"UK proggers Big Big Train have announced that Italian guitarist Maria Barbieri will step in to cover for current guitarist Dave Foster, who has prior commitments in September with the Steve Rothery Band, for the band's headlining appearance at the 2 Days + 1 Festival in northern Italy on September 2. Big Big Train are also looking to to announce a series of live shows to take place across the UK and continental Europe in August and September 2023, at which Barbieri will also feature."
And I wished she was able to return now that Foster has bowed out of BBT completely. She brought her own style to the guitar parts, where as I always found Foster a bit anonymous style wise.
@@lawrenceheadrick sorry, but the thing she IS NOT invited to return to BBT. She only did that one tour where this show was recorded. She was only meant to temporarily replace David Foster who had commitments with the Steve Rothery Band that clashed with that BBT tour. If was mentioned he would be available for future gigs but that was then again changed and after the release of the album it was announced that BBT would move forward with Foster and that there would be no replacement. I guess Alberto and Rikard can handle all the guitar parts and I do know that Claire has also started to play acoustic guitar during shows when there is no fiddle part.
Wow... My mind is confused between the happiness of having Maria Barbieri and the sadness of not having Dave Foster. @Big Big Train, why wasn't the dear and talented Dave on stage, wasn't he at the recording of this beautiful show in London?

This is great news for them to add a solid gem like her!! I hope that they'll return to the U.S. for another small warm up tour with her before CTTE!?
