Starting with what you have is sooo important!! Great advice! That's exactly what we are doing! And a mortgage free life was definitely one of the reasons why I moved back to Ghana!!!🥰
As you know Im a sub to Both your channels and I love what you are doing in bringing us great positivee images from Africa which breaks down the often negative stereotypes of the continent. With regards to the house, It's an amazing addition to the original boys quarters house. I'm loving it. I can't get enough of the journey they are on as I'm eager to see the completion. Keep doing what you're doing Venessa. Your an astute youtuber and may God bring you and your family an abundance of blessings. 🇬🇧🇯🇲🙏🏾
I totally agree in the $50k amount.... we still have to add our wall and with that we will be close to that amount. We built a standard western style home 3 beds and 2 baths in Tamale.
Had no idea Vanessa was that tall lol, saw allot of her vids in the past, but your project GHANA GIRL Was my main inspiration for finally deciding fly over to Ghana and buy a property 🙌 thanks much
I love your channel and all the contents you create, and this house idea of rather putting on still pillers rather than breaking the older house down. This an amazing idea. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great to see you both together. Love the positive energy you both transmit. Hope the project is completed smoothly - look forward to seeing it completed. 💚💚
Vanessa thanks for asking the right questions. I wish she would have been more direct in her answers. Keep doing your awesome work! It is definitely helping me with my vision when I move there.
Sampson Paintsil solar system would be in addition to the $50k. Unless you build a tiny house for $35-37k and spend 12-13k on your solar. This also excludes the land purchase.
It’s always an inspiration to see your building and the hard graft you guys are putting in. I’m at the same stage as you guys, also sharing very similar experiences. They are currently doing the plastering for both the inside and outside of a two storey seven bedroom split building. Can you please tell me the full name of the chemical that you added to your mortar to stop any damp issues. I look forward to seeing your videos. Good luck and thanks.
Thanks so much for all the info. I live in Virginia, U.S...originally from Ahafo Region in Ghana. Id like to get in contact with your architect. I have a 6-bedroom house in Kumasi, Ghana, and I want to build a partial 2nd level. I'm sure we could use his expertise.Your video has shed a great light. I initially kind of "built a skepticism around me", but your advice has encouraged me to make the next leap forward...even if at a slow pace.
@ natural Ghana girl Thoroughly enjoyed this video with Venassa . You will soon become a consultant for those building first time in Ghana, you have gained invaluable knowledge of material and quality control . Please refrain from calling the extra house on the compound ‘“boys quarters “ guests house is more appropriate. Boys house is embedded in British colonialism and slavery!!❤️❤️
From the states and in Ghana right now. Beautiful people beautiful country. What is going on tonight in Ghana??Where should I go next? Where are the best activities?
I'm a Architect and my question to you is, "All buildings settle over time so with your design will the top start to crush the bottom if the top and bottom settle at different rates?"
Hey Vanessa I love your videos and I will like to talk to you about something I am working, I think you will love it, am in the US currently, so let me know if you have some time to talk.
This house is gorgeous but looks like a money hole..because finishing is usually more costly than the building you could get stuck limbo for years..sigh renno reality
“Boys house” is such a colonial term. It’s the “slave quarters” 🤦🏽♀️ or the servants room 💡 Beautiful home 🏠 but we need to drop our “slave” language. Britain 🇬🇧 Ghana 🇬🇭 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ America 🇺🇸 Colonialism 500 years strong 💪🏾 🤦🏽♀️🥵
@@dazedconfuseds in South Africa we call it the main bedroom and we usually have a cottage where our helper lives there if they have kids their kids also live there the cottage usually has 2 bedroom bath, small kitchen and living room
@@dazedconfuseds we call it staff quarters .the house helper stays there and goes home every weekend .we don't have guys staying in the yard mostly because we use security systems to protect the yard and remote control gates to open the gates ..
It is so difficult watching videos like this because instead of us showing us what you are talking about, the camera person is busy trying to keep the commentators in the shot. Personally, this makes the video hard to follow. I see many African descent people trying to follow the European UA-cam video format and it doesn't work, the video is not about you. I still have no clue how the house looks
Thanks so much for having me on Vanessa. ❤️. I really enjoyed our morning.
Going over to sub to your channel .
praying for you & your family .best wishes on this build.
@@tjones4423 She doesn't need any prayers just to build a house, my guy. lol
Much respect for sharing this "adventure". More grease to your elbows..massive project.

That’s one of my dreams, to be able to build my own house one day in Ghana my motherland! That house is gonna look great when is complete! ✊🏾🙏🏾
Start now bro. No time to waste.
@@frankbekoe3109 thanks for the advice big man. I’m gonna be working hard on in! 🙏🏾

Lovely to see a former English lass and Scot connecting over their Ghanaian roots and ❤️ of property 👍🏾🇬🇭🏴🏴👍🏾
I honestly love how different the style of Dela’s home is. It’s not the traditional Ghanaian home style. It’s beautiful 😻
@ambright the thinker I am a Ghanaian who sees Homes in Ghana everyday.
