I like Tallinn. I visited taking the ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn. The ferry I took was full of drunk Finns with pallet trucks looking to stock up on cheap booze 😂
Lovely video Matt. I agree Tallinn is divine - i really loved Estonia when i visited this january! I really fell in love with the place- all the pastel colours of the buildings was particularly beautiful i thought. Another great video, thanks for sharing! What was your favourite thing about Tallinn?
Thanks, it's always good to get a sunny day - makes everything look so colourful. I think my favourite part was seeing the old town which I'll show a bit more of in the next video. I was also fascinated by the Tallinna Linnahall but again I'll show that in a few videos time. I bet it was cold in January, did you get any snow? What was your favourite part of the city?
@MattWhitingsEurope yes, when I went there were a few piles of snow as tall as me! And just layers of thick crunchy snow everywhere. I was filled with glee stomping about in the snow for the first few days, as its such a rare thing to experience snow like that here in England. I don't think I had a favourite part per se, but I definitely loved all the windy colourful streets 😊
Thanks for the nice video! Tallinn is my favourite city in Europe! There's always new things to see when I visit it! I want to point out some facts. Estonia was first invaded by the Soviets (because of the Hitler-Stalin pact) in 1940, then in 1941 invaded by the Nazis and then in 1944 again by the Soviets and occupied till 1991. About the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, it's just a symbol of Russian imperialism and it has nothing to do with Estonian culture at all. It's just a spy center of the KGB next to the Estonian parlament (look it up, the Russian priests were all atheists in the USSR and are now spies) Instead of the Cathedral the Estonians wanted to place the first public Luther Monument there but the Russians didn't allowed it so it was placed in Keila instead in 1862 and the Russians built the Cathedral there in the 1890s. And in 1949 the Soviets destroyed the Luther monument and melted it into a Stalin statue which is nowadays on display to see in the Soviet Statue Graveyard close to the Victims of Communism Memorial.
Thanks for the information, very interesting to read. I can totally relate to it being one of those cities where you always find something new every time you visit. Thanks for watching.
My dude goes to Estonia and puts a picture as a thumbnail of the least Estonian building ever. It's like going to Sweden and picturing it with a mosque.
Visited Tallinn , fortunately wit less tourist invasion . So it was nice to see it again. Just this stupid music got on my nerves ........senseless and absolutely no connection ......
@@MattWhitingsEurope Sorry , but there is no place without being under the rain of this computer -"music" !!!!!! I love music , but ...there is a wider range to select from or .....leaving it !
No worries, music is completely subjective. Everyone resonates with something slightly different and that's what makes it so amazing. I really enjoyed the song in this video and thought it fitted the scene perfectly but it's okay that you hated it (although I'd prefer it if you loved it too 😊). Have a great day.

Well done friend. It’s rare in my UA-cam experience to have a channel that is informative and original. 👍🏻👏🏻✌🏻🤙🏻
Do you recommend a walking tour?
Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed it. I took my tour with estadventures.ee/ and thought it was excellent. Hope that helps.

Haha that's funny. I've heard of a booze cruise but not bringing along your own pallet trucks 😂. I saw some of those ferries coming in!

That's a good story about the women in those dresses not wanting to admit which one was the oldest. Women haven't changed in hundreds of years LOL
I loved that story too 😂

The other perspective is that it's a video about Toompea Hill and the cathedral is one of the most prominent buildings there.
