Rode these canals on Wednesday on a tour I was doing, the boat went the opposite way round that you travelled and I was surprised at how busy it is, it gave me a good chance to scout out some good spots to film when I take a boat with Hidden Bangkok Tours, can get a better view too!!
This is a great tour! I did it myself last year with a group of pals. We sprinkled our fiend's cremated ashes on the river in front of Wat Arun, and finished with dinner at Ploen Dee restaurant. It was a magic afternoon & evening.
I did the tour last week, starting from Baan Ploen Dee restaurant. Was a lovely and relaxed tour alongside other 5-6 fellow travellers. The guide (Pear) was very informative and helped explain the cultural aspects of Bangkok and Thailand. Highly recommend it!
I loved this video. Such a nice boat ride! I'll be sure to make this the next time I'm in Bangkok. FYI, the tallest sitting Buddha in Thailand is Phra Buddha Maha Nawamin at Wat Muang in Ang Thong province, 92 meters high, where the beautiful Buddha in Wat Pak Nam is "only" 70 meters tall.
Thank you for showing the tour, very interesting. (11:28) on the left, is Wat Chantaram Worawiharn ("Wat Klang") at Talat Phlu, วัดจันทารามวรวิหาร (วัดกลาง ตลาดพลู). At this corner, I think is the best place for taking picture of the Big Buddha at Sunset.
Awesome video, Jeroen. I took the longtail boat from Jack's Bar going to Wat Paknam and Khlong Bangkok Yai last year to shoot a video. It's also good to go there early morning. But I'll try this boat trip soon too. 😊 Btw, Wat Paknam is also accessible from MRT Bang Phai.
Looks very nice! Maybe it's an idea for the next Saturday when I meet with my friend from Surattani in Bangkok before we head up to the North. Best regards , Marlies
Thanks Jeroen! Always good seeing you, and your brother. What a really nice tour! I’m sure everyone had a great time. Visiting Baan Silapin (The Artist’s House) is one of my favorite attractions in Bangkok (along with Jim Thompson). How was your meal at Riva Arun? I’d love to have a few sundowners and a meal there the next time I’m in town. Been next door to Sala Rattanakosin in the past (I remember your video) when they still had that amazing outdoor terrace on the Chao Phraya. This video brings back really nice memories. Thank you for that.
Thank you Jerone for the new tour through the canals towards Wat Paknam, the largest Buddha in Bangkok looks impressive, but I thought I saw another similar Buddha very close to the mega Buddha?🤔
We are still disappointed that you guys doesn’t make a get-together in march 😢❤😢 but we found Hidden Bangkok Tours and are about to enjoy a meal before we go for a boat tour…
very nice, I was there just last Sunday leaving the floating market. I have two questions -How much does your tour cost? -Are the houses in the water sold? It's a shame to see them abandoned😢. Thank you Jeroen😊
I wonder how you didn’t mention the cost of the canal ride, while you even mentioned the cost of the tuk-tuk ride. How much did you spend on this canal tour?

One of the best Buddha Statue in the world. Love to see architecture style with Golden colour. Amazing and wonderful.👍👍♥️♥️
What are the different of a privat tour on the Chao Phraya River with Wat Arun etc. or take the public boots for much less?
