Luka is so underrated on both ends of the floor. Hes clearly the mvp but nobody wants to give him that

@@AkumaClaps He can also as easily be 7-9. What most people don't realize about Timmy is that other teams fear the chance that he goes into flamethrower mode and that's a weapon. Even when he's 0-4 he can end up 4-9. Their defense have to respect that and it opens up a realm of possibilities for Luka and Kai to take advantage of.

The championship Mavs team had two poor defenders but made it work. A solid on ball defender, solid post defender and a versatile guy can work. Luka and kyrie with Exum, PJ and Gafford can be really solid
Its just so good having a bunch of players who can really get up there. Lively, Gafford and Jones Jr each have a higher vertical than the past 10 years of Mavs rosters combined lol.
The amount of offensive rebounds this team is getting now is wild.

And we're all ignoring the improvements Luka made since last season (I already called his MVP during the world cup last summer), he got fitter, he got better in every segment, he's biting on defense, he doesn't look as gassed as he used to even though he often plays 40+ minutes... So he became even better, he's the best player in the world, he got help where they needed it most, in the paint, in defense + Kyrie and him built some chemistry and it can only get better with Washington and Gafford until playoffs. They're CONTENDERS!
also, to add, luka's teammates often just have to play 4v3 when he inevitably gets doubled, now they have much better players for that
If they stay healthy, I don't see a team that can beat them in a 7 game series.
And once the playoffs start, we all know Luka hits another gear unlike anyone in the game right now.

If both teams are healthy, I don't think so. Jokic won't be having a field day against the Mavs anymore, because he won't be going against Powell or Kleber, but Gafford and Lively. He is still better than both of those guys, but at least they are bigger and stronger than Powell or Kleber so that's something to keep in mind.
And that's about it when it comes to advantages for Denver. Head to head the rest of the players on both teams are comparable and I don't see Denver having any advantage.

Luka has become my favlrite player in the league this year. The last few years have been Jokic, but what Luka has been doing, and the age he's doing it at is just insane. I just really hope Kyrie can stay healthy for the playoffs. That's the only thing that's going to hold them back
People forget he cut his teeth playing with Lebron. Kyrie knows how to move without the ball from that and lets not act like he didn't get a PHD from him. He knows how to do it and he's aware enough that he knows that Luka is an all timer and swallows his ego to allow him to cook

Luka is such an underrated defender. I've seen him pick up players from 1-5 and giving them hell to get off some ugly shots. And this happens every game. People that say he's a liability on defense simply don't watch the game only some clips on social media.

Luka's post defense is underrated. He is also averaging a career high 1.5 steals per game this season. The Luka plays no defense narrative is slowly but surely getting destroyed.
Steals dont mean you play good d. If you go for risky steals on every posession, you might get a few steals, but when it doesnt work, its a free bucked. You cant sum up a players entire defensive effort in 1 basic stat lol

Love how you showed TOP (Time of Possession) stat for Kyrie. Kyrie has LESS TOP and LESS dribbles per touch than the off ball god, Steph Curry. Yet everyone treats Kyrie like he's some ball dominant, dribble the air out of the ball, ball hog. It's a straight lie.
Nobody treats Kyrie like that lol. When he played in Cleveland with LeBron, it was clear how quickly and efficiently Kyrie could score. What messed up his reputation was the Boston experiment. No one mentions how hard the Mavs road has been at all. You will see it even in ESPN , they are scared to even mention Luka properly because they know how volatile the opinion is cause after all its foundation are all their bias narratives.
