Then nice thing about sitting at the Hollywood brown derby lounge is that the entire food menu from the brown derby restaurant is available. Love eating at Brown Derby every time I am at WDW!
We love the Brown Derby Lounge! We get the cobb salad and pork belly sliders, and we also get the martini flight and the margarita flight for the table!
If you like grapefruit, that lounge is a perfect place to get the Shofferhoffer but add a shot of gin or vodka to it. The liquor cuts the sweetness and it’s incredibly good.
Good review Craig. Although I wondered through all of it where your hat was! lol. We have never tried Brown Derby so it was good to get a review of the lounge area.
I love the HBD lounge, it's a go to for me. I'm a smallish woman so the Cobb Salad, even the app. portion is more than enough for me. I'm not a fan of pork belly so that would be a big ole no for me (I'm from Georgia, you season your beans with pork belly). I did like their old lounge menu better, there were hamburger sliders and a big ole hamburger with a fried egg on top that was so good.
Pork Belly looked delicious!! Great review, as always. Still have yet to dine inside the Brown Derby, but every time I pass by I wished we could go ahead and experience it.
Great job as always Craig, thanx! Funny you said the people watching here is good. LONG before the Lounge was even "built", I used to love to sit in that area and people watch. Used to love to do that at nearby Starring Rolls too - especially in the morning - sit there with a great cup of coffee, and a breakfast sandwich, and watch people scrambling in/around as I'm relaxing. :) You're far enough away to be out of the maddening crowds, but close enough to enjoy the show. :) Never had a bad meal here, for sure, and it's always been pricey (even "back in the day), but these prices - oooh boy!!! Anyway - I had the Cobb salad, only once that I remember (ma have tried some of others other than that, but don't remember), and it had good flavors, but I am NOT a chopped salad person at all. The small pieces of stuff annoys me, and more often than not, I end up eating the salad with a tablespoon. I never order a chopped salad, or the "fixin's bagged salad" for one, but occasionally I've made a mistake. Glad you enjoyed your so much.
Love that Ewoks shirt! My favorite thing at the Brown Derby was always the Grapefruit cake. Even got the recipe for it many years ago. Not into martinis so I'd skip that.
I had wanted to try the Brown Derby for 20 years. We finally tried it in March. and we were very disappointed. I was not at all impressed with the Cobb Salad. It was a tiny portion. My friend ordered a burger well done and it came rare. Requested a well done burger again and got another raw burger. Then we tried the famous grapefruit cake, and it was terrible. We couldn't eat it. We left and got a reservation at 'Ohana. I had heard so many positive things about Brown Derby but it was a fail for us.
My wife likewise was very disappointed with her Cobb Salad when we last visited the Brown Derby in November. The salad was gluten free and often from GF experience is usually prepared fresh to meet GF standards. While she didn’t have a gluten related reaction, the salad was wilted, wet, and anything but fresh. However, I did have the burger prepared gluten free, and it was excellent; outrageous flavors. Probably will skip Brown Derby next time since there are too many other places to choose to eat.
Thanks for the review!! The grapefruit martini sounds right up my alley, if I ever eat there it’ll be on my list. But yeah, it should’ve come with the graham cracker rim - you shouldn’t even have to ask. ☹️ So disappointed to hear Brown Derby has gone downhill from other people though. My husband and I loved it when we had it maybe 4 years ago. It sounds like it’s another quality issue that’s come from the pandemic, perhaps from supply chain issues and lack of staff.
Awesome vid, Craig! I had to send this to my sister and brother-in-law because you're sitting in roughly the exact same spot where we sat and did some people watching of our own (along with some margarita flights, of course). I must finally get around to trying that salad and grapefruit martini next time.
I’m amazed that someone LIKES the grapefruit martini!! Maybe I had an off day, but it was sooo bitter/sour and NOT well balanced when I tried. First and only time I have EVER sent a drink back 🤷🏻♀️
We use to love the BD and went every trip. But our recent vacation in March left us to pause going back. Overall the food was like it was prepared ahead of time linefood and not freshly prepared to order. And the grapefruit cake was very dry and crumbly. Thumbs down. We will maybe try it again but is no longer on our “must do” list.
Maybe the avocado was very bad in my friend and my cobb salad? It was overly oily and extremely MUSHY back in January 2022. Kind of felt like throw up? We should have send it back...and they should have never served it
We are going to the lounge, just to try Cobb salad....and maybe the margarita flight.👍 why did they take the burger off the restaurant menu?? Just crazy.
@@peggymoczulski2275 can’t wait to try it. Really wanted to try the actual restaurant, but taking the burger off the menu was a big turn off for the picky eaters in my family.
Love the Shirt Frank

Great review 👍🏻
Thank you!

craig, love that shirt!
Thank you for the review. Your shirt is great!
Finally! I've been asking you to go here and have the Cobb salad for like a year now, lol
Good job Craig !
That is a great shirt!
Nice shirt Craig
Awesome please do the rest of the restaurants in studios love it
love the RSVLTS branded Ewok shirt Craig!
Miss the burger but I’ll always love the Cobb!
Great review, thanks Craig
Come to the Hollywood Brown Derby and party like it's 1939! 🎉 I know I want to...
Love the DIS keep up the good work !

You call that Cobb salad an appetizer...I could have it as meal. Looks great 😁
#1 is Filet mignon at brown derby!!! Loved it
The sliders looked tasty to us. The salad sounds amazing! -S
Always a good meal at the Brown Derby, I’ve got to try that next drink next time. Now if they would just keep the oyster bree soup on the menu!
Oyster Brie is my all time favorite! Love it!
I had the Cobb Salad winter/Christmas 2021. It was just ehh, for me. The burger my husband had was out of this world!

Would love to see a review on La Hacienda de San Angel. Doesn’t seem to be much info out there on it.

Craig! Your Ewok shirt!!
Was that salad the full portion? It didn’t look hearty. Could that be a meal?
Yeah a martini should probably be in a glass with something on the rim anyway.

Tell them you want the cob salad, not the cob soup.
@@marilynkozlow8400 is there a lot of dressing? Can you just get the dressing on the side?

Wow, $15 dollars for that drink, I'll have the water thank you.
