1955 Flood Story WKNB Channel 30 Part 2

This special about the August 1955 Connecticut floods aired in 1956 on WKNB Channel 30 (now WVIT).
The video includes a telethon at WKNB to raise money for flood victims and video from West Hartford, Bristol, Avon, New Britain, and Winsted. Also included are interviews with Governor Ribicoff and President Eisenhower.

Thanks for posting, I like how Eisenhower asked the people to donate to the Red Cross and also said the Federal govt had limits to what it could do under law. I live in this area and still remains of the flood are everywhere, from missing bridges to empty foundations.and of course new dams to help prevent it from happening ever again.
