Maybe I'll ask you why, it's so in season No matter how I try all I need is loving And your heart will never wonder why Or even try for nothing, The only thing that I have done Is live my life to feel the sun Where am I? And where can I begin? This time I'll try In time I'll try to win Now I know if I try, there's seven reasons And they all seem alive Because I know they're tearing us apart All the things I did for you I never saw them through The only feelings that live on Melt inside in spite the sun Where am I? And where can I begin? This time I'll try The shining path of sin Where am I? And where do I fit in? Although I wonder if it's true It floats through me but lives in you Just when I'm feeling so hot That Heaven seems a mile below I saw through the pain in your eyes Hold me, together Sometimes the truth's a failure Squeezing life from you and me Just hold me to stop these feelings, I'm falling Where am I? And where can I begin? This time I'll try The shining path of sin Where am I? And where do I fit in? Although I wonder if it's true It floats through me but lives in you
Got the whole album on a freakin' cassette and nothin' to play it on! So, really nice one for the upload! A really under-sung album, rocked my world anyways! :)
thanks for mentioning "tighten up". i had never heard it before, but checked it out upon your recommendation. great song. with each project of barney and hook, i find myself looking for clues as to who contributed what to new order and joy division. i think barney has a knack for creating melodies, and his songs tend to have more of a drive. hook is more about atmosphere, and is a bit more dreary and gritty. but hey, that's just my opinion. i could be totally wrong!
Off topic but is the picture sleeve from One True Passion on the credits of True Detective? I'm sure I saw it? I remember seeing Revenge at the Calton Studios in Edinburgh, supported by the Wendys. Tony Wilson dancing his arse off on his own to the Wendys in a stone coloured suit and Travel Fox trainers. Not sure what he was on but think it might have been the night the Wendys signed to Factory! Hmm, 52nd Street anyone...
Hook seemed to have kept to the emotion of Joy Division and New Order with Revenge. Great song with a simple melancolic melody. Always prefered Revenge to Electronic even though Barney did some good songs with Electronic such as Idiot Country and Tighten up.
Always loved this song!! Thanks for uploading.
Peter Hook I Love You

Had the other version of this on a cassette from Select magazine back in the 90's called "The Trouble with Girls"

I always thought he said Melt in Silence with the sun.
beautiful song beautiful melodies.Peter Hook at his best
Best song of the album. With proper production it would have been a hit. Maybe time for somebody to cover it.
I need the rest of this
wow this brings back memories
Been looking for this one for a long time...Thanks for posting, great track! :)

This track would've been a new order top 10 if they'd made it. And hooky shouldve sung more in New Order
First revenge song I've heard that I liked

Rough Trade, Music for the 90s, Vol 2 in 1990.
The Light
This was originally called The Trouble With Girls.

Monaco and Bad Liutenant
Is this a joke? Revenge sucked while thè first Electronic album soared.
Lovely song, but the album cover looks like a "Spinal Tap" attempt to look Rock N Roll.😆
Freebass
