This is handy for me since I fly with my bike a lot. Airlines don't allow co2 in baggage & I don't want to shop for cartridges in every city I fly to, then toss them before returning home. This takes up less space than 2 co2s take, so that's a plus. My floor pump is for daily use, so I don't have to charge the cycplus very often.
Charging isn't a big deal, you charge your phone, your light, gps, speedometer, ear buds, go pro. All these electronics typically come with a cord so pick an outlet, I actually have a charge pack permanently attached to the bike. With the plentiful brambles on the trails in this region and my luck with tires I was in the market for some insurance. I did some quick research on c02 until discovering this cube, roughly the size of my charge pack and a portable hand pump as a plan B.
I’ll stick to CO2its expensive and the amount of flats I get,it will discharge by the time I need it again. Also like you said, one more thing to charge.
As rare as it is for me to actually to use a CO2. And how much faster the CO2 is… CO2 wins all day. Factor in the price and having to make sure it needs to remain charged. Big fat nope.
For the price of this I can buy maybe 100 co2 cartridges, I have not had 100 flats in my life yet, don't think I've had 50. So I would rather just keep using co2.
Seems like a good idea but you've hit the spot. Charge your watch, gps, lights, derailleur, pump.. by the time I charge everything I don't want to go out anymore.
A manual pump, even a mini pump, will inflate your tire equally fast, or slow if you like, and is inexpensive, never needs charging, and will inflate endless tires as long as you can keep your arm going, so don't be scared of doing a tiny bit of manual work.
I still carry a mini pump. I just don't carry CO2. A mini pump with 2.6 tires takes a long time. This is much faster but not a mini pump replacement IMO.

Excellent review. Thank you.

I just got this cube and so far it blows up a 29er 2.5 no prob CO2 is hard to come by and a traditional pump dosent work on a rail 9.9

The number 1 question is, will it have a reliable charge after 6 months stored in my saddle bag?
I am sure there has to be at least a little falloff like most batteries.

Yeah to my point it would take 55 flats to break even. This is more consistent which adds value but that is up to individual need.

With co2 i can reseal the beat on my tyre …. Not sure if with this pump
No way will it reseat a tyre.
does it have enough volume to seat a new tyre?
I think it would depend on the setup. It doesn’t have that high pressure pop that some need. It slows down as the pressure goes up.

How did you determine the amount of pressure being put in?
Topeak pressure gauge.

Any idea how many decibels it is?
No but I do have a decibel meter that I might be able to test it with. It's conversational level I'd say.
First priority, can it move enough air quickly to reseat a 2.4" x 29" tyre onto the rim bead?
No!
CO2 winner!
