Well, in Swedish it's Tom Gus Mervolo Dolder so that it would be "Ego sum Lord Voldemort" in Latin because otherwise it would be "Jag är Lord Voldemort" in Swedish and it would just be weird and don't fit in😹 (hope you understand me, my English is just so bad)
In Dutch the names for the Harry Potter characters can be a bit odd too. We call Dumbledore: Albus Perkamentus. Perkament means parchment. Tom Marvolo Riddle becomes Marten Asmodom Vilijn. Also we call a wand a toverstok, which literally translates to magic stick.
@@kickintoforwardgear5653 Well the wand part would be weird considering that's a very English word and nobody would understand it. Why we translate the names is quite a mystery to me, but I can only guess it has to do so that children who read the books can read it better?
I'm French and I'm sorry for Eddie Redmayne but Norbert (translation of Newt) is a old-fashioned, it's a name of old people like Mr. Flamel ! But Eddie Redmayne cleans up this name, and Norbert is now a very sexy name ! You can pick up with !!
Like my comment to give me a sign if Lydia has ever interviewed RDJ! I remember she interviewed Mark Ruffalo for Thor Ragnarok last year, real fun. Now she gets Jude Law and she's working the room!
The interviewer is really nice ❤️
Thunderpuff. Lol❤️
What a delightful interview! The interviewer did a good job.
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!HE SAID "SILENTE"!!!I'm Italian so this is great😂
Aww, Humbledore is cute ❤
In french Tom Marvolo Riddle became Tom Elvis Jedusor, so that the anagram could work in the translation. 😅
Salivanh Khampraseuth Ikr 😂😂😂
Elvis?? wtf😂😂
In Italy it's Tom Orvoloson Riddle😅

Why can't you simply name them Wand or Dumbledore?

@@kickintoforwardgear5653 wand also means something else in Dutch already. It means wall in Dutch so it would be very weird.
We dutch people are sooooooooooo weird
@@helenaorije8789Oh yeah! Totally forgot about that. Yeah it would be weird to say wand then.
Thunderpuff is amazing 😂😂😂

I believe that these actors were cast with the help of the talking hat!!!!
What a sweet interview ☺️
I'd be a huffleclaw. I'm a loyal hufflepuff but I am smart xD
Actually, Goldstein is still Goldstein in France but the pronunciation is different. We say « Goldchtayn » something like that )
Well, I am a thunderpuff, those are my houses in Ilvermorny and Hogwarts.

Someone tell Jude that Albus Dumbledore in dutch is literally 'Albus Parchment'
i’m definitely Huffledor/Gryffinpuff (hufflepuff and gryffindor)
