There was a lot of debate regarding which movie was the remake of the other.The following confirms and conforms that the telugu is original.
The story writer in telugu is shown as Maharathi who is story writer of many NTR folklores like kanchukota etc whereas name of the story writer in kannada not shown but only dialogue writer figures.Supremo of telugu cine music Ghantasala was production’s choice in all their movies till late 60s.If it was planned with only in kannada he would have not done music as he was very busy with singing in telugu for NTR n ANR and other top heros.
Above all most of the technicians viz camera,art,dance,editing,stills,music asstts and others were all popular telugu artistes whom one can find in the titles of both the movies for comparison
Both the movies might be produced simultaneously as the producer viz Sunderlal Nahata was very clever as a businessman
As cine goers,telugu people heard of Kannada movie only after Ghantasala’s death whereas Bandipotu ran succesfully in some parts of Karnataka including Blore in 1963 itself
