Their use of guitars if anything is a breath of fresh air. It's really impressive. They don't need solos or any of that fancy stuff. They created a masterpiece without em'
boyjovenbeats melodic structure and harmonies are crazy intense, like you'd think they had enormous levels of production, but they were just 'on' so heavy in this period. If one has ever made music, music made and produced via feel has this next level quality that is well demonstrated here
severely underrated band! excellent live! and the lead singer was at my sisters wedding! many fond memories of watching these young lads performing live. This is my absolute favorite song by them
Definitely one of my favorite songs along with my favorite album, I enjoy we all have demons but this was my first ever The Color Morale song I ever heard, Know Hope was good too and I enjoyed several songs from Hold On Pain Ends, but overall I am proud of how Garret is still producing great music :)
The lyrics to the first line are "Heavens have been forever crowding" How is this possible?!?! It is very clear that the word dark is being used. Perhaps somewhere along the lines of "how's the dark been, forever crowding" Please tell me I'm not the only one who has thought of this, he does not say "Heavens have been" or so it sounds like at all.
it could also be the venue. The last three venues in a row that I've been to to see TCM at they were super beat down and you could barely hear the vocalist for any of the bands that played.
Garret has a similar voice to jonny, but in all honesty I'd rather listen to Garret over Jonny. And fuck whoever said he's awful live. He's amazing, and inspirational. It comes from the heart when he's up there.
@dillon4L you can do it. just pretend your clearing your throat. then try to sing like that. its kind of hard to describe over text, but it works. i got it down :)
I absolutely love Jonny Craigs' voice, and I instantly think of him when I hear this particular 'The Colour Morale' song, although I think Garrets' voice is actually better!!!
I really fucking agree with that. I guess it definently goes with there regular style, and I am afraid if they start playing into solos and shit, they may lose their style. But I hear you, it would be good to see him play up on some Of Mice and Men " this ones for you" style shit.
That's a matter of opinion. Sure, it's cool... but solo after solo just gets a bit redundant. The finesse comes with the creativity of the artist and the sounds that they use to shape their music. As for the Color Morale here, it is a bit more harmonious and where as for me when I listen to the music, it has character and emotion. Not just lyrically, musically.
He does resemble Jonny Craig in this track, and trust me, I've listened to a LOT of Jonny Craig. Listen when he sings "Bury me in a whole in the sky, not in my mind." Anyway, Garrett really impresses me. Definitely one of the best vocalists in the genre. It really sucks that this band is being pigeonholed into a corner since this genre is being butt-fucked by hundreds of wannabe bands. Only if these guys showed up earlier.. they would've got the attention they deserved.
DO you know how hard singing and screaming live is? Its complete hell, especially doing it night after night. I notice that your wearing a We Came As Romans shirt, We came as Romans singer is awful live. Maybe you should look him before you trash Garret.
This is like the best TCM song, and only one from this album I genuinely enjoy. have yet to hear their first album, really liked Know Hope....and then I saw them live and they were AWFUL, and their new album is boring. I've come to the conclusion this band is a one hit and one album wonder for me. They're good people, just not good musicians. and it's obvious the new guitarist extremely dumbed down in creativity for guitars.
We all have demons is an incredible album definitely not 1 hit wonders I personally don't like the new album, they need to go back to their original style
I realize people like this album as a whole, and that's great. I just really don't like posthardcore all too much. this was the only song that felt refreshing from the constant breakdown breakdown breakdown formula.
They definatley took a step backwards after this album. Seems like they just wanted to play stuff the teens would like. I think the old guitarist was the primary songwriter for the first 2 albums. The new one isnt as creative.
Not only is his voice absolutely amazing, their lyrics are so freaking good as well. One of my favorite singers.

My favorite TCM song of all time, and brings back so many memories from past years.
Deep shit.
Very Genious Lyrics, Don’t think it’s been Appreciated and Recognized Enough.
I think this song really set the band on the course they took after this album. (Lyrically of course).
severely underrated band! excellent live! and the lead singer was at my sisters wedding! many fond memories of watching these young lads performing live. This is my absolute favorite song by them
this song is incredible. Garrett is a monster with his vocals.
Hits in the feels everytime! 🥲😊
yess

fair point.
What a strange scenario haha "I will put you on an island now, you have two days to make a cd!" :D
the transition at 3:00 is fucking genius, what a voice.
the only part he sounds like jonny is "I didn't create the disease, I just diagnosed."
@22jermz That's what I'm saying! They have so much talent!!!
Saw them last night garret is nice as fuck to his fans and sings as good live as he does recorded
D:
@meowdads i think it is too, i get goosebumps everytime...

for nine months same thing come on lets get something new=] the color morale is awesome!!
Fuck, this is amazing. Why have I just NOW heard this??
Garret has a similar voice to jonny, but in all honesty I'd rather listen to Garret over Jonny. And fuck whoever said he's awful live. He's amazing, and inspirational. It comes from the heart when he's up there.
At 2:20, thats called a break (indie break) not a solo.
You take that back
@duplexon He was working on his mac when TCM was in the studio
that key change :o
Song becomes good at 0:00 . song becomes epic at around 2:30
This album is about 2 years old.
@dillon4L you can do it. just pretend your clearing your throat. then try to sing like that. its kind of hard to describe over text, but it works. i got it down :)

I got a tattoo that says "Our life's a road not a destination" from this song :)
2:10...OMG i think i've found the real side of me.
@duplexon It's not. But in iTunes genius they come up suggested for Dance Gavin Dance. :).
That one dislike.. That guy had one job, one job.. and it was to like the song
The intro gives a Killswitch engage feeling, just a wee bit
I’ll forever love this song

this is just fucking boss! love it.
How about a group like Isles & Glaciers with Garret Rapp, Tyler Carter and Kellin Quinn? :D
@meowdads totally agree. its sick
you've not seen him live then recently i take it

they should put in a bass solo
legit. makes me wanna destroy something in slow motion
this genre isn't about playing technical.
No one ever makes it out of life alive yeeeeaahhhhh lol
@duplexon No its not!!
LOL
@afireinside54982 totally stephen christian sounding. :)
@16sharkbait Yeah, you said that twice.

Not better than Charles Finn of Secret & Whisper, but good
hah... nope
