes they were both the Stockmar size. I tried Filana block crayons but I prefer the Stockmar as well. I bought the Stockmar ones for my kids, block and stick crayons.
I just want to correct something. The stockmar crayons are not fat crayons. Those have always been that size in Germany, even in the 70s. They had thinner ones from Pelikan when I grew up, but they were then encased in a plastic push case to keep them from drop breaking and keep hands cleaner. But the Stockmar crayons are the standard crayons used in Germany for all schools, not just Waldorf or Rudolph Steiner schools. You can even buy them at the grocery store.
@ladyinblack3398 It's not a matter of correction, just country differences. In The USA, Stockmar would be considered 'jumbo' crayons, as Crayola is the 'standard' thickness. Being an American in the U.S., it's a clear distinction we often disclose, so we know which we are getting.
I enjoyed this video very much. Love your resources. Just subscribed. I’m always intrigued by Waldorf methods. I also have a channel mainly about homeschooling and would love to connect here 😊
