kamil latocha same! I think the skill required for this NFS3 is much higher then the current ones. The current need for speeds are a lot faster but you get away so easily with smashing the corners. Also if you are behind those days you catch up a lot easier etc. I remember with NSF3 HP that the 8 lap tracks could be killing, after 7 laps and some cars close behind you knew you would loose with 1 more mistake. That shit really got my hearth pounding.
OMFG! i'm crying.. i loved this game and i still do. the best NFS i've ever played. The italdesign scighera and ferrari 355 f1 spider were my favorites cars in this!
I really liked how they made it so the music would change depending on where you were on the track. I could never get bored of the songs cause I would be constantly remixing it every lap lol.
Same here! A couple of years ago I've made a system that could mix this song in a very similar way, on the fly, just the way I wanted. I wanted to make my own videos with this style of music. I never did though...
Same here. I remember when my dad got it for me. I was playing Viper Racing, too. When I started played this game it didn't end there because Viper Racing began to collect dust.
One of the best NFS's ever made. This really brings a tear to my eye since it reminds me of my childhood. I had a Voodoo 2 with Glide 3.x ... Thanks for this old but beautiful video.
playing this with a voodoo2 card was one of the top 3 mind blown graphics moments ever in my gaming life. it looked so much better than anything i'd seen before i could barely believe it. and to be honest, apart from the car models, it stills holds up. aged pretty well.
@@ChronoDog My playing experience used to be grainy. I don't get quite the nostalgia from this. Impressed by the graphics though. The cheat reflective effects on the back of the car are pretty smart.
I almost cried watching this. Certain objects in the map gave me a flash backs. like the wood bridges just made me want to buy it all over again. If I could play ps1 online with specific friends I would be in heaven
My mom bought our first PC back in 2000. It came with a box of games and out of these games NFS3, Age of Empires 2 and FIFA 98 were the ones I played every single day after school. Because of them I now also own NFS4, Underground 1 & 2, Most Wanted & its 2012 version, Carbon, ProStreet, Undercover, Hot Pursuit, Rivals, 2015 and Payback, I fell in love with FIFA again after well over a decade (console bundled with 14) and why I preordered the AoE2 HD version on Steam the moment it was made available. Some loves just never really die, I guess.
It's been 15 years since I last played this game. I remember well this "hometown" location very well as it is the first place I ever tried. What a memory
Thanks for posting this! I had a demo of this game back in college--this makes me want to hunt it down and play it! I love how the rain drops hit the camera lens. I remember hearing the leaves rustle when driving by on other maps--such an immersive experience.
I remember playing this game on pc growing up, it was amazing. I just watched a video before this one of the PS1 version and it looks so shitty compared to this, pc for life :P
Procedural music back in 1998. You can observe at 1:34 and 3:20 that the beat drops after the car exists the section with the trees as it approaches the finish line.
Spent many hours in my younger days running this on a Pentium 2 with some brandless GPU... chasing that Diablo Pursuit car... never did unlock it though. :(
Loved this game. I remember the PS1 version was such a letdown after playing this. Graphics were horrible and Hot pursuit "play as the cop" mode is not even present if I recall.
My Childhood game, i love it so much and also these Memories. I spend hours with this game back then i was in the Kindergarten also it turned me into an NFS Fan and Racing games fan. I was born 1997 but my dad brought us in 2000 and play it until 2004/05 with my Brothers. We spend Hours on this Game on PC and my Favourite Car was the Lamborghini Diablo which is even today. And yes i played other games especially Racing games to but they were mostly a bit older and i wanted Hot Pursuit 2 too on PC but my Parents didnt like it then we buy new games "so much". Bought some new games but rarely also because they were too expenisve. And i like the Hot Pursuits even more than Underground and even Most Wanted but ironically i liked Most Wanted more and realized it was like HP but almost we could bought Underground 2. Speaking about it EA could do more about NFS also with Hot Pursuit 2 and always having Cockpit and adding new Cars such like the Saleen S7 and also onwards they could do that and also by Carbon with the Cars and Story. Now EA fucked up Need For Speed after killing Black Box but HP 2010 wasnt bad but i missed Circuit and funny thing it was for my like Carbon speaking about the problems and similarities but Criterion atleast make it really Actionful. I dont care how much Tuning NFS wil have this will be my Favourtie and i wasnt aware of the difference of PSX and PC Versions of NFS back then and today i am following my Dreams one of it and it will being an Game Producer.
I had such good memories with NFS3. This video is definitely running with 3dfx voodoo hardware acceleration. I ran mine with voodoo 3 2000 back then, the game graphics was extremely atmospheric and great
I loved this game so much, I use to play rocky pass 8 laps at night with weather and full field or cops. It was all about survival. Too bad the magic is gone these days. I have HP3 and yet to touch it, wanted to save that for a rainy day and see if there is a shred of hope.
I remember when this game came out it was like wow...... Changed the whole game experience that was known before. Good drifts car could flip over ect..... Man i feel like i am an old grandfather while im watching a this. So nice times back then. I wait for it when the game industry will ofer something special again! Like the games in the 90s....playstation was a real game experience.
I know, I'm not even 20 now, but I'm feeling myself like I had 70 years now! Time is passing so fast. Still got these womderful memories, when I came home from Kindergarten and playing this, NfSIISE and High Stakes/Road Challenge, what feld a bit like HP.
Now NFS3 fully supports widescreen resolutions without distortion of proportions. Just install Modern Patch: veg.by/en/projects/nfs3/ It also fixes all most annoying bugs in the game.
Evgeny Vrublevsky That's some amazing work you've done there, it works really well. Would be perfect if you could also add 21:9 resolutions (2560x1080, 3440x1440, etc) and perhaps a FoV adjustment to go along with it :)
ChronoDog Sorry, it needs too much time for adjusting HUD for these resolutions. At least while 21:9 resolutions are very unpopular, it doesn't worth it. Maybe in the far future I'll do it :)
Wow... It actually looks good on Glide! I remember that it had some weird perspective problems on non-Voodoo cards, textures were floppy, moving on objects as you've changed your viewing angle..
@KSX387Database It's Frapsed at 1280x800 and cropped a little on the top and bottom, if that's what you mean. And yeah, unfortunately Rapidshare removed my file, even thought it contained no illegal or pirated files whatsoever, just a text file, a MS ACT profile and DGVoodoo =/
ahhhhh, NFS hometown. Almost like a meditative experience.
The NFS franchise had so much soul back then
***** It had its' fun moments too, I think :)
ua-cam.com/video/XnCOteEtBWg/v-deo.html
+Tyler Bang One thing it gets right is the graphics
+Tyler Bang Rivals was not trash at all. It was great. If you want trash, go have a look at Underground and Most Wanted.
for me it ended with most wanted
@@longtailgt not really
its still my fav NFS EVER
me too
same here!

clankill3r yah just try to push cars in nfs3 and u might get off track for doing so
X2
I have to admit... When i was 3.. This was my FIRST EVER NFS game I've ever played
OMFG! i'm crying.. i loved this game and i still do. the best NFS i've ever played. The italdesign scighera and ferrari 355 f1 spider were my favorites cars in this!
William Maldonado i prefer the nazca on the ps1 version... but it doesnt matter anyways because lamborghini diablo and the jaguar were always the best
I really liked how they made it so the music would change depending on where you were on the track. I could never get bored of the songs cause I would be constantly remixing it every lap lol.

fallinawayfromcali12 oh yeah..Viper Racing. Good old days :)
I bought this at the scholastic book fair at my elementary school when I was 7. Good times!!!

Ooh the memories, my childhood right here. And I used to use that Diablo sv all the time too!!
Holy shit, graphics are extraordinary for 1998!. :D
Nope, those are the game's original graphics, there are no mods being used here.
You can run the game as I described and see for yourself.
its been close to 18 years since i've played this. the music was so incredible and indeed the graphics were amaaaaazing.!
it looked like this on PC and you have to change the graphic settings
@@ChronoDog My playing experience used to be grainy. I don't get quite the nostalgia from this. Impressed by the graphics though. The cheat reflective effects on the back of the car are pretty smart.
I love it when the music goes at the same speed as your vehicle is going (e.g. if your slow, the music is slow)
I'm getting the goosebumbs hearing the police reports.
Back when I was a kid, I thought they were so cool! x)
I went to youtube today to review the 2017 games, but now I'm crying.
I almost cried watching this. Certain objects in the map gave me a flash backs. like the wood bridges just made me want to buy it all over again. If I could play ps1 online with specific friends I would be in heaven
Brings back memories when I was a kid :') I don't care if graphics were terrible that game was awesome !
That was one heck of a roadblock on Main Street!
Best NFS ever. That soundtrack brings back so many memories it sends chills all over mybody

No, this is on a PC (or on a mac in this case).
There was a version of NFS3 for the PS1, but it looked nothing like the PC version...
Had to watch this twice. Thank you for the memories
10/10
this is gonna make me cry😭 so many memories😭😍😭

Damn, I used to love the Scighera. I always used it
Yeah I know
It was just a concept car by Italdesign.
It's been 15 years since I last played this game. I remember well this "hometown" location very well as it is the first place I ever tried. What a memory
Damn, this is the game I played on Intel's machine where they released Pentium III.
Pentium II with Win 98 ... Ahh the sweet nostalgia !!
I had an overclocked celeron with a 16mb voodoo banshee 3d card and 64mb ram.. was a killer machine.. :D
happy childhood
This is the first racing game i played in my life. Memories....
I was a child.....and was so happy !
What a blast from the past, and I remember getting modded tracks, modded cars, and would race in school buses lol, or the 1966 Batmobile. Great times.
I still have this game on pc sitting around somewhere
it's old, but you can really feel the steering wheel, the controls are perfect.
This is... classic. If you call yourself a gamer-you have to know this! :)))
Every. Single. Piece. Of. Music. Is nostalgic.
Best NFS of ALL!!!!!!
Thanks for posting this! I had a demo of this game back in college--this makes me want to hunt it down and play it! I love how the rain drops hit the camera lens. I remember hearing the leaves rustle when driving by on other maps--such an immersive experience.
I miss this game so much. Just amazing. Best racing game ever.
easily best game in the series
I remember playing this game on pc growing up, it was amazing. I just watched a video before this one of the PS1 version and it looks so shitty compared to this, pc for life :P
I remember playing this game.. But I could play this route and the Forrest route because my cd was basically destroyed
Holy crap.. the nostalgia!!! This is the game I grew up with !!
My favourite track with my two favourite cars in that game: Lamborghini Diablo and Italdesign Schigera
Procedural music back in 1998. You can observe at 1:34 and 3:20 that the beat drops after the car exists the section with the trees as it approaches the finish line.
I played this in my childhood. So good game!
loved this track. played it over and over on pc
OMG THE NOSTALGIA IS HITTING ME.
Same here :)
Graphics are awesome for year 1998 !!!!!! :) Personal record on hometown with clk 1:14:15 !!!!
...suddenly so many memories of childhood come flooding back...phenomenal
you're good at this! and so was I! one my fav games EVER!
this need for speed was by far the best.
I spent more time on this than GTA V x')
Spent many hours in my younger days running this on a Pentium 2 with some brandless GPU... chasing that Diablo Pursuit car... never did unlock it though. :(
Kevin Walter my 1st computer back to 1999 pentium iii 450mhz cost about 1000USD back then... and nfs3 is almost my 1st pc game
Loved this game. I remember the PS1 version was such a letdown after playing this. Graphics were horrible and Hot pursuit "play as the cop" mode is not even present if I recall.
And also AI was hell.
Man this was my childhood right here 11 yrs old when when this came out.
Holly shit... the... NOSTALGIA.... It burnnnns.... :)
twee... tu... wan... gou...
ah the memories.
Good memories and well played too!
This game was so much better then hot pursuit II, in this game I remember getting like 3+ cop cars after me, in hot pursuit II most I could get was 2
what a brilliant game. used to play this for hours on end

Old times :'). And the best NFS! c:
I think it is cool how the parts of the song change when you get to different section of the track.
amazing quality, picture & the best NFS! respect!
Love the beatboxing chicken 😂
awww i played this so much with my dad when i was like 7.. Now i looked it up and i remember some parts of the maps
I had such good memories with NFS3. This video is definitely running with 3dfx voodoo hardware acceleration. I ran mine with voodoo 3 2000 back then, the game graphics was extremely atmospheric and great
good old times.. Thx for that :)
my school started from top gear to need for speed hp3 to the first underground to burn out take down, this game incredibly bow out my mind in ps1
My first racing game at 4 years old lol
One of my first, and favorite games ever. I loved how when you'd hit the gravel in 3rd person, it'd "chip" the screen. Wish I could find my copy :/
The nostalgia, man I love this game.
I loved this game so much, I use to play rocky pass 8 laps at night with weather and full field or cops. It was all about survival. Too bad the magic is gone these days. I have HP3 and yet to touch it, wanted to save that for a rainy day and see if there is a shred of hope.

Buena calidad del video y sonido, gracias por el video
Good quality video and sound, thanks for the video
I always loved running through hometown. its my favorite track but i mostly drove the Mercedes CLK GTR. Gotta love that car :)
the best start for "DIABLO" ever
Although this game was overshadowed by HP2, this was a great game and, in my opinion, it was much better than High Stakes.
A nice Challenge is:
Hometown + Night + Rain + Full Grid CLK-GTR.
Now the race for the 1st place is pretty hard!
Need for Speed 3 >>> Need for Speed: Rivals
"Congradulations you're most wanted!"
"Um...great..."
Now NFS3 fully supports widescreen resolutions without distortion of proportions.

+Evgeny Vrublevsky (VEG) Thats great, man! Awesome work. But do you got a torrent for the game itself? Best regards.
Evgeny Vrublevsky can you make this for a mobile phone I'll pay 10-15 bucks
Evgeny Vrublevsky 15 dollars if you can do it !
Atlanta City is my fav track, love swosching by the concreteblocks just inches from them in 120+
dat Doppler effect :)
i havent seen this game since more then 10 years... and everything looks so familiar, like the other car in the video... memories:)
Ah great ;) Maybe one of the best NFS ever made next to NFS4 HS
My best Gamee...
Maalesef artık yeni sistemler açmıyor.
Benim win 10
Congratulations, you are most wanted ;)
My 1. PC Game Ever :) That Nostalgia :)
this is so epic :D i remember i used to play this ALLLL the time when i was like 5 :P
My fave track!
Wow... It actually looks good on Glide! I remember that it had some weird perspective problems on non-Voodoo cards, textures were floppy, moving on objects as you've changed your viewing angle..
this was my favorite track of nfs 3
A lot of memories. Indeed!
Ahhh.. brings back good memories!
2018?
Hometown.. Where it all started..
20 years ago already!
When they asked permission to lay down a spike strip I yelled out "YEAH, SPIKE STRIP HIS ASS!"
Man, 3DFX glide was the best. It ran faster and looked better than either open GL or DX.
