There is a fifth ruin door in the Crystallis ruin to open, two on one side and three on the other, but it remains closed and no more ruins to explore on worldmap. Does that mean there is a best ending that would have been made and it got cut? 10/10 game. Excellent voice cast and RPG/strategy game. Memorable story and unique animation. Lots of heart and time gone into it. Less vague spoilers and a theory below*** * * * * * * * * * Also: The female scientist, Lilith. Either the drawing of the Empress was recycled (doubt) or "Lilith", the name of the first human woman biblically, is either a conscious time travelling Crisbell or an iteration of a Crisbell that went backwards for some reason. One of the images in the Rainbow Pools, near end game with just Mattias and Crisbell, show an image that never occurred in the past - an Ardo with a baby Crisbell in a dark place. That either means if she expends herself Crisbell is essentially deaged (and therefore doesn't keep her memories, as shown with Kari). This is what happens in the regular ending. Ardo finds himself in a dark realm, like a place between time, and there's only Crisbell as a baby there and now as she took care of him as a pretending vulnerable frog, he would take care of her at her truly most vulnerable. The point of above is I think Lilith is a deaged and grown version of a Crisbell that has fiddled with time magic so much her hair went from red to white, skin bleached, and eyes from green/aqua to ice blue. She either went deep into the past to stop Ardo (maybe the first Ardo) and unintentionally deaged herself and grew with the same characteristics and then the humans attacked, or was a Rena woman who had a Crisbell's (maybe the first) consciousness placed into her by a time travelling Crisbell unintentionally in her determination to do the right thing, in this case performing a great wrong. Her being gone can mean during attack, as voiced by a stricken and enraged Ardo who thinks the humans did it, might be instead that she used the time travel machine she worked on to do a jump, maybe to stop the humans originally, causing them to fear and retaliate with even more bloodshed which sent Ardo spiralling more and vowing to avenge the Rena, or she used the machine or her time travel powers (if deaged Crisbell and not a subsumed Rena woman) to stop the bloodshed, same result, and returned to it in a weakened state and got spat out at Crystallis. How she appeared out of nowhere according to Willhelm in Crystallis. This Time Empress would then make endless cycles with Ardo. And would explain why she was very powerful but less powerful than Crisbell. Because she's not in her original body (if originally a Rena woman possessed) or (if a deaged time magic experimenting Crisbell) she is weakened in her soul and spirit permanently from the extreme stress and duress, and either way her presence amplifies end cycle Crisbell unwittingly. Because a whole split does want to combine in some way. I don't think it was just the murals, as the Millenium Flower sequence did not have one and both Time Empress and Crisbell were amplified by the Rainbow Pools. So it has to be that the Time Empress's presence is its own multiplier to Crisbell. Elder Crisbell shows that there is a timeline and maybe more where Crisbell lives a long life. Ardo going crazy by the Rena bloodshed and committing himself to human genocide is obviously not present in earlier cycles otherwise storyline wise Elder Crisbell, named not Crisbell maybe and maybe Crysta (Time Empress named as per Willhelm's reminiscing is Crysta), would not live to be that age as Ardo kept using the ruins to destroy the human race. Or maybe he succeeded originally and some human pockets were left, such as Crystallis, survived and as a iteration of Crisbell the time mage, the elder Crisbell used the time machine in conjunction with her powers to stop the destruction and Ardo. And that is what originally caused the bleached hair, skin, and eyes and her being thrown backwards in time. And she deaged (or not) and the first cycle starts from point zero. From Ardo constantly leaving and not being seen by Time Empress can easily mean that less that Time Empress is the same Crisbell as the player plays and Ardo worrying that Time Empress would recognize him, but that she is the Lilith he knows and probably thinks got taken over by Crisbell, which grieves him and enrages him more. Ardo and Lilith were either lovers or very close (but probably lovers, just based on how the voice actor voiced the lines). And why Ardo is so pleased when JKR kills a weakened Time Empress, he thinks not only will his plan be fruitful but he also kills the Time Empress and lets his love's body be at peace finally (so he believes and could be true if Lilith was overtaken by a time travelling Crisbell). There is a lot of variations to suit the narrative and theories. Any of the above could be possible. I just thought Lilith's drawing and style and same voice actress meant something, along with her name. It is likely that there are parallel dimensions afoot. Otherwise Elder Crisbell would not be able to jump without deaging to grab a baby Crisbell and place her in the orphanage. Possibly in the hopes that her being raised in a most dutiful, peaceful village with great morals under a Mother Superior would assure a Crisbell that was extremely kind-hearted and lawful good and determined enough to stop Ardo in a better way than the others before her. And Elder Crisbell's hope worked out. I used Crisbell's name multiple times to describe Time Empress and Elder Crisbell, but likely Crisbell has a 100% an entirely different name than any of her others. As for the religion, who knows. It is a Lady of Time that started it and an Elder Crisbell is involved. Maybe same "grandmother" in her efforts for Crisbell to be the best iteration of her. She met up with Time Empress with Crisbell in tow when Crisbell was very little (maybe to try and devise a plan but Time Empress she found to be too mentally unhinged and not herself), and proceeded to drop Crisbell off at orphanage for safety and good reasons and time hop to pave a belief, cautioned entwined in the belief against exploratory efforts of the ruins to prevent Crisbell from finding them any earlier and being harmed or dying in them, and purposefully soaked all the murals with her energy and causing an extra syncronic effect with a whole Crisbell that a damaged and deranged Time Empress would not be able to reap benefits of. Crisbell and Time Empress encounters would also amplify Crisbell maybe, except the Time Empress being damaged soulfully or deranged cannot experience a boomerang effect herself from Crisbell. Just beat the game and I don't hope for a sequel. Sequels usually ruin things. The game had some unexplained aspects, but they aren't plotholes. I did wish there were more Cristopher and Crisbell moments. They were clearly hinted at as a potential pairing, Rhys completely aside. Cristopher had THE most reaction of them all, even Ardo, to her apparent at the time death. Of course, it could be close friendship and him reacting appropriately in comparison to everyone else. But his grief sets up an interesting sequel if they did decide to do one where he has the means (wealthy St. Clarity elite and unlocked ruins with time mages still alive on the other end and a time travel machine), the motive (turning back time to return Crisbell), and his own powerful magic (Cristopher is human and can amplify with crystals and is a powerful elemental mage for his youth and will be more powerful as he ages) and he has the determination and good intentions and heart. What young teenager takes up his family's heirloom shield slicers and races beyond his home to a farmer's town to stop the Empress's horde or warn of her intentions? An extremely noble hearted one and one that doesn't stop to think things through and has more heart than brains. Which Willhelm was trying to instill in Cristopher to think things through. Who knows maybe the whole St. Clarity arc has shades of what could have been or could be in relation to Cristopher's future, hence CrisTales - Cristopher is a Cris. The shades are that of a devoted Hand (the priest to his Lady - Cristopher and Crisbell) that has the capability to turn to less righteous paths by his desires and starcrossed love (Enzo to Sofia - though Sofia marries Enzo, she clearly did so for status and loves Armando versus Cristopher doing whatever it took to return Crisbell to life and his love being starcrossed because the barriers to Crisbell is time and magic and normally insurmountable and not because she wouldn't reciprocate his affections). ** I just freshly beat the game and have and have a lot of thoughts about it clearly!!

I agree! Their pairing definitely would fall in suit with the parallels to Time Empress and Willhelm, and Lilith and Ardo. I think they added Rhysa to draw attention away, but Cristopher's reactions and bond with Crisbell are apparent; and I think that was less lovestruck from Cristopher to Rhysa and more infatuation and fascination - she didn't seem to be as taken with him as he was to her and is instead very sweet and kind to give the one date a try!

Found myself using Kari and Zas end game since Zas' spiky hammer does insane damage on crit and buff roulette is amazing. Mighty guard for the party. Karis goblin buff and Crisbells regio regen buffs along with Zas' attack/def up and hastega the boss barely could dent me 😅. My advice if you use JKR is pair him with Kari or Zas for the attack buff and give him the permanent berserk status ring and he melts anything. If you throw a regen from crisbell on him too hell sustain through his overheat ability which does huge damage as well to enemies so you never have to worry about him dieing. Impact strikes was just so lackluster so I used that strat when I had him in my party 😅
What is sad is that the group won't know that Crisbell did survive. She send herself to the futur with the Rena I think (I suppose this was her only way to survive the process), but she won't be able to go back to the other.
I dislike when a game do that... Make you believe that your character died but in fact no (like in Gravity Rush 2). But I prefer it over a character's death. Yeah... I REALLY dislike end where the MC died no matter what. I'm not against a bittersweet end or a mutiled MC though.

That's it? Crisbell just...disappears, Cristopher laments for like 2 seconds, and everyone else goes back to happy normal life? What a half-baked ending.
Also, I was honestly a little sad that Ardo didn't seem to care much. I loved the idea that he did love and care for her, as he's been with her the entire time and seen how good she is. She is literally proof that humans can be good. Yet, I felt a lack of anything when she died, let alone FOR HIS GOALS. I'd expect at least a tear.
Is there a New Game + option? I finished the game and it doesn't appear. However ever since I started the game everytime I booted up the main menu a "Continue +" option would appear for a split second. Its still doing that
Even though I couldn't watch the video fully because not yet there myself, it was helpful knowing you can finish around Lv.30. I'm at Lv 22 and just left St. Clarity. But I'm going to retry so maybe I can grind less this time to catch up to where I was.
I finished with lvl 40...the last skills are garbage. The lvl 39 from crisblee its bugged and you cant use it. It makes your whole team inmortal. The only really good spell is regio celeritas to give speed to your whole team
Yeah, in about 15-20 hours you can finish the game, in less time if you rush it (imo i wouldn't do it) and the difficulty was allright for me, i died some times in some bosses, but with some planning and thinking you can beat them without grinding, maybe for the hours the game gives you it's a little expensive (40eur steam) but there's places where is more cheap, so i would recomend you to give it a try! ^^
Did you complete all 10 side quests? I thought there was a true ending. I missed two sidequests in Act 3 and got the same cliffhanger ending. The game had potential but it was such a bad experience, I'm never touching it again.
Yeah seems I missed 1 quest in the 3rd town. I didn't get the choice to save both university and museum. Game was solid but I saw the true ending and its just extended scenes for the npc how they are in the future. Cliffhanger ending still there
@@CGInferno ah found another vid showing the extra scenes. It makes it a bit better knowing your party members were doing alright but fuck me, they actually removed those scenes in the "normal" end because I missed some side quests for completely non-story relevant characters.
I love the game pretty much up to the ending then decided have lebuff himself write the final ending after the empress fight his fight and this ending I was pretty done with the story. It feels like they mass effect the ending

Yep, That's the only "real" ending which is Crisbelle sacrificing herself. Another ending is just you became a villian and other you will come and try to stop you later(I think?). I think the game lack a final cutscene where Crisbelle's friends gather around and grieve for her, that would have been a MUCH MORE impactful ending.
I guess the update to the ending they did is they showed what everyone in the party ended up doing ......would've been cool if they'd shown what the future was for each of them like they did Narim
Mechanically a pretty disappointing final boss. If you make a game with interesting and/or unique mechanics shouldn't especially the last boss of the game force the player to take full advantage out of these mechanics? But here? Nothing! Time shifting is useless, whenever Ardo is on the left or right side doesn't matter (he can't be moved anyway). Sure, he can Stop time and then bombards you with magic attacks, but at the core, it's just a very strong attack hitting everyone and causes random status Inflictions. The worst Ardo can do is to cheese you by setting your group on fire and then reduce everyone's HP to 1. This doesn't feel at all like a Time Mage battle. At least the Empress made you use Regression to counter Doom and Perfect Cure.
Agree. I personally dislike the mechanics of the bosses in general. All the bosses were immune to pretty much any magic effects, like burning or soaked, and weren't affected by time magic, which is definitely whack for a boss, since the player should have a variety of strategies to use against a boss. Instead, the boss forces you to one strategy.

Oh man same. Now I have to start all over. :( I missed a quest in St. Clarity and saw today the do all quests before the final boss trophy. I was hoping there was a ng+ to just keep going then retry specifically for the side quests.

If you mean the "bad ending" cut scene then yes its most definitely Crisbell. After you lose the fight she decides to follow through with Time Empress version of herselfs plan to destroy the ruins along with killing a vast majority of the population as collateral to stop Ardo. She returns to the point of which she begins her studies in Crystallis to become what we know as Time Empress thereby causing the time loop she created before to happen again. Only this time there won't be a Crisbell and a Time Empress but simply Crisbell who becomes the Time Empress because she travelled only so far back that she and the Crisbell of that timeline she creates by going back will become one. No good Crisbell to stop Time Empress Crisbell = planet goes boom
@@AerikTakeshi Of course it's her. It would make no sense to stop the story on a unknown character you didn't knew exist and that Matias care. The only possible answer to his joy is Crissbel before him. She is really powerful. She send herself into the futur with the Rena. Probably because it was the easyest (and less dangerous way) for her to succeed. Now, because it's a new planet, she can't return back in time WITHOUT destroying it. Think like this. Instead of being destroy by the course of time and the power she wielded, she inserted herself in it at the last second. So she goes with the flow. But yes. It's sad that the other character won't know she survived. In her new time they probably are all dead from old age (except maybe K and Paulina)and she can't return without zapping her new home planet and timeline and destroy the 2 worlds. A good story make the character sacrifice something at the end. She didn't sacrifice her life but she sacrificed her futur on her old planet and her friendship. Except for Mattias and the two witnesses who came with him, all of her friends (and not only her group), all the world think that she died. And because she is trap in the futur in another new planet, she is dead for them.

If you throw a regen from crisbell on him too hell sustain through his overheat ability which does huge damage as well to enemies so you never have to worry about him dieing. Impact strikes was just so lackluster so I used that strat when I had him in my party 😅

What is sad is that the group won't know that Crisbell did survive.
She send herself to the futur with the Rena I think (I suppose this was her only way to survive the process), but she won't be able to go back to the other.
I dislike when a game do that... Make you believe that your character died but in fact no (like in Gravity Rush 2). But I prefer it over a character's death.
Yeah... I REALLY dislike end where the MC died no matter what. I'm not against a bittersweet end or a mutiled MC though.
I was pretty sad that Crisbell either dies, or survives and no one knows. She deserves a lot better

I love this game to death but I have to agree, the ending felt a bit rushed and underwhelming.
I thought that Zas accepted Crisbells death way too quickly.

Also, I was honestly a little sad that Ardo didn't seem to care much. I loved the idea that he did love and care for her, as he's been with her the entire time and seen how good she is. She is literally proof that humans can be good. Yet, I felt a lack of anything when she died, let alone FOR HIS GOALS. I'd expect at least a tear.
Not the real true ending... in the true ending you can see what happened with everyone after those events.
Is there a New Game + option? I finished the game and it doesn't appear. However ever since I started the game everytime I booted up the main menu a "Continue +" option would appear for a split second. Its still doing that

Even though I couldn't watch the video fully because not yet there myself, it was helpful knowing you can finish around Lv.30. I'm at Lv 22 and just left St. Clarity. But I'm going to retry so maybe I can grind less this time to catch up to where I was.
I finished with lvl 40...the last skills are garbage. The lvl 39 from crisblee its bugged and you cant use it. It makes your whole team inmortal. The only really good spell is regio celeritas to give speed to your whole team

you dont have true ending. In true ending you see every character fate. You miss one sidequest.

This game looks beautiful, I've seen good reviews ... a question how long the main story is? bosses are challenging, does the game have difficulty?
Main story is about 15-20 hours. No difficulty settings and bosses are ok difficulty wise

Yeah, in about 15-20 hours you can finish the game, in less time if you rush it (imo i wouldn't do it) and the difficulty was allright for me, i died some times in some bosses, but with some planning and thinking you can beat them without grinding, maybe for the hours the game gives you it's a little expensive (40eur steam) but there's places where is more cheap, so i would recomend you to give it a try! ^^

Did you complete all 10 side quests? I thought there was a true ending.
I missed two sidequests in Act 3 and got the same cliffhanger ending. The game had potential but it was such a bad experience, I'm never touching it again.
Yeah seems I missed 1 quest in the 3rd town. I didn't get the choice to save both university and museum. Game was solid but I saw the true ending and its just extended scenes for the npc how they are in the future. Cliffhanger ending still there
@@CGInferno ah found another vid showing the extra scenes. It makes it a bit better knowing your party members were doing alright but fuck me, they actually removed those scenes in the "normal" end because I missed some side quests for completely non-story relevant characters.
I love the game pretty much up to the ending then decided have lebuff himself write the final ending after the empress fight his fight and this ending I was pretty done with the story. It feels like they mass effect the ending

Yep, That's the only "real" ending which is Crisbelle sacrificing herself. Another ending is just you became a villian and other you will come and try to stop you later(I think?).
I think the game lack a final cutscene where Crisbelle's friends gather around and grieve for her, that would have been a MUCH MORE impactful ending.

Mechanically a pretty disappointing final boss.
If you make a game with interesting and/or unique mechanics shouldn't especially the last boss of the game force the player to take full advantage out of these mechanics?
But here? Nothing! Time shifting is useless, whenever Ardo is on the left or right side doesn't matter (he can't be moved anyway).
Sure, he can Stop time and then bombards you with magic attacks, but at the core, it's just a very strong attack hitting everyone and causes random status Inflictions.
The worst Ardo can do is to cheese you by setting your group on fire and then reduce everyone's HP to 1. This doesn't feel at all like a Time Mage battle.
At least the Empress made you use Regression to counter Doom and Perfect Cure.

Agree. I personally dislike the mechanics of the bosses in general. All the bosses were immune to pretty much any magic effects, like burning or soaked, and weren't affected by time magic, which is definitely whack for a boss, since the player should have a variety of strategies to use against a boss. Instead, the boss forces you to one strategy.

Oh man same. Now I have to start all over. :( I missed a quest in St. Clarity and saw today the do all quests before the final boss trophy. I was hoping there was a ng+ to just keep going then retry specifically for the side quests.
There's a "continue +" option that appears for a split second everytime I load up the main menu. Either its a scrapped thing or a glitch that its not appearing
is chris bell future the time empress or time empress travel back in time seperating herself and became two chrisbell which made new timeline alternate parallel dimension etc
If you "Give up" then all of these will likely play out all over again (Or not, depend on whether or not she learn from the error that Time empress warned her)

Just get to the final boss and either beat him or lose and chose the give up option

If you mean the "bad ending" cut scene then yes its most definitely Crisbell. After you lose the fight she decides to follow through with Time Empress version of herselfs plan to destroy the ruins along with killing a vast majority of the population as collateral to stop Ardo. She returns to the point of which she begins her studies in Crystallis to become what we know as Time Empress thereby causing the time loop she created before to happen again. Only this time there won't be a Crisbell and a Time Empress but simply Crisbell who becomes the Time Empress because she travelled only so far back that she and the Crisbell of that timeline she creates by going back will become one. No good Crisbell to stop Time Empress Crisbell = planet goes boom

@@AerikTakeshi Of course it's her. It would make no sense to stop the story on a unknown character you didn't knew exist and that Matias care. The only possible answer to his joy is Crissbel before him. She is really powerful. She send herself into the futur with the Rena. Probably because it was the easyest (and less dangerous way) for her to succeed.
Now, because it's a new planet, she can't return back in time WITHOUT destroying it. Think like this. Instead of being destroy by the course of time and the power she wielded, she inserted herself in it at the last second. So she goes with the flow.
But yes. It's sad that the other character won't know she survived. In her new time they probably are all dead from old age (except maybe K and Paulina)and she can't return without zapping her new home planet and timeline and destroy the 2 worlds.
A good story make the character sacrifice something at the end. She didn't sacrifice her life but she sacrificed her futur on her old planet and her friendship. Except for Mattias and the two witnesses who came with him, all of her friends (and not only her group), all the world think that she died. And because she is trap in the futur in another new planet, she is dead for them.
