      Thanks Heather! I'm glad you found it helpful! Once you realize how easy they are, you will want to put beads on everything! 😊

    Great progress and finish. Thank you for the bead tutorial. I've put of the beading and bearding of some of my Mill Hill kits because of this. I will give your technique a try. Thanks for sharing

      No need to put it off any longer! If you mess up, just undo undo and retry...it's the best part of stitching these because it makes them come to life! Have fun!

    I sewed a Mill Hill perforated paper to an old T- shirt then cut out the shirt that was behind the paper. That way I could stitch it in my hoop. I saw this trick on Floss tube. Your stitching is beautiful.

    • @calico_whimsy
      @calico_whimsy  4 роки тому

      Oh that's a great idea, too! Do you remember which flosstuber showed it?

    • @janetcompare9931
      @janetcompare9931 4 роки тому

      @@calico_whimsy no I'm sorry I don 't remember who it was. I just hand sewed the paper around the T-shirt and then cut the T-shirt about 1/4" from the seam. There was a wide enough boarder around the edge of the pattern so I didn't get to close to the seam of the T-shirt. I hope I explained that well enough. I hand sewed it because I was to lazy to get out my machine. My favorite Mill Hill is the pumpkin with the black beading on it. Happy Stitching

    Mill Hill maynia is a great idea! I did finish one Mill Hill santa for Maynia 😊. I actually just do all my beads with a half stitch - I’m probably lazy. Sewing fabric on the outside of the perforated paper is brilliant - thanks for the idea! Thanks for sharing your stitching and be well!

      It helps sooo much! I've had several people wanting me to do a quick tutorial on how I do it, but if you do any seeing at all, it's just the same as sewing two pieces of fabric together. Just use a long stitch length so it's easy to remove 😊

    Great wrap up! Your progress on the Halloween crows looks really nice! The Winged Monarch kit calls for 2 strands of floss for everything except for attaching the button. I thought 3 strands would look better, especially on the black, but I didn’t want to run out of floss. It was interesting to hear you say they recommended 3 strands. Do some say 2 and some say 3?

    • @calico_whimsy
      @calico_whimsy  4 роки тому

      Interesting about it calling for 2 strands! I didn't even notice that. Maybe it's just the small kits that call for 3. You have me curious now to go check my other bigger kits. 😊
