Over the Edge 1999, Vengeance: Night of Champions 2007, and WrestleMania 36 immediately come to my head when it comes to cursed events. It’s such a shame when real life events can truly affect a show’s performance.🙁
There was a level of surreal irony that Over the Limit so similar to Over the Edge, they both shared the "Over the" I remember Over the Edge that night. Some trauma kicked in because even I knew it was cursed before it happened, I cut the TV off because I was so scared for everyone involved. It also didn't help the event was held on May 23, 2010, when Owen Hart passed away on May 23, 1999. Haunted forever.
I remember ordering Over The Edge on PPV. For me, Owen’s death didn’t sink in until RAW the next night since WWE continued the show like nothing happened.
@@DDJReactsEddie was 2006 but Owen I agree on but we all know that's just a fantasy as the Hart family doesn't want Owen in the hall of fame as they felt his death was unpurpose.
1:45: About Survivor Series... I'm still wondering if Iyo Sky fainting at the end was a work or if she was actually feel a bit sick, considering the unusual slow and imprecise pace she had during the match
Over The Edge is easily no 1 in this list with Owen Hart's tragic death . This is the major important reason why WWE will never bring this show back forever . RIP
Actually Owen didn't die though til after he left the building and it was on the Ambulance Ride to the Hospital is where he died. As Owen was still alive when he left the Kemper Arena.
I don't know if it was the sheer novelty, but a part of me enjoyed 'mania 36. Maybe because I've always been interested in the mechanics of a production, but being able to hear the wrestlers, instead of them being drowned out by the crowd, made for what was, for me, interesting viewing. I realize anything said would likely have been scripted, but there was also the chance of something happening that would force them to go off script. It was a (hopefully) once in a lifetime chance to get a peek behind the curtain, so to speak, even after the wrestlers walked through one to get there.
Yeah - I had the same experience with other sports. Suddenly being able to hear the players, trainers, staff and refs talking even without a mic instead of constand crowd noises was definitly interesting.
Yep and the MLB for the last few years does that by Mic'n up certain players during the game as WM 36 wasn't Cursed as it still went on no matter what if there was no paying FANS there but the True Total Attendance for that WM would be whomever was on the Staff working that Event so unless there is a list of whom worked that event it wasn't Zero but at least 50-100 people In Attendance as WWE Employees are also FANS so it was around 50-100 for that show. I thought WM 36 was also good for what is was!
Apart from the obvious Over the Edge 1999, IYH : Beware of Dog in 1996 can deserve a mention as the ppv was cursed by harsh weather leading to a power failure that drastically impared the quality of the show to the point where the WWF was forced into redoing the PPV the following day.
Actually that IYH: Beware OF Dog was Finished that Following Tuesday not Monday as RAW went on but instead of discussing them Matches they ran promos n such then Finished on Tuesday instead as a Special!
WM 36 or elimination chamber 2022 where both wrestlers (madcap and i believe it was jey uso) were wrestling a match while beeing injured...that was cursed
Begin with Royal Rumble 2008 - Royal Rumble 2011. No one winner from Royal Rumble who gain championship match shot at Wrestlemania win. Ironically the cursed RR2008 are the same curse event held in Madison Square RR2000 where The Rock win and failed to win championship match at Wrestlemania 2000 too.. Kind of suspect of horror
Over the Edge 1999 is more cursed because of the death of the late Owen Hart than any other PPV with multiple injuries and match cancellations. As a result, the "Over the Edge" name has been dropped from history books and discontinued by WWE since it happened.
With mania 36 that was awkward has Covid was really starting to get bad at the time. They were 3 weeks or so into the Covid pandemic. I give wwe credit for trying to do what they could with it. Just it was awkward espically the raw and smack down as well
WM 19 had its problems. Brock almost breaking his neck. Angle’s neck barely holding together through his match. Austin having medical issues that caused him to be hospitalized. Also there was a PPV in the mid 90’s. I think it was an In Your House. During the show there was a bad storm outside and they lost power and the feed.
Could definitely tell something went wrong when Lesnar attempted that Shooting Star Press. An amazing match though. Despite the hiccup. Kurt Angle wasn't initially planned to have the title by Wrestlemania. He was going to drop it to Brock on an episode of Smackdown so he could have the surgery but postponed it because of a neighbour kid. I couldn't imagine any other match main eventing the show at the time.
You guys should make a video of wrestlers who won most of their matches (as a percentage). Then you could also do wrestlers who lost most of their matches
Its crazy Cena and Orton had practically every match type imaginable including 2 Hell in a Cell matches, but they never did do a Last Man Standing match after the No Mercy 2007 one was cancelled. Batista and Mark Henry's whole 2006 feud was cursed. As soon as it started, Batista got injured. Then when he came back to get revenge, Henry was injured. Then when Henry returned, it was dropped. I don't think they ever had a proper blowoff.
No Mercy 2007 turned out to be a good thing for Orton, becoming wwe champion twice in one night and having a nice title run cementing himself as the top guy
Am Ear drum injury can happen in any match that’s why we wear headgear when we wrestle in school and Olympics. Same as hand injury.. good job trying to put over the war games concept though.
Well obviously they couldn't hold WM 36 with crowds. I mean, what could anybody do? We were in the middle of a pandemic. So to say that its going to talked about for years to come sounds ridiculous because just like everything else, we couldn't hold events in public places. WWE was no different.
The TLC 2017 changes were blessings, not curses. A supernatural mess with Bray Wyatt in drag and Finn painted as a pumpkin? Or AJ Styles vs Finn Balor? You decide...
What was the reason for the enzyme level thing between three completely different wrestlers who probably didn't travel together or even interact with one another?
As much as I enjoy this channel. Its kinda funny how they made the comment about leaks ruining Wrestlemania 36 When this channel makes videos leaking anything they can get new wise for views. Just kinda ironic xD
Surprised WM 19 is not on the list; when the PPV was live you can hear a producer say when camera shows the building "alright now shoot the crowd" (got edited out on WWE Network and Peacock), there were several injuries, several botches, Triple H kept reminding Booker T that "people like you don't get world titles" (also edited out of WWE Network and Peacock versions), and a few technical difficulties happened.

Over the Edge is the top cursed ppv of all time
not mania though, nothing happened there except covid
Wm 36 is underrated
@Pop11n H34dz lmao
is vengeance the one where they did the chris benoit tribute?
Nothing will ever be worse than Over the Edge 1999.
Straight Facts 100%
Notice that was the last time over the edge was a ppv because of that
Owen hart's death was tragic😔

It was the first ever PPV I had ordered. I had a house full of friends and we were all shocked when it happened
@Billion that probably would have been the best wrestlemania of all time
@Billion who cares
To this day I have not rewatched Raw is Owen
WM 16 comes in mind with no Stone Cold & Undertaker but great that both Rock & Triple H become top stars by carried the company in their absence
Rock was already a top star prior to Wrestlemania 16.
Yea yu're right, I always thought that should've been a one on one Main Event wit Rock vs Trips!
This is a much better card , so bad it couldn't happen
R.I.P. Owen Hart 🙏
Both Eddie and Owen Hart should be in 2023 hall of fame again😔

What's creepy about it is Owen falls from the rafters at an event called Over The Edge.. like over the edge literally
Rumor is this is why the pay per view was named over the edge was referring to Owen’s incident
WM 36 was forgettable ppv of all time . Feel sad for Drew McIntyre that he never got fans reaction to see him becoming World Champ
A series of unfortunate events.

I thought 2007 night of champions would be on the list because of the match with Chris Benoit and how it was changed
How about every match with Chris Benoit aka a child murderer
Wrestlemania 32. Injury mania was running wild that year.

Atleast great that AJ Styles vs Finn Balor match happened . These two former Bullet Club member alone steal the show at TLC 2017
I feel we need another top 10 PPQ that were cursed cause there’s just so many
WM 32 was indeed cursed ppv due to every wrestlers injuries . Only best match on that show was Sasha Banks vs Charlotte vs Becky match

The boneyard match at WM 36 was pretty good for what it was worth, and it brought us the Undertaker behind AJ Styles meme
Was alone to loving No Mercy 2007? That was innovating.
The Last Man Standing Match was the one that made Orton the top guy. It's still one of my favorite matches to rewatch from time to time
Royal Rumble 2023 is still amazing ppv

I’m SOOO glad Wyatt didn’t have to go through with that sister Abigail crap
Survivor Series WarGames was well received show
I know it’s just a WWE list, but AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door 2022 deserves an honorable mention. So. Many. Injuries.
Triple H wrestling THRICE made No Mercy 2007 entertaining, awesome and memorable. That Last Man Standing match between him and Orton was 🔥.

It's a shame about Rick Boogs' injury cuz the Smackdown tag match was really picking up steam when he got injured.
