For many people kitchen gardens are a hobby, but also a very practical addition to their standard of living giving mental heal benefits and can offer savings compared to buying everything. You're also likely to have better nutritional meals when you have fresh items directly from your own garden and have worked to grow them.
It's always a different feeling when you have grown yourself the ingrediens compared to just picking them from a grocery store. That alone can be a significant motivation.

@@Ilona_Ke Solanum nigrum is a highly variable species with many varieties and forms described. Some varieties are considered poisonous including the one found in Finland.
It's always dangerous, even if technically correct, to use names which can be referring to both editable and poisonous varies. Someone can get confused and get hurt using poisonous ingredients in their food.

Suomessa mustakoisoa tavataan satunnaiskasvina pihoilla, puutarhoissa, joutomailla ja satamissa Etelä- ja Keski-Suomessa.
Mustakoiso (Solanum nigrum) on myrkyllinen perunan ja tomaatin sukulainen. Koko kasvi on myrkyllinen, mutta aiheuttaa harvoin oireita.
      Mustakoisossa on mm. solaniinia.

On syöttävä.

I suggest not to call African Nightshade alias Managu with the same name as Mustakoiso in Finland since they are different plats with probably significant differences in toxicity. It's safer to keep them separately named so no one gets seriously confused.
I found the following online. Don't know how reliable it is:
The Managu varieties grown in East Africa for home consumption include:
Solanum Eldoreti - Solanum Eldoreti grows well in high altitude areas. It has broad leaves and produces small fruits that are purple in color.
Solanum scabrum - Solanum Scabrum has bi leaves, grows well in areas that receive medium-altitude regions with high amounts of rainfall. It produces fruits that are black in colour when ripe.
Solanum Americanun - Solanum Anericanum produces small black fruits and grows well in areas with high humidity.
Solanum Villosum - Solanum Villosum produces small orange fruits that are edible. It does well in low altitude areas.
Is the variety you grow one of these and how well it frowns in your climate in Lahti?
I assume it's growing significantly slower, though I understand that I might be wrong. Does it grow differently, getting different flavor or some other different quality?
