I’ve interacted with Jay a few times at the rock store. I can say when you have the chance to meet him around cars and motorcycles you speak to Jay the motor head not Jay the celebrity or Jay the guy with money. He is the real deal.
It's always enjoyable to talk with people about their real passions. That whole public persona everybody has just disappears and you get to talk to the real person. Always an enjoyable experience.
What a wonderful treat and very kind of Jay lovely to see him staying humble what a great guy! and a memory you and your dad will surely cherish! Cheers From Salt Lake City!
Jay is a godsend to all the vehicle lovers around the world. Takes his time to educate and entertain people of all ages, a Class Act and a true gentleman.✌
Jay seems like a really down to earth guy who just likes sharing what is basically a living museum of cars to whoever will listen, can't fault it. Great video, bet it made your Dads year cruising around.
I love your channel because I’ve learned so much about the law, but this is now my favorite episode. Bless your dad, thanks to you and your brother for taking him, and thanks to Jay Leno for doing something really special for your dad. I will admit I shed a tear or three watching your dad enjoy himself 💜
@@lancecluster I picked up on Steve's channel about a year ago...this guy is so in tuned with the real world daily life experience. Much success Steve.
What a cool experience! A great memory you will cherish. I don’t have a favorite Duesenberg. In fact I don’t have a Duesenberg. Back in the late 70’s I lived in Oklahoma City. Jokers comedy club was nearby and my two goofy buddies and I would go there to see Jay Leno perform when he was in town. We were always on or near the front row. Years later, Jay was on the Tonight Show sharing some of his fondest memories of his club touring days. He said that his favorite place to do his act was at Jokers club in OKC. I silently said, “You’re welcome”. 😉
What a great experience for you, your brother and your dad. I love what Jay does for the car people of the world. I would love to have the opportunity to tour his garage. Awesome collection.
This makes me really miss my Papaw who I lost last year. He was a car guy and salesman for many years. Videos like this help me to remember him and live vicariously through you. Your dad smiling is like seeing Papaw again. Thank you.
I saw Jay in the back lot of his studio in Burbank in 2002. He was wearing his denim blue shirt and jeans and said hello to us crazy kids hanging on the fence hoping to see a celebrity. Never met a more down to earth celebrity.
Oh my goodness, you made me cry! What a beautiful gift for your Dad and what a beautiful blessing for you that you still have your Dad to enjoy! Great video!!! Thanks for sharing!❤️
This is confirming the truly great man of integrity that you are-to make memories and share your father with the rest of us out here. Thank you and God bless!
He once gave me a ride home. When I lived in North Andover Mass. My T-Bird broke down and along came Jay in an old car and gave me a ride home. It was before he became rich and famous. He was always a great guy.
Steve, So Glad You Could Do This - Save The Memories, Stay Safe, God Bless and Safe Travels...(History Should Not Be Forgotten - But Remembered Fondly)
My dad got me into old cars, we bought a Model A in 1972, I still own it. I currently restore British roadsters, 66 XKE, 53 XK120, 58 MGA currently in the stable. Thanks for this video.
Steve, you've put out some of the best videos over the years. But this episode is, and probably will be my absolute favorite for a long time to come. It's amazing letting Jay meet your dad. You all kept it so classy and all about dad. This is so great!
Jay would have been a car guy even if he never hit it big. Working at Mercedes as a kid... owning & driving his '50's Buick in the '70's... this kept him "real". Having hit it big, just gave him a chance to indulge his passion for things automotive and the people & stories behind the engineering. But being down to earth and a true gentleman has given him... and us, the chance to be blessed by his generosity and spirit of love for all, and to share his love of cars and engineering. God grant him many long years, and much joy! So wonderful your dad got such a special moment. Give Jay a big thank you from the rest of us too!
What a wonderful treat for your dad... Jay is so gracious, to give all of y'all a ride...What fun, and a look back into history. 👍👍❤️😊 george 😎🤿🦈🐙🇺🇲 TEXAS
Love this video. I miss my parents! So great you had this opportunity, and so nice to see how special it is for you. There is nothing better than being able to be loving towards your parents.
Thanx for sharing. You will have something to cherish for generations to come. Jay is one of a kind. He's all about sharing his knowledge and love for anything with wheels.
Steve and Richard Lehto were (probably) quite a Handful; back in the Day. Now the man is (probably) glad he didn't copy Bill Cosby, Senior; and tell the little miscreant, "I brought you into this World! I can Take you Out!"
Extremely cool video, Steve! Your dad must have loved every minute of that tour/ ride. One thing that is so cool about Jay is that he takes his multimillion dollar cars out on the Freeway! I love Duesenbergs, and that one was beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Steve!
That's awesome, I am glad that "Dad" had a great time! Thanks to Jay, Rick, and Dad, and yourself, for allowing us to join in!!! Blessings! A lot of your vids, I can continue to work during them and just listen to you... This one, I stopped work, just to watch! Thank you sooooo much for posting this!
That's a very beautiful experience and cherished memory! Jay is a class act and a real "Joe Six-Pack" despite his success. You just couldn't ask for a better custodian for these old cars.
To be able to do such a magnificent thing for your Dad. I am experiencing a little bit of excess water at the corners of my eyes.... must be dusty here.... Thanks for sharing Steve. And Jay,,, man, you are just too beautiful of a soul.
Thank you for taking us on this incredible ride, Steve. Even on video it felt like the chilly California wind in my hair. I hope Dad had the time of his life!
Time well spent with your dad, it was probably a highlight of his life. Jay is a treasure, one of a kind. I love that he actually keeps his cars in driving condition. Apparently he also allows (encourages?) his employees to work on their own cars at the shop, on their own time. Thanks for taking us along.
I've often dreamed of doing this exact thing with my father and brother. Dad is a big Duesenberg fan and my brother a mechanic by trade. Sadly, Dad isn't in as good of condition as yours, so I have to live vicariously through your video. Thanks for making other people's dreams come true too.
Very cool! I would love to visit Jay and his car collection some day! Super nice for car guys to get together, watch your videos as often as possible… 👍👍
Jay Leno is so kind, gracious and such a humble guy. Others with a fraction of his fame and fortune act like they're Gods roaming the earth amongst us mere mortals...
Steve, what a gift and blessing for your father ! In that era, my favorite cars were the Dussies. Fell in love with them the first time I saw one at the Harrah's Auto Collection Museum in Reno, NV a few decades back. They had 3 huge warehouse buildings of cars...unfortunately, all of that was sold off years ago. You have to have an eye for craftsmanship and engineering to fully appreciate what the Duesenberg brand was all about. Just amazing cars and they were fast for the era. We are about 30 minutes from Jay's Big Dog Garage and have never been there....yet.
Thank you Steve for this great treat! Like I think you said it's not all about the law, life gives us these little treats to cherish. Bless all of you in your days ahead. I already knew Jay Leno as a warm human being, and this only enforces that belief. I'm sure he may have days like we all have, but he almost seems to never have those. Again, thank you.
Very Good video Jay!!! What a Great Very Nice For you to have this family out for a ride in the Dusenburge and a shop tour!!! You are such a Good Man with a very big Heart!!! This family wont ever forget this!!! Great Jay!!!!

This is awesome. I sometimes think who would I like to meet and Jay is at the tippy top of the list. Love what he does for the service members. I have seen the videos. Hope your day had a great time.

I am so jealous, being with Jay Leno, old cars and a father. This would be the holy grail of happiness. Of all of these, I would give my life to spend a momentous day with my father. You are so lucky you can still be with him, talk to him and share a dream of any automotive enthusiast. My father would have loved this as much as I would. My father would have had many stories about these automobiles. I miss you dad.

I met him when he bought a Harley off a coworker. He’s a gear head at heart. Not a celebrity but just a real guy that loves anything with an engine.
I love the way it’s relatively common to hear stories about Jay pulling over to help broken down stranded drivers on the road.
