My favorite hunt is a no dog rabbit hunt in the snow. Me and my bud shot 62 last year throughout the 3 month season no dogs at all. What a blast. Well.dun boys
That's awesome I've grown up hunting rabbits with no dogs in southern wi and it's always a great time. Good job and good shooting.
Thanks a lot!! Like you said, it is always a great time! Good luck on your future hunts!
That’s some mighty fine shooting there young man , I guess fried rabbit is in order
I saw that video where you found that deadhead and I like your videos
Can’t decide between a 12 gauge or 20….it’ll be used for weekend fun clay shooting, rabbit hunting, bird hunting and home protection. I’ve been told to keep in mind the weight difference between a 12 and 20 if I’m going to be carrying it through the woods for a few hours…what’s your advice?
We use 12 gauges pretty much exclusively. You can use them for everything and the weight has never really been an issue. Most people say the Remington 870 is one of the best all around models you can get, although we have never personally used one. You could also consider using a sling to manage some of the weight for carrying it through the woods. Heavier guns also generally tend to have less recoil. For my money I’d go with a 12 gauge!!
For rabbit hunting I use a Remington 870 20 gauge youth model because its only like 42" long. Where I hunt in Michigan is very thick with tangle wood so having a shorter gun gives a lot better maneuverability. Rabbits like the thick stuff around here.
What kind of shot do you use? Have any problems with bb'
@@BuckFeverOutdoors ive never went rabbit hunting plan to this spring. Is using a 22 challenging?
@@mr.kenslifeshop4034 we actually used a .22 in our most recent rabbit hunting video. Shooting them on the run with a .22 is almost impossible, but they don’t run very far. Once you flush them out, they will take off fast for 2 or 3 seconds and then stop moving. Wait for them to stop then start blasting!!
I’ll be honest ain’t nothing like watching my shorthair work and point birds. However, an old school no dog kicking brush rabbit hunt is a strong second!!!
Looking for a new hunting vest what do you recommend
Vortex has a good looking orange vest that is great for deer season but does not have a pocket for critters such as rabbits or pheasants. If you really want to get fancy, First Lite has a sweet orange vest but again, no critter pocket and a big price tag. For the hunting we do, any old vest works just fine! Best advice is to not over-spend on something like this. Save those pennies for a nice pair of boots or bibs!
Im going with a friend in a few weeks. It's our 1st time rabbit hunting. Any tips?
@@RileyReneau Obviously safety comes first... rabbits tend to run around somewhat sporadically so wear orange and always be mindful of where other people are. We always hunt without dogs and have the best luck targeting brush piles and areas with thick cover. You can walk up to a brush pile and kick it a few times and usually kick one or two out. If you're walking through thick cover you will just kick them up here and there. They move fast so always walk with your gun in a position that you can get it up to your shoulder and get the safety off pretty quickly. Be safe and have fun and let us know how you guys do!!
Around 5:24 you can see a rabbit running inside the brush pile while the guy is stepping on it
Is this on private or public land?
@@BuckFeverOutdoors that explains the success rate! 😂 I’m an upland hunter and always hope my dog will flush one or two rabbits out to put in the pot, but unfortunately all the coyotes in our area eat them right up (here in southeastern Wisconsin)
@@littlemanoutdoors_968 anytime we hunt on public land we are always reminded how lucky we are to have access to private land! One or two off of public is worth just as many as a limit on private! Have you had any luck yet this season?
Why is there a limit on shooting Rabbits
@@BuckFeverOutdoors I was just wondering here in Ireland there is no limit on shooting rabbits you can shoot as many as you want all year round.I enjoyed your Video
@@yammo12 Thank you! We definitely have plenty of rabbits here so I'm not sure why we have a limit. I suppose, in some areas the population could be lower which would warrant limits. Thanks for watching!
Good hunt..#7.. not bad.. BUT YOU GUYS ARE SHOOTING TOO FCKN CLOSE & IFO EACH OTHER.. the guy who kicked out the rabbit from under the down tree THAT WAS his rabbit ! You fired IFO & CROSS HIM DANGEROUS ..
Excellent area, MORE SAFETY.. LEAD still can ricochet
Brings back memories hunted cottontails with my Dad in Michigan
That's awesome man! That's what hunting is all about! Thank you for watching!
