      Absolutely. Back in my 20s, all my friends were about the buccal fat surgery. I almost gave in too. I had a consult with a reputable PS, and he strongly advised against it to all young women because it will almost always make them look a decade older by the time they hit their early 30s. He said our natural bone structure will slowly become more apparent as we age, and as long as it’s not chin fat, it is not advisable to remove fat from the face due to the premature aging factor. It appears that very young women want to have the face of someone in their early 30s (but many don’t understand that’s what a slim wrinkle free sculpted face usually looks like), and women in their late 30s+ want to have the face of someone in their early 20s. So he said if I still feel the same way in my 30s, he’d be more than willing to evaluate my face again, and he refunded my $100 consultation fee. At the age I’m at now, I’m so grateful I he discouraged me from doing it..Because I could have easily went to another plastic surgeon.

Katniss was lucky that the ecosystem of that season of Hunger Ganes was si similar to the woods she spent years hunting in. She did that while already being used to being poor and underfed.

    This shit is why body dysmorphia exists. It's stunning to me that she would not be considered thin enough to play someone who might not always have access to a lot of food, it never even crossed my mind while watching the hunger games. Everyone has different bodies and that is ok, some people are very thin if they don't eat very much and others just aren't, it's just not their body type and it is also okay for an actress to not look emaciated and put her health at risk to play the role of someone who can't afford to eat a lot. Plus Katniss was an expert hunter so she probably had better access to food than most of the other characters in her district and when she won the hunger games the first time she could afford all the food her and her family wanted so gaining a few pounds would actually make a lot of sense. She has always looked amazing and so do people that are heavier or skinnier than her as long as they are healthy, that is all that matters.

    Her figure was perfect for the character. She’s a skilled archer who lives in a lumber region. She would have had plenty of meat and tallow to live by. A region that can support forest, is also fertile enough for home grown veggies. Katniss would have been one of the lucky ones who wasn’t starving

    Katniss was from a district 12 where food is scarce and many die from malnourishment. I too at the beginning thought Jennifer was too “big” since Katniss is EXTREMELY thin but the way Jennifer brought to Katniss to life, even though she’s not as thin as the book Katniss, she is as strong and determined as her and I’m happy with her decision to not starve herself just for a role as that probably would have effected her acting greatly. She IS the girl on fire ❤

    From what I understand (I've never seen the movie), her character is supposed to live in a place with limited food. This could have been easily fixed with makeup.
    At least in the beginning before her training arc they could have made her look gaunt. And then seeking in on her more natural healthy look.

    • @Alex-gw9mj
      @Alex-gw9mj Рік тому +9

      Sigh.
      So, you want this girl to starve herself for the sake of historical accuracy for events that never actually took place?
      I’m from Appalachia, where Katniss is from, if Hollywood made a movie about Blair mountain, a real event with real people who were dirt poor living in the middle of nowhere, the last thing I would be concerned about is everyone being skinny enough but instead the historical accuracy of the actual important events that took place.
      Katniss isn’t real, but Jennifer Lawrence is. No point in making a real living woman suffer for the sake of, ‘accuracy’ in fiction. It’s fiction. It doesn’t need to be ‘accurate’ at the expense of the actors health. Your entertainment is not more important then these peoples health.

      I agree. Many actors change their bodies with full dedication to match their characters. She's confusing herself with her character. And she does not match Katniss's description. Imagine if Jared Leto looked all nice and chubby while playing someone who was dying from HIV AIDS.

    • @Lex_1416

      @@KarAashika Sometimes those actors push past their limits too with changing their body weight too quickly or by unhealthy means. Her character was an excellent hunter so she wouldn't be missing many meals. I don't know anyone in real life that complained about her body not being accurate for the role. It's not like she was overweight, she was fit which I think is accurate since she was always walking/running and hunting in the forest.
