In the comics for no reason the writers have Nightwing get raped twice and the first time he gets victim-blamed by multiple characters including Starfire who was his lover at the time, and the second time by some a new superhero which never gets brought up again.

honestly many of the Legacy Characters started getting disrespected and replaced once Damian, Jon and Yara Flor showed up, and now they're replacing Yara. DC just hates the rest of the family, they want the roster that The Animated Series had, Batman and Robin with Batgirl and a little Nightwing, but they also don't want him because he's too popular and might overshadowed Robin and Batgirl.

I sorely can't wait for the Bob Kane version of Batman to go Public Domain. This means Robin from that Universe is free game and can finally get the respect he deserves.
You see, the Teen Titans were DC’s highest selling comic at one time, rivaling the peak of the X-Men and in large part due to characterizing Dick Grayson, someone who comic readers never thought before could stand alone from Batman. Not adapting arguably the second greatest character (yes over Joker, he’s a great villain but Robins depth and potential is insane) in the Batman universe is criminal and DC shouldn’t have control over its characters
It’s so baffling to see amazing characters like Nightwing, Wally West and Spider-Man getting hated by the writers. It’s one of those moments that i prefer read fan fiction about these characters because i know they will be treated better. Justice for Nightwing, Wally West and Spider-Man ✊
Teen Titans Go was just a complete mockery to the origin. Nightwing smashing Harley was crazy, like I was shocked when I first watched the movie. And the way they did him so dirty in the Harley Quinn tv show pissed me off, like they really did him like that after his death, like that's just crazy.
Nightwing definitely doesn't always get the best treatment, but they do do him right sometimes. Like I believe their is one comic where he actually beats batman in a fight, and even batman and alfred consider Dick to be like the true successor where Batman believe's he can be better them him as a hero and person, while Alfred believed in him so much that he left the Pennsworth fortune to Dick after he died (which I believe made Dick richer than Batman) because Alfred believed he could do so much good with it, and one of the first things he did with that fortune was feed the homeless and stuff.
I don't know if Court of Owls/ War of Robins is even still cannon, but there was a part in that story where Drake and Todd are dick measuring and when one of them gets upstaged he blast back with "You know Dick could have done it in less time" Bro's not even in the story. He was working for the government at point.
At first, I got the feeling Bruce Timm disliked Dick Grayson. I can only think of two reasons why: 1) In the original episodes of BTAS he used him sparingly and only when he was needed, and it was well written, but in the final season Robin had to be included in every episode, so he started breaking his arm or whatever other damsel in distress thing to get him out of the story, 2) as good as he is for the batverse he ships batman and batgirl kind of obsessively (I was really grossed out by the batwoman phone call), despite there being really good chemistry between Robin and Batgirl in her first appearance. Dick couldn't be with or even kiss Barbara, notice how twice (Old wounds, subzero) thier kiss was interrupted. In TNBA they again used him more sparingly which did give us better stories, though his relationship with batman was all over the place. However it seems Bruce timm likes the damsel in distress role for Dick Grayson as in a lot of his movies, he is again kind of sidelined by unfortunate injuries or stupidity (I understand he loses against batman, although perhaps it should be a tougher fight, but so many other times it is just disrespectful) It's even worse now that I realise that it just happens everywhere, please find someone to write a truly great story about him
Jason? Jason only has three animated appearances, those being The Under the Red Hood movie, that one LEGO movie and he was teased in Young Justice. He also only shows up in two games Arkham Knight and Gotham Knights and one made him all whiny and the other had him looking like Jason Voorhees.

Jason is just as mistreated as all the other characters DC hates. His character development has been running in circles for years: he constantly goes back and forth between killing and not killing, fighting against Batman and fighting with him. Most of his media appearances get him wrong. In Titans and that Lego movie he's a whiny baby, in Batman ninja he's an edgelord, in Young Justice he doesn't even speak...the only movie that truly got him right is Under the Red Hood.

In the comic (or somewhere else I can't quite pin it lol, long time) his death is similar but is done far better, it's established Damian throws a baton at Dick when he's annoyed or frustrated with him when they're training but he does so knowing Dick will always catch it. In this instance however Dick wasn't fully alert because of the chaos and was basically caught lacking, the baton connected and Dick breaks his neck in the fall on a sharp rock. Damian was distraught as he didn't intend for that of course and expected Dick to catch it as usual, Batman didn't know about that detail or care and that's why Damian doubles down and says screw him basically and joins up with Clark. Actually, Starfire kept cheating on him while they were dating because her culture doesn’t see sex with people other than their partner as taboo. That and her libido was put into overdrive during one story to the point that she had to be isolated bc she was nearly raping anything male in her vicinity. They broke up bc of these factors.

The guy hates legacy characters and has screwed over some of them, but he LOVES all the edgier characters, there's even record that his favorite Robins were Jason Todd and Damien Wayne. That was raw when they first revealed Damian killed Dick Grayson. Then, the Comics and movie ruined it when they revealed the way he died. It could’ve been any other way. In the comics for no reason the writers have Nightwing get raped twice and the first time he gets victim-blamed by multiple characters including Starfire who was his lover at the time, and the second time by some a new superhero which never gets brought up again.

honestly many of the Legacy Characters started getting disrespected and replaced once Damian, Jon and Yara Flor showed up, and now they're replacing Yara. Tim Drake and his generation get hit with the disrespect stick the hardest.
DC just hates the rest of the family, they want the roster that The Animated Series had, Batman and Robin with Batgirl and a little Nightwing, but they also don't want him because he's too popular and might overshadowed Robin and Batgirl.

You see, the Teen Titans were DC’s highest selling comic at one time, rivaling the peak of the X-Men and in large part due to characterizing Dick Grayson, someone who comic readers never thought before could stand alone from Batman. Not adapting arguably the second greatest character (yes over Joker, he’s a great villain but Robins depth and potential is insane) in the Batman universe is criminal and DC shouldn’t have control over its characters

Teen Titans Go was just a complete mockery to the origin. Nightwing smashing Harley was crazy, like I was shocked when I first watched the movie. And the way they did him so dirty in the Harley Quinn tv show pissed me off, like they really did him like that after his death, like that's just crazy.
Nightwing definitely doesn't always get the best treatment, but they do do him right sometimes. Like I believe their is one comic where he actually beats batman in a fight, and even batman and alfred consider Dick to be like the true successor where Batman believe's he can be better them him as a hero and person, while Alfred believed in him so much that he left the Pennsworth fortune to Dick after he died (which I believe made Dick richer than Batman) because Alfred believed he could do so much good with it, and one of the first things he did with that fortune was feed the homeless and stuff.
I don't know if Court of Owls/ War of Robins is even still cannon, but there was a part in that story where Drake and Todd are dick measuring and when one of them gets upstaged he blast back with "You know Dick could have done it in less time"

At first, I got the feeling Bruce Timm disliked Dick Grayson. I can only think of two reasons why:
1) In the original episodes of BTAS he used him sparingly and only when he was needed, and it was well written, but in the final season Robin had to be included in every episode, so he started breaking his arm or whatever other damsel in distress thing to get him out of the story,
2) as good as he is for the batverse he ships batman and batgirl kind of obsessively (I was really grossed out by the batwoman phone call), despite there being really good chemistry between Robin and Batgirl in her first appearance. Dick couldn't be with or even kiss Barbara, notice how twice (Old wounds, subzero) thier kiss was interrupted.
In TNBA they again used him more sparingly which did give us better stories, though his relationship with batman was all over the place.
However it seems Bruce timm likes the damsel in distress role for Dick Grayson as in a lot of his movies, he is again kind of sidelined by unfortunate injuries or stupidity (I understand he loses against batman, although perhaps it should be a tougher fight, but so many other times it is just disrespectful)
It's even worse now that I realise that it just happens everywhere, please find someone to write a truly great story about him

Jason? Jason only has three animated appearances, those being The Under the Red Hood movie, that one LEGO movie and he was teased in Young Justice.
He also only shows up in two games Arkham Knight and Gotham Knights and one made him all whiny and the other had him looking like Jason Voorhees.

His character development has been running in circles for years: he constantly goes back and forth between killing and not killing, fighting against Batman and fighting with him.
Most of his media appearances get him wrong. In Titans and that Lego movie he's a whiny baby, in Batman ninja he's an edgelord, in Young Justice he doesn't even speak...the only movie that truly got him right is Under the Red Hood.

In the comic (or somewhere else I can't quite pin it lol, long time) his death is similar but is done far better, it's established Damian throws a baton at Dick when he's annoyed or frustrated with him when they're training but he does so knowing Dick will always catch it. In this instance however Dick wasn't fully alert because of the chaos and was basically caught lacking, the baton connected and Dick breaks his neck in the fall on a sharp rock. Damian was distraught as he didn't intend for that of course and expected Dick to catch it as usual, Batman didn't know about that detail or care and that's why Damian doubles down and says screw him basically and joins up with Clark.
