heyo loving your videos thinking about expatting my self, also an aussie, whats the expenses like, living costs over there, my general plan was to drive trucks and save for a bit before finding a spot to abitrage my income (work for good money then live elswhere on the cheap)
oh wow so beautiful! I will be traveling to Papua on 30.6 and am planning on staying for 60 days. I was planning to explore the villages in the west.Do you believe it's safe for me to travel solo as a female 36y.o?
Hi, I’m so glad you enjoyed my video! Look, like every other place in the world you just have to be cautious and aware of your surroundings. Don’t go down roads you’re not comfortable with. Always have your phone so you can if you get in trouble. And this most important, as told my the locals, make friends with other locals as they are experts around PNG! I wish you a safe trip to PNG.
Thank you for giving us a tour of your lovely apartment. Please share more about living in Port Moresby. Sadly, the main thing that I have repeatedly heard about PNG is that is extremely violent. I saw the electric fencing outside your apartment so I expect that the violence is due to the huge disparity of wealth between the rich and the have-nots.
I’m glad that you enjoyed my video. Port Moresby is an incredible country and the culture/nationals are incredible. 😁 Well, in my opinion, every country has its downs and issues, PNG is very corrupt and just happens to be the one country where most issues are addressed and people are scared to come here. You just have to be smart on how you travel, always travel with precaution and never go looking for trouble. I’ve only been here for 4 months and no problems so far, so fingers crossed it stays like that. 😉 would you like to know anything else? Are you planning on travelling to PNG after covid restrictions? Yes our apartment is fully secured with a 24/7 security team securing the perimeter. It’s mainly other expats here so we’re safe 😁👍🏼
@@leahneave5167 I think PNG is one of the most freed country in this part of the world where everybody seemed to be in charge of their own destiny and are completely free to do whatever they wish to do in life and wherever they chose to live! corruption is a part of life in every society around the world in today's time, but PNG is still functioning and held free election every 5 years since independence from Australia in 1975 and look no further than the quality infrastructure they continue to develop in Port Moresby and elsewhere in PNG....it is a sign of a progressive nation with vision as it seemed....
Hi Leah, is it hard for an Australian to get work or to be hired in POM? do the authorities take bribes for work or residency visas? is food expensive? Thanks
Good on you. If you are coming to PNG as an expat. I welcome you. Yes, like every third world country, PNG has its ups and downs. Most people are good although law and order is an issue. Be careful if you are going out at night. There are still many primitive people who are not used to people of other races and can give you a tormenting stare. But for the most part, it's a country with a beautiful landscape and I hope you enjoy your stay.
no thanks not for me. Shame you didn't mention the security problems, the armed rascals and the corrupt politicians. I lived in PNG for 4 years some time ago and things have got worse.....
Awesome video
Love to see more

I’m looking forward for some more videos
Awesome 👍 Amazing Port Morseby
How much / week?
