I am about to turn 28 and I have always wanted to grow my hair out but I always gave in. The longest period I let it grow was 11 months than I cut it and it hurt so bad. This is my last attempt at growing it as I am planning to let it grow for 2 years if God wills it. The last time I got a trim was in February almost 3 months now so hopefully I will have the resole to this through this time ✌

I was growing my hair out but when it got long like mid length i couldn't stand how much effort it needs so i went back to a buzz cut waaaaay easier
I'm currently in the awkward stage (prolonged due to too many maintenance cuts) but I wanted to know: do you add pomade to the hair when damn, then blow dry, then push back/ hairband? I want to add structure and reduce fly aways without making the hair look overly greasy or overworked? Thanks!

How long is the awkard stage? I got a buzz cut 5 months been growing the top since got a few trims here and there, I feel like my hair top isn’t even but it is, I really wanna buzz it back🤣
My hair is in the awkward stage where its too short to create a nice man bun but too long to really "style" it but I have gotten like 3 totally rsndom compliments in the last 3 months so I guess the akward stage isnt too bad for everyone!

Salt sprays didn't help mine. Is it the cut that matters? Braids to make it look masculine? How?
Been growing mine since January and I'm SO CLOSE to being able to tie it all back, but the very front part keeps falling out and is just a little too short. I'm still really happy though looking back at pics of myself from then vs now, and I'm happy I've kept with it

It's better to put coconut oil a night before showering, let it set on your hair for a night, wake up in the morning and take a shower. It's the best way.

You can begin tying your hair from 4-6 months after the awkward stage but 12 months is the sweet spot.

So why do u need a buzz cut for growing long hair
You don’t need to but when you grow it from a buzz cut it should all grow to be the same length, whereas it can grow at different lengths if you grow it out from a current hairstyle. It doesn’t matter too much though.
