Surya I was bit offended the way you Shrug off the "Parking guy" "Shoe polisher"... don't forget they are hard working people, and nothing wrong to do Manual job, they deserve full respect just like you and me wanted to be treated...The real success of Digital technology lies when it reaches Common man
I completely agree with your sentiment. It’s not uncommon for creators and policy wonks to dismiss the common man as “hoi polloi”. But it’s precisely the success or failure with the common man that determines the success of such a product. While much of what the Chinese government does is despicable we can certainly learn a lot from them about such matters.
he was just taking it easy i think) I would have been too if I thought that was the case but he did not mean to shrug off, he was just kind of talking loosely amongst friends. Point well taken though!
Digital economy is pushing out the low end workers who depend on tips or alms. Many times I want to pay a tip, bit find myself without cash and the other person is not digitally enabled... We need a system that includes these people ( waiters, parking attender, beggers )too
It's always frustrating to see how Russia is far ahead of us, not just in Arms development which is understandable as they have much more experience, but even in Standardization through excellent Strategic Planning! They have came up with two game changing platforms, 1) Armata Universal Combat Platform to standardise their Main Battle Tank to Self-propelled howitzer to almost everything in their Armoured Corps, 2) Su-75 "Single Engine Stealth Fighter" to standardise their Air Force and Navy combat aircraft fleet in future! US also standardising their Combat Aircraft fleet with F-35 A/B/C and possibly New 4.5 Gen Fighter, Meanwhile in India we have... Current :: MiG 21 Jaguar Mirage 2000 MiG 29 Tejas (Mk1/Mk1A) Sukhoi Su-30 Rafale Upcoming : TEDBF AMCA Tejas Mk2 F-18/Rafale-M One more (from MMRCA) I always think if we were designing New Aircraft for Navy, couldn't we had designed Single Engine Stealth Aircraft like Su-75 which has higher thrust, maybe 110 kn, and of course having reliable engine like from Safran or RR that Navy don't have any excuse to give that we wants twin engine aircraft for safety reasons, etc. With that, We might have just two standardized Combat Aircrafts for both, Navy and Air Force, AMCA in Heavy Category and New Single Engine Stealth Aircraft in Light/Medium Category, Another frustrating thing is, why we just don't Design Aircrafts, Drones, Helicopters, etc. for Navy First and then modify them for Air Force's needs, it might save lots of Time and most importantly Taxpayer Money! Is this just a coincidence that we do this much mistakes in our Acquisition and Arms Development? Does this all done by that alleged Chandigarh Arms Lobby to make sure India keep importing foreign arms? I'm not a technical guy, yet I can understand these basic things about planning, something i wrote above may be inaccurate but at least we can understand these things! But those working in Govt for last 30-35 years don't reform or don't wants to reform Acquisition and Arms Development process or disempower these Arms Import Lobby! This is just frustrating. There must be some Ruthless Background Checking of these Senior Government Officials, especially General Rank Officers, Secretaries and Joint Secretaries to find and imprison Corrupt Babus and Faujis, both Serving and Retired.
All you points are valid, but you should realize Modi is also compromised but not monetarily. Bowing in front of the pope that should have told you something.
Thanks Surya for getting over Anil for a very informative and accessible discussion on the hottest topic of the day. Before we go e-rupee, RBI should withdraw notes of Rs 1000/- and above from the circulation. Most of these notes are just hoarded and not really in circulation. This will leave public with Rs 500 and below notes. Our digital payment system is good enough for payment of small and large amounts. Once e rupee is introduced, even Rs 500 note should be withdrawn. This will automatically make black money creation and handling difficult. Also, for all currency notes, introduce expiry date say, 3 years once issued. This will ensure no one will hoard them for long.
What u say is good. But thinking of being on digital has its cons too. Imagine a situation when govt needs to block ur funds ( like in a war), then u lose all access. If the internet crashes, your access is gone. Being totally depended on digital is dangerous as all my moves are tracked. Even if i am not involved in negative acts, i don't want visibility to my funds and about where i invest or spend.
What exactly is a CBDC, the eRupee, how is it different from digital payment systems like the UPI, that has not been defined or clarified. Dissatisfied with the discussion.
Mate please open your eyes, if India does not adopt new technology we will be left behind. It is coming if you like it or not. If you embrace it you will succeed if you keep on skipping u will be left behind
What % of transactions are in crypto? or UPI or ATM withdrawal?? CASH IS SND WILL REMAIN KJNG !!! we already have a lot of BLACK MONEY which people WILL and have been transferring abroad Since several decades WHICH CRYPTO CURRENCYS WILL MAKE IT EASY !!
I can bet a $100 dude explaining does not know how crypto works. which is a bit sad because he clearly tried to prepare but he just does not understand what makes crypto 'crypto', which is essential to know to be able to not compare it with eRupee! also he does not understand blockchain lol. He is the one who scores 95% in a viva because he knows who to say the right words but if you ask him to do a practical he will get to start cheating lol . Sorry do not mean to offend but someone has got to keep it real!
and i am sorry - I do not mean any offence at all! I guess it is just a little in the weeds for non technical folks but I felt a moral duty to say what I said (minus the pun which I just included to make it comical). thanks for the effort!
He is explaining block chain and e rupee to common folks. I understood what he said. I have watched various videos and read articles on block chain and i know what i am hearibg. So smart people like you don't need to brag about your technical background. Folks here are smart enough to understand these things.
Thanks to Mr Padmanabham for making sense of a very geeky subject. I learnt a lot.
Thank you to the both of you for this technical briefing.

Anil P was brilliant
Good part of your discussion is, will there also be transparency in political funding & in our elections?✌️✌️✌️👍👌🙈🙈🙈
Very interesting, thanks Strat Global
This indeed has a lot more prospects
e rupee launching date ,is it coming as soon as posible?
