Zac sings: “Deep down I know that you’re troubled. Living underneath the weight, your chains, your strain. No straighter path then to struggle
‘Cause when we rest, we fear and it draws them near.”
Interviewer: “Siren Call moves the story where?”
Taylor: "For one, Siren Call is a new song to most fans. And it is all about, sort of handling the inner turmoil as well as that recognition, the struggle, the pull, the push with ‘things are falling apart’ - your own inner demons.”
Zac: ‘The original version of it had Mellotron, which is sort of a sound, but when you take that and go okay this is what real strings sound like, what real horns sound like… It is a very serious song about life and how we lose ourselves in our own loss. Right? The whole show, the songs we chose was really about the lyrics and messages and this is a case where I feel like you just hear the lyrics so much more, when it has this backdrop. It’s sitting on top of the strings.”

Interviewer: “Are drums the hardest thing to integrate into this, because there are so many of them as part of the orchestra to begin with?
Zac: “Yeah, I don’t want to give myself any undue credit, but drums, especially on stage it is very difficult to be quiet enough to let every other person play. There is naturally so much volume, so much residence. You are probably the biggest instrument when you really put it all together with all your cymbals, etc. So it’s a challenge. You’ve got to get the right tone and rhythm, but you can’t drown everybody out.”
Isaac: “The other thing, too, about Siren Call, very specifically in execution live, Zac is playing drums and Taylor and I are playing drums. All the other music is the orchestra. That song is literally transformed by the orchestra because we are not playing anything else except for percussion.”
Zac: “Drums, bass, vocals, and symphony and it’s a really cool moment.”

Dudddee!! Does that mean when they tour for this album there's gonna be the orchestra performing with them!? THAT WOULD BE EPIICCCC! MAKE IT HAPPEN!! It should start with just the drum beat and they can do their thing they do with making the audience clap along hahaha and everyone's like "the heck is this song going to go into?" then when the moment's right they can start with the oo-ohoho-ooh and can get the audience involved so it's just drums, claps and a room full of people doing the ooohohohohs, and it'll be dark and eery. Then the strings start coming in quietly and they start pouring in from either side of the stage and then it builds and when everyone's on stage its like RAAAHH! - The most amazing overwhelming musical awesomeness in the face! Especially if there's someone awesome on lighting too.. That would be the kind of moment you go to live shows for! I would literally go to the show JUST to see that happen haha!
