Nice, I got some jerry cans similar to that when a surplus store opened here in town years ago. Guy was selling them for 20 bucks each. I keep them treated with Stabil and rotate them out after a year. Makes for easy storage and they are way overbuilt so you cant screw them up
I wish I grabbed some from my dad before he passed away. He had about 20 of the old school US made extra heavy duty jerrycans. He even had some used for water. After he passed I asked his wife if I could have them. Sure...She says. Found out later, when I asked her about them, that the step monster gave them away at a damn garage sale. I’ll look for these. Thanks for sharing.
I use the same cans. They can and will rust. They do swell. One got so much rest in it that it poured out a river of rust. I use dirt bike off road gas cans, they go for 100 for 4. I Recommend pri-g.
You have the CELG cans that have had rust and swelling problems? I know all metal can rust after time but never heard of such problems with the CELG NATO cans.
Step One survival I didn't think you would just never heard of those type problems out of genuine NATO can. I have never had any problems out of any of mine over the years. Thanks for sharing the feedback.
All of these videos on the Scepter NATO jerry cans are new not used cans. people should really take stuff outside and use it. one didn't last a year, the other might make it to two. "NATO" putting slurp on poop don't make it pancakes. take it easy brother
Thanks for the info. I have had good luck with mine over the years. I gave one to a friend not long ago that was probably 20 plus years old with no issues. Post up a video showing one of these cans and the issues you had with them. Like you channel!!
I really miss the surplus USGI plastic fuel containers but lucky I found two at local flea market for $20 each several years ago. I keep one of those Mr. Funnels with the fuel cans, takes out the junk/water from them but also treat it with PRI-G for long term storage. I've used 89 octane that was 5 years old in my jeep with no noticeable knocking or power loss. There is also a coating one can use for the inside of the cans, was really popular on the preparedness groups a few years ago because all people could find were rusted out fuel cans.
I use gasoline caddies as part of my hurricane preparation (For use in generators and chainsaws etc.) I fill them every July. The caddies come in 15 and 30 gallon sizes and usually have wheels. I add 1 to 2 ounces of Stable for every 5 gallons of ethanol. After Hurricane season I use the stored fuel in my vehicles. For safety purposes, I store the gasoline in a shed separate from my house. One cup of gasoline creates enough vapor to generate an explosive force equivalent to five sticks of dynamite. So be careful where you store your fuel.
On the GELG website product range only stainless steel cans 20 ltr are green .... you see my thoughts are marketing for camping want you to pay a small fortune by buying one that states for drinking water . These are stated can be used for automotive gardening , healthcare ,sailing, army and construction
If you look closely the "spot weld" you are referring to is because these are not solid across that area as some other designs. Some are solid across that area with a solid weld. Because of the cutout design on these no real way or need for a solid weld.
That's how you do it. There are some websites that list all the gas stations around the country that sell fuel with no ethanol. It's worthwhile. I keep that stuff for me genny and small engines.
Definitely not the real deal, it's a copy. Gets the job done, and the price is certainly much more affordable, but not authentic military gear... The welds sticking out like that are the quickest visual giveaway to copys.
That looks like the China made. The weld doesn't look like it fully recessed and the handles are only spot welded. Look at the Wavian the weld is fully recessed and handle welds are full across not tack.
I've used the plastic type but they lose shape and leak.. I figure if I can't store spring water I collect monthly in them then use them to simply transport it .... any feedback would be greatly appreciated
No doubt Wavian is good (I own some) but they are not half the price of these. These are built slightly different but are great quality made in a NATO spec factory. For the price these are hard to beat.
They say that if the interior of the can is treated with anticorrosion stuff water can deteriorate it (but not gas). So you could be consuming the corrosion barrier. Unless it’s for non-potable use or you treat it after pouring it out of a can
I’m calling this can fake. 1. Exposed weld around the can 2. W instead of Wavian 3. Great value half off= fake Weld around the cap is pretty bad. Dude I think you got a fake.
Sorry but these are not "fake" these are made by GLEG USA. Wavian is ALSO a US manufacture that makes a high quality cans. Wavian is not the only one that makes quality cans. Mine are still going strong with no issues. www.gelgusa.com/jerry-cans/
That is not a genuine/authentic NATO can. YES, it has many of the same characteristics of a genuine/authentic NATO can but it is not one. Genuine/authentic NATO cans are made in Latvia by a company called Valpro. If you out that can through the same tests as a genuine/authentic can, it will fail. Please change the title of your video to something along the lines of "cheap look cool substitute."
Please do your homework. You do realize there is more than one company that makes NATO spec jerry cans and GELG and Valpro/Wavian are two of them? www.gelgusa.com/#:~:text=NATO%20JERRY%20CANS,for%20use%20on%20NATO%20missions. US made "gerry cans" suck. They don't have the same style opening.
I use the same cans. They can and will rust. They do swell. One got so much rest in it that it poured out a river of rust. I use dirt bike off road gas cans, they go for 100 for 4. I Recommend pri-g.

Guns and Gear Network I wouldn't lie about it brother. Take care

I have 8 of the Wavian cans and i rotate them into my truck tank every 2 months.
On the GELG website product range only stainless steel cans 20 ltr are green .... you see my thoughts are marketing for camping want you to pay a small fortune by buying one that states for drinking water . The spot-welding of the handle to the tank makes us a little suspicious of there authenticity...🤔

I’ve been using pri-g and used 4 year old fuel that started with no ethanol in it. I’ve experienced no issues.
That's how you do it. There are some websites that list all the gas stations around the country that sell fuel with no ethanol. It's worthwhile. I keep that stuff for me genny and small engines.
WTH? The welds around the entire can should be flat. Looks like these stick out like a lip. Made in China?
Definitely not the real deal, it's a copy. Gets the job done, and the price is certainly much more affordable, but not authentic military gear... The welds sticking out like that are the quickest visual giveaway to copys.
Think GGN gets kick back on this video. These ARRE NOT NATO/PL/G cans. they are china copy
I hate all the new cans that have the stupid valves on them, in America.
CARB. Yet another reason to hate Kalifornia.
I hate them too. I miss those old school round metal red ones with the yellow spout we all used as kids.
With respect to that hose... you really should get a proper spout for it. A good spout has an air hole and it empties the can in under a minute.
I have one but never use it. I prefer the siphon hose.
That looks like the China made. The weld doesn't look like it fully recessed and the handles are only spot welded. Look at the Wavian the weld is fully recessed and handle welds are full across not tack.
Not made in China, made in Poland.
@@GunsandGearNetwork No not PL. W is wrong, Welds are not apporved.
I've used the plastic type but they lose shape and leak.. I figure if I can't store spring water I collect monthly in them then use them to simply transport it .... any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Wavian. Better made with no spot welds and half the price.
No doubt Wavian is good (I own some) but they are not half the price of these. These are built slightly different but are great quality made in a NATO spec factory. For the price these are hard to beat.
It not waivian so save your money and get the real deal!!
They are GELG and are also NATO standard .
Could I use the GELG can for drinking water ? And if not why not ?
I wouldn't, they are not designed for drinking water.
They say that if the interior of the can is treated with anticorrosion stuff water can deteriorate it (but not gas). So you could be consuming the corrosion barrier.

You sir are mis-informed. Mine are still going strong to this day.
Yep Fakes.
