@@snowgloberescue8887 oh, it’s bad… And this is why I don’t play with glitter and crafting. First I didn’t have the globe stabilized in a trustworthy location, so while putting the glitter in it… it tipped and spilled over the counter. Second was trying to put the stopper in and there was too much water and while pushing down it slipped and the pressure made it spurt out at me. 😱🤦🏻♀️🤣
I worked for the San Francisco Music Box Co. for several years. Needless to say, I own several! Thank you so much for your instruction. I can hardly wait to start!!
I have this exact glob with the same problem. The horse is partially separated from the rubber stopper. Already taken it apart and now ready to assemble. Boy the thing you work on when you're retired. Very Very helpful.
I have so many San Francisco Music Box Co Christmas snow globes from the 90s and early 2000s that I want to display but the water is disgusting. I would really like to get them cleaned out to display once again.
You found the right channel! We have over 100 videos most of them are snow globe repairs. We have many San Francisco Music Box Company snow globes, however, they are repaired the same way most other globes are. We're sure you will find some videos that will help you get them fixed and it's easy, anyone can do it. Also, you can always drop us a comment if you have any questions. How can I purchase the rubber plug for the snow globe. I have three I need to replace because the rubber are deteriorate. Please help me fine where I can purchase them.
Hi. We get all of our replacement stoppers (plugs) by disassembling other old snow globes that we use for parts. We have not been able to find a company that sells just stoppers. We found companies that sell replacement globes that come with stoppers but not the stopper itself. Check out Alibaba.com. You will have to buy a globe to get the stopper, however, you can do what we do and check the thrift stores and flea markets and garage sales for old used snow globes that you can get cheap, take apart and use the stopper to fix your globes
Would you be interested in purchasing some that I have? I have a carousel horse that is #1/4500. Others are not that impressive. Will try to send pics. I'm not technology competent, but I'm trainable! Let me know. Suzanne
Hi. We actually stopped buying snow globes about two months ago because we ran out of storage space. We have 574 snow globes in storage waiting to be fixed. We had them stored in three separate locations until we secured this new storage area and were able to consolidate them. That's when we realized exactly how many we have. We appreciate the offer but it will be some time before we are able to take on any more.
The clear glue is to make the water denser so that the snow or glitter fall slower. There are other options; plain water, glycerine, and baby oil. We do a side by side comparison of the four options in Episode 32. The glue is the option that works out best for us.
Possibly. It depends on how the mechanism works, what went wrong, and will it need replacement parts and are those parts available. We have two videos where we fix snow globes that have snow circulation systems. They are Episode 115 and Episode 76. We will send the links. Hopefully they help answer your question.
I love that music, one of my favorite carousel horse music box, tune is that was friends are for by Rod Stewart, and horses are my animal.
Nice. Rod Stewart, that is cool! We agree, horses are great. We have many carousel horse snow globes.
