  • Murder for Hire: For some killers, murder can be a profitable business. And the scene of the crime can be both a source for clues, and puzzling questions. When a victim has been targeted for death, investigators must look beyond the obvious to uncover a murder for hire.
Toxic Death: Sometimes, the cause of death does not match the scene of the crime. When an untraceable poison is used to commit murder, homicide detectives turn to forensic toxicologists to follow a killer’s tracks and expose a toxic death.
Material Witness: Lies and deceit can often throw investigators off the trail of justice. But when hard evidence contradicts a killer’s story, police must use the clues to piece together the truth. Follow investigators as they unravel a web of lies to track down and catch the killers.
The New Detectives is an American docudrama where world-renowned forensics experts and criminal investigators solve a wide range of cases.
Some scenes in this program have been reenacted, due to the sensitive nature of the show, viewer discretion is advised.

This man was given 11 years for murder??? Wow, that’s outrageous. Not enough time for taking a human life. Unbelievable. And the other one 20??! And the wife 3 years probation??? What the hell was that all about it? What is wrong with the criminal justice system in America??? I am appalled.

I take it for granted that most criminals are not particularly smart, but these people have left me dumbfounded. Did Kim Ricco really think the police would just take her word for it that her husband had been drunk & smoking cigars? The medical examiner takes the cake though. The way he disposed of the syringe was totally unprofessional & suspicious. Then lying about her medical history was incredibly stupid. He was a medical examiner for Christ's sake! If someone should know better it would be him. I'm completely gobsmacked by their stupidity.

The police may have decided to eliminate her husband, but I haven’t, not by a long shot.
I’m so glad that Wendy spoke to her friends, and that her friends spoke out honestly to the detectives.
Ed, Tom and LouAnna are greedy, controlling, pathetic individuals.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Ed and Tom had a plan to kill each other’s wives.

    Botched the job? Riiiigghht. 🙄
He was only the medical examiner. So that wasn't belivable. And being distraught and not thinking clearly was BS. He couldn't make himself look more guilty if he tried. Now, I know this case is from many years ago. And I think he is even deceased now. After his original verdict was overturned, he got off way too easily, being sentenced to only a couple of years for manslaughter. But, like most narcissistic sociopaths, he proclaimed his innocence til the end. A couple of years after Kay's murder, their son took his own life. That was a direct result of believing his father did indeed kill his mother, so he couldn't live with that knowledge. Sybers left a trail of death and heartache. That's what these murderers don't think about or even care. They ruin so many lives on top of the ones they have already taken. But since they don't care, they are not bothered by the carnage they leave behind.

In the Rico’s story, they failed to find a needle mark in the husband’s body. The medical examiner who performed the autopsy, should have been able to identify it. Or they didn’t mention this fact in this episode. Whatever happened, it was sad that an innocent man lost his life because he had a very greedy wife who had an affair with another man. Money was very important for this woman!
May God give pain and suffering to these criminals for their evil actions.

Why didnt the police order a toxicology report? .. and now a whole year passed and the evidences against this psycho arent enough and the two survivors who took eight hours to clean the scene are out completely free .. why are they now returning to the house ? .. I am really sorry for those four innocent souls and I pray for the truth to be revealed to save them abit of justice ... this Bk and the two survivors know everything and they are all involved .. this is so obvious .. I know something terribly wrong went on this November night .. time is passing but still the three who were there are alive

I believe that some lawyers specialise within their own job. I believe that some specialise in divorce, corporate law etc. I wonder if the final account of either speciality must depend on the time the crime would have taken by to complete the case.
