@@clarkbaker8691it should by all means be negative. It barely even resembles cliffs of dover. And what he did do was sloppy. You're being wayyy to nice to say Shredding like a God.
Props for having a unique arrangement of Cliffs of Dover up your sleeveless shirt. Only another Guitar Player would request this. To actually play it note for note requires 6 months and 5 hours a day of practice but your version displayed your ripping chops!
Dovy you always make me smile. You always tell folks something to the effect of "I will play your request, though it may not sound note for note like the original artist, but it's my interpretation and I hope you enjoy my version". So boo to anyone who doesn't like his version because they say it does not compare to the original artist. I think he knows it might not sound like the original but he hopes we will enjoy it anyway.
Hi David Been wanting to tell you this for a long time. I am an old rocker from the 60s and had stopped playing guitar completely for various reasons but when I first saw you and what you were doing, you inspired me to go back to my roots and play again, now I do not perform any longer, but play for my own entertainment. I even build a studio to record a lot of the old songs I wrote, and some of the new ones I know you had some strife in your life and I hope you can overcome that anyway, Thank you again for being you. And for the inspiration you gave me. Best regards, Ralph.
Dovydas, you are far too humble about your guitar-playing abilities, I recently learned that Eric Johnson himself has made positive comments about your playing. I foresee the day when the great guitarists will consider it an honor and a privilege to have their songs "massacred" (if that is the correct term; I seem to recall you using that word yourself in your Quarantine Concerts) by you. It takes a lot of skill to cover a song exactly as the original artist performed it. It takes genius to make it almost an entirely new work, the way you do. Thank you for doing excellent work and for giving us an example of being "excellent to everyone".
The way you redefine a song is simply fantastic, a song that is already beautiful, I dare say, when it gets its clothes, it gets better, within your style and genius! It's always a pleasure to hear your presentations, your guitar has soul, personality, that's why it's very successful!
Incredible that you can pull off the flagship piece of one of the world's most technical guitarists "off the cuff". Was it note-for-note? Of course not but that wasn't the mission and I could tell immediately that you had a vision for what you wanted your version to sound like and you nailed it. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent.
You know you reached a level when you can "play around" with cliffs.of dover. Certainly no slouch and know your theory and composition. Awesome stuff man.
He said “I can kinda try to do it right now” Mission accomplished, albeit with a reggae beat, so whatever. You get what you pay for and none of us paid, so there!
For not even trying to play it right, but getting the vibe just right, this is quite impressive.😂 We'll, maybe not getting the vibe just right, because that was more of a reggae vibe, but it was really cool.
Sick version dude. Could you be so kind as to mention what equipment you’re working with? I want to open up a studio at my house and I need to know what equipment to use
Anybody saying this was bad because he didn’t play it note for note knows nothing about music. Doing what he did with no preparation was quite impressive.
Great job as always. Minor constructive criticism… I do wish Dovy would tweak his guitar tone. Personally I find it can get harsh and brittle- with too much reverb. But he’s an amazing and creative player.
Nope, I'm in Cali no snow, no rain. Have you ever heard the song "It never rains in California" Dovydas is in the warmest part of the state. I have friends in Newport Beach/Los Angeles area who go to the beach for Christmas and new years. I'm in nor cal its not as warm here. Have a very Merry Christmas!!
Me: “can we get Cliffs of Dover?”
Mum:”We have Cliffs of Dover at home”

Perfect. Glad I was seated or I might have fallen over laughing. He did good, though.
Dude is ripping it. But I was left waiting for cliffs of Dover 😂
Well Dovy, that’s not exactly how I remember it, but you nailed your version. Another superb performance 👍
Couldn’t shake the feeling that at any second you might bust out that riff from cliffs of Dover
Props for having a unique arrangement of Cliffs of Dover up your sleeveless shirt.

I guarantee if he sat down and listened to cliffs of dover he could probably play it note for note in a day aha dude is just wild
Not if you're a pro... Pros can nail it on the first sight read...
Look up the Jonas Anttila cover to hear what a cover can sound like

Nice stuff Dovy👍
Dude, you're a genius and deserve every dollar and smile earned.
unreal how the crowd can always remain so stoic when you're performing like this
Not sure what I heard whilst waiting for cliffs of Dover to start… but it was pretty sweet either way 😂😂😂
Not the exact version of the song, but he can definitely play a guitar for sure. Very talented all the way. Great job as always.

You did an AWESOME job making this jewel your version!!!! Eric would be proud!!!
This was beautiful, and a creative way to do a cover.

It's very different and unique ❤
Look y'all, it takes real talent to play cliffs of dover at all and this man played it backwards and inside-out!
Very clever to make that up on the spot.
Old heads used to hate electric guitar but now they’re just grateful someone’s playing an instrument.
Those guys are ancient heads now, guys like this grew up on electric guitar
