Your sealer also has an enhancer that makes the tile a little darker.

Does this product work equally as well on traverine that is installed externally to the house? I have a sidewalk that is exposed to weather and a screened in porch that is not affected much by weather.

Where did you get the where did you get the tile and grout from? What were the colors you chose? Looks great!

I would polish that floor with 3000 grit diamond impregnated floor pad then apply the seal and enhance then the high gloss finish 511 products.

i would say most people don't want a high gloss finish on travertine. you want as natural stone look as possible.

This 511 product is petroleum base. If I use it and decide to use a water based product next time, will that cause a problem?

Did you order your travertine with a specific grout gap? That is, is it cut differently? Mine butts up online (french pattern) but if I install 3/8" gap, there is a misalignment.

Hi Ursula! Question for you: There are differing opinions about whether to grout BEFORE or AFTER sealing. In your case, you've applied grout first. Is there a reason for one or the other? Thanks!

We wanted to make sure to seal the grout as well. Which was why we applied the product after grout was in.

An experienced tile guy at Floor & Decor said that if your pre-mixed grout has stain protection in it then you can seal first. I guess it doesn't matter, and it depends on the exact look you want.

In the video, this professional installer likes to seal first because some grout can stain the tile. Also the tile can dry out the grout, so a sealer first will protect the tile.

@@JayZoop Okay, we sealed the tile then put in the grout. Now we will attempt to seal the grout. In the intervening time, though, we installed the kitchen! We live in an area where it's really hard to find products and to order via Amazon takes forever. Thank you.

Roland Salvato Sounds great. I always take the extra time and steps to do things right. Professionals try to limit their stops at a site so they may not come back to seal the grout. Or with the new technology some grouts don’t need to be sealed. But the one thing we know is “Seal porus tile before grouting.”
