Team miley is the most interesting
The pairings:
Brooke Simpson vs. Sophia Bollman: Brooke is a four-chair-turn with an amazing voice, while Sophia is just a two-chair-turn with a so-so voice. Brooke's got this one.
Addison Agen vs. Karli Webster: Both are indie-pop singers, and both are two-chair-turns, so it could go either way. Addison has a stronger voice, so I'd like to say she takes it.
Chloe Kohanski vs. Ilianna Viramontes: Chloe's a three-chair-turn with an amazing, unique voice. Ilianna's a two-chair-turn with a good, though not great, voice. I'd say Miley's leaning toward Chloe, though I wonder why she paired a rocker girl with a pop/indie-pop girl?
Moriah Formica vs. Shilo Gold: Moriah's a four-chair-turn rocker girl with a powerful voice, while Shilo is a two-chair-turn with an okay voice. Miley won't dump Moriah. But really, Shilo should've been paired with Ilianna, and Moriah with Chloe.
Janice Freeman vs. Katrina Rose: Both are the oldest people on Team Miley (Janice is thirty-two, Katrina is thirty-four), so their pairing made sense. Even more sense is that they're also rockers (with Janice having a bit of a rock/R&B vibe). Janice was a shown, two-chair Blind, though, with a touching cancer backstory, while Katrina was a montaged, one-chair Blind, so I think Janice will win.
Ashland Craft vs. Megan Rose: Both are country girls with great voices, but I think Miley's going to give Ashland the nod. Not only is she a three-chair-turn to Megan's two-chair-turn, but her voice is just so much better.
Just my predictions.
I'm guessing Moriah and Chloe weren't paired because they're the better singers compared to their partners. Miley wants to keep them both in the competition, instead of ending up with one "okay voice" and one "powerful/good" voice when she can have both.
Another nice analysis, thank you! I rather agree with your predictions, to the exception perhaps of Karli-Addison... I adore them both, they were in my top 5 favorites from the blinds, but I think Karli's voice sounds a little more seasoned. As for Chloe and Moriah's pairings, like carmen rosewood I tend to think it might be a case of wanting to keep them both on the competition. Which I can understand, but when you don't pick the right match it doesn't make for the best battles, and your artists don't get to push themselves and to learn as much.
I think Karli sounds more seasoned too, she might win this round and Addison gets stolen.
Addison sure deserves to get stolen! I remember Adam said she was his favorite voice in the competition and I think it might be the same for me.
