Such a golden age for German automobiles. Analog gauges, nice materials, no iPad stuck on the dash. I miss it.
“Is this broken in yet”, “it probably isn’t”.. proceeds to floor it. 🤣
That interior looks surprisingly modern for 2013. Very well done BMW
Had one. It was a maintenance Nightmare. However, the fit and finish was second to none
Best looking X5 ever
Just not true
Nah, i actually think this gen of x5 was one of the ugliest they ever made, every x5 after it looked much better
I enjoyed my 2011 X5 50i. Fully loaded with full leather, rear entertainment and more. It kicked butt on the Tail of the Dragon, hanging with M3s.
You're making it sound like it's a relic from 1984. 2013 isn't that long ago lol
Bring back interiors like this. Can't believe we've ended up with same same screens on everything now. Also criminal that a lot of autos today still can't match a ZF8 from over 10 years ago.
Had the E70 xdrive35d, diesel, everything about the car was amazing, build quality, comfort, cabin, powertrain, handling. I kick myself all the time for trading it, for the next gen x5 which was much more disconnected in handling, and not as quality feeling in the cabin. This video isn’t helping my thoughts now lol. And 467 miles is insane.
I had a 2010 E70 until 2014. All I’ll say is that I recently searched for it online via its VIN and the last trace of it was neglected and borderline wrecked at an auction somewhere in New York, in 2021. Seeing it just about dead brought me a sense of peace.
Besides the running board, its perfect! nice video!
I miss this BMW line man. Back in the time when it first came out, especially the face-lift was one of the best looking SUV ever! Such Finesse! So much presence.
I was hoping it was a 467-mile test drive... But then again, that would have been a risky trip in fear of getting a check engine light or some malfunction from 12-year old wiring. :) Nice survivor though, great styling, almost an icon!
Interior quality and design is amazing, BMW pinnacle in these fields.
Love the E70 X5
what a beauty
my parents had one these back in 2013, the sync for the dual automatic climate control is in the iDrive system
The back seats can slide back further for more room in the second row.
In the settings, you can change the turn signal to "triple turn signal"
The “sport” button next to the transmission shifter controls the active roll stabilization and adaptive damper stiffness. Does not change throttle or transmission mapping. 2013 x5 35d owner here with 147k miles. Only options compared to the museum piece here are adaptive cruise and the leather dashboard.
I love mine, I took it for a road trip all over the US all the way to Canada. It’s been reliable to me also. It’s also tuned with X5m wheels….Such a beast on the highway and mountains
6:04 sounds so good
great as always
Still looks great
such a dope spec w third row and center console tv
Traffic on 85 was the least surprising thing about this video
Oh, the good old days
🔥
Golden era of bmw's. Beatiful car inside and out. @tropherdrives Love the Tudor you're rocking today!
467 is crazy
This is my favorite generation X5. The interior is perfect, the exterior is just right, though when I see this driving around, a lot of them have the rear plastic bumper and it really just throws me off given how expensive this was back in the day (I can sort of forgive it because it was a time where SUVs were obviously meant for off-roading capability so you wouldn't scratch the bumper). This fortunately doesn't have it and it looks stunning. 3:04 that plastic hadn't been used for so long it creaked really badly 😅.
14:00 this intersection or whatever this tarnation is supposed to be could really use a roundabout.
Hey Chris, are you still using the GoPro Hero 12 in this video or have you switched to a different camera?
Using the DJI Osmo 5 now for most videos, the image quality is next level vs. the GoPro imo
I'd want a picnic content too.
Miss when brand new cars were like this
Is that a Black Bay pro you’ve got on?
I think so
What's the DOT code on the tyres?
nice
How did you get ahold of a 467 mile X5?
It's owned by BMW
I was looking for this.
👍🏼
I would take this one any day over a new model.
BMW sales would explode if they said yah we just making our old cars again. They have a elegance like nothing else today in a world of extreme over minimalism/digitalization.
Can you do a video of 2025 toyota camry le and xle driving impressions please?
This thing would be so cool with a manual
The way manufactures are stock piling their old well-made cars are hilarious to me.
The V8's are unreliable and leak almost everything. The Inline 6 is the complete opposite and very reliable and durable.
Car looks brand new, if mechanically sorted I see no real world difference between this one and the newest one in reality except "status" for the plebs.
i would prefer this one because of much nicer the interior is
that culinan tho
2012 bmw x5 35i owner here
