The flight was empty with passengers but the cargo hold could be sold out. Iceland is famous for its salmon and also has to import most of the goods they need…
We hippies and college students had Iceland Air as our first choice flying from the USA to Europe in the 1960's and 1970's due to the cheapest fares. I believe we had to fly to Luxemborg then to get to Paris, etc. Since then, I have flown Iceland Air several times to Norway, Germany, Paris, etc. ( I always take advantage of the 3 days Iceland stayover on my trips to Europe from Ohio). Iceland Air is a great airline company that provides very good service for the cost.
We recently flew Icelandair Manchester to Boston with a stop in Reykjavík. First leg 737 Max, followed by 767 to Boston. Really comfortable and the crew were great. Highly recommended if you dont mind the short transfer time. You don't even have to go through passport control in Reykjavik, so a really easy transfer 👌
I really enjoyed watching this review. I've never been to Iceland or flown Icelandair but it's on my list now. I'm in Chicago and Icelandair fly's nonstop from here so all the more incentive to try it out. Nice choice of music for this video!
Thank you. Enjoy every second of this trip. The airport looked spotlessly clean and organized for mid-sized airport. Lounge food looked amazing and your meal was probably a top ten for business class product. Even the F.A. seemed sincerely interested in serving passengers. For a 24 y/o plane the IFE moved with ease. (Probably a recent upgrade?) Appreciate the tour of Iceland. It reminded me a bit of driving on the New Brunswick northern coast. It looked to me like a 5/5 trip. Thanks for the full tour and close ups of the food. I was wondering if you would be in Nome, Al this week with the races so this was an unexpected pleasure. Stay safe and thanks for all the time you put into creating this for us.
I appreciate it Greg! Yeah the experience was really nice from start to finish. You’d really enjoy a trip to Iceland it’s a beautiful country with some of the most friendly people I’ve ever met. Ah man I was hoping to make it out to Nome this year to catch the race but I couldn’t get time off. Enjoy the dogs man!
Very nice. To sum it all up, am definitely going to have to try Iceland Air. Never heard of berry salt? Wow. How about that and yes, the foods looked absolutely delicious. Very very nice. Please keep coming out with more vlogs!!
Mr. Soloviev. It is noticeable that your vlogs have matured. The longer intros are welcome and could still be further enhanced. I also notice that you more readily respond to comments whereas previously we hardly ever got a peep out of you ! Travelling vicariously with you ( and at your expense ) is ever more pleasurable. Thank you.
Hey Tony I do appreciate the compliments! Thank you 🙏 I try to film these videos as transparently as possible so it feels like the viewer is in my shoes experiencing the flight how I do. Always room to improve but the compliments mean a lot to me 😁
Hello QFS. Another very interesting trip report. The braised beef ribs look exceptionally scrumptious. Watching you eat them made me hungry. Surprised that with the extra meal you had that you were able to walk off the aircraft without discomfort. Almost flew Icelandair last year from Toronto to Scotland but the reviews I read (do not know if they were Economy or Saga Class reviews) were not very complementary so my spouse and I went with Air Transat direct to Glasgow instead. If I ever have to make another flight to that area, I will definitely consider Saga Class with Icelandair. Keep up the good work!
I love your vlogs. Icelandair seems to have nice service into Boston. It looked like that you landed on 22L. Thanks for sharing your experience. God bless
Currently scoping out flights BOS to UK/Gatwick and IcelandAir is offering up flights w/connections in Reykjavik, the baggage fee is crazy! the flight does look nice though as does the food. At 18:43 that's the Deer Island Wastewater treatment plant in Winthrop, Mass. They offer a tour that's 2 hrs long, pretty cool. Not sure how the PLAY A321neo was but JetBlue's BOS to LGW runs flew those and they didn't have ovens, nothing beats a cold crappy wrap for the $$ you spent for a transatlantic flight.
cabin similar to Martinair Star Class at the time on long haul, angled seats. little privacy as well. No champagne as a pre-flight drink? and how do you get on board if you have a disability to climb stairs?
Is the only airline at the airport is Icelandair? Do they have a domestic terminal or it is all together with the international flights which are mainly from the US, Canada and some European countries? It is a beautiful place from what I hear and friendly people not just the airline and its flight crew. Great food, great friendly cabin crew and the Saga Lounge at Reykjavik. Superb. Thanks again.
More like Premium Economy seat wise but I suppose given Iceland's mid Atlantic location there wouldn't be that much time to sleep in a full business international style seat.Keflavik is called Reykjavik Airport but it's miles away and confusingly there is actually a Reykjavik Airport in south Reykjavik and we actually walked there from the city centre, about 50 minutes, although it is mainly internal although it does have some international flights to Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
A great video...thanks! It is too bad that all your food is served on a single tray in Saga Class rather than separately like on other Business Class flights! Take care.
Thanks a lot! You raise a fair point, but that’s kinda a personal preference because I personally don’t mind getting it all at once and eating the meal together. You’re right though it feels like a more professional service when carriers space out the appetizers, entrees, and dessert
Wait wait wait...single prong headphones?! Also nice sized amenity kit, I can see myself using that on future trips; the one I got at EVA Air was too small. - Red
hey michael it's me ian how are you Great video, but just not sure that 'small island nation' is the right description for Iceland. Speaks heaps about the bias over other countries' size, and the lack of geographical knowledge of a lot of people.. I'm sure you would not define Ireland a 'small island nation', would you? (Yet, Ireland is less than a third of Iceland's size, and most certainly an island too ) Thank you! But yes it is a small island “nation”. The population is 375,000. Wichita, Kansas has a greater population than the entire country. The nation is small, the island is large and beautiful. But then again that’s subjective Fly to Kansas City sometime please to check out the new airport terminal!!!
A meal in the lounge at the airport, followed by 2 full meals onboard the aircraft during a 5 hour flight? A spectacular level of food consumption in a world much too full of starvation and malnutrition. American by any chance ?
Yes Icelandair has got this name borrowed from the famous musical group or the Icelandic Saga which is about the most famous littérature in the world not sure

Great video! You hit the nail on the head about their livery being “cheesed up”. I don’t know what it is with airline liveries these days but they’re just awful. Stop fixing what isn’t broken! *cough* Lufthansa *cough*
Thank you! Yeah it’s so disappointing that all the progress the industry made with beautiful liveries is being erased. Lufthansa, Aer Lingus, Iberia, American Airlines, 1990’s United, they all had incredible liveries that got replaced by bland white paint with colored tails

Saga class is more like a overpriced premium economy across the atlantic. Usually not competitive when starting from Oslo. You can get lie-flat seats for the same price on other carriers.
Another great trip report. Filming and editing are top notch. Beautiful scenery. May I suggest anyone watching this video hit the like button and subscribe to this channel. Well done Quebec Foxtrot Sierra and thanks for sharing!!!
First. thnx for the video. The meal looks so primitive and its a disgrace.A coice of only 2 mains? No champagne? No wine? All presented on one tray? Not a choice for me. Plus Icelandair is very expensive purchasing their so called bizclass. But again thnx
All the product are imported to Iceland as nothing grow in the country ! I find Iceland service very average and food to ! Iceland don’t have food culture as Europe have 😮 Iceland is beautiful but same time boring ! Boston is my favourite city in America ❤
Iceland is just as cool as the great music you use. Another well produced gem. Thank you for posting this highly enjoyable travelogue
Iceland is a beautiful place! Thank you so much!
The flight was empty with passengers but the cargo hold could be sold out. Iceland is famous for its salmon and also has to import most of the goods they need…
Its Many Years Since I Flown Icelandair And B767.Great Work
Another trip report, personally it's the first one I've seen involving 767. Great video as always.
Hey I'm glad you liked it!
It was great to see your vlog. I hope this means more are on the way. You have been missed.
I just recently flew on Icelandair. The Max-8. Saga class. The crew, food, and both flights were outstanding.
Icelandair is underrated. They offer you quality in a good price, and good experience. From my humble opinion.
I agree! I’d easily take them from America to Europe if the price is right
We hippies and college students had Iceland Air as our first choice flying from the USA to Europe in the 1960's and 1970's due to the cheapest fares. Very nice video. Excellent. Cheers, Peter.
WOW! Now that is classy service! I could live in that lounge HAHA, thanks for the video!
Aren't they great! And that lounge was fantastic! Thanks Laurie :)
Εxcellent flight review.767 is an iconic classic plane.
Thanks!
Как всегда, отличный обзор!
Спасибо, приятель!
I agree with you, their classic livery is much better than the new one.
So do I. The new one is OK in the blue but the other two colours just look naff. None of them have the natural class of the traditional design.
Very nice. To sum it all up, am definitely going to have to try Iceland Air. Never heard of berry salt? Wow. How about that and yes, the foods looked absolutely delicious. Very very nice. Please keep coming out with more vlogs!!

Beautiful sights before landing.

I definitely would have chosen Saga Class. I'm 6ft2in tall and weigh 225pounds. Nice flight. Nice meal.
Thanks Quintin 😀💚

Great flight
His passport in the seat back pocket makes my stomach turn 😅 I would forget that in a heartbeat!
Was your recline in the last row the same as the other business class seats or were you restricted by the wall behind you?
Looking forward to my trip in September Dublin - Seattle via Reykjavik 🇦🇺👍
Iceland air service is excellent, love to see the 67 in service
cabin similar to Martinair Star Class at the time on long haul, angled seats. little privacy as well. No champagne as a pre-flight drink? and how do you get on board if you have a disability to climb stairs?
Love the drums at the end. If you haven't already, check out Zildjian in Norwood, MA next time you are in Boston.

Hopefully Icelandair flies to Kansas City again with the new terminal just opened
Love it ❤ from California USA 🎉🎉😂😂🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 thanks Fir sharing
Very nice! Even though it gave me the feeling that food is scarce in Iceland.
The 767 is nice.
I can’t believe the load factor was so small. How do they stay in business?
3:25 song is my favorite, Með þér by Jón Jónsson
Hi, you should try Aeromexico Premier Class
Even though their seats and cabin isn't much to brag about. The service is top notch
and you ate that other meal as well ?
Unfortunately no I was full. Felt kinda bad wasting it all 🙁
Fly to Kansas City sometime please to check out the new airport terminal!!!

A meal in the lounge at the airport, followed by 2 full meals onboard the aircraft during a 5 hour flight? A spectacular level of food consumption in a world much too full of starvation and malnutrition. American by any chance ?
I tracked that plane, apparently you were on it🤷♂️
This looks more premium economy than it does business class.
3 Daily flights during the peak season, most out of USA destinations.
I think you can’t really compare it to other European Business class since the seat is more like a premium economy seat without lie flat
"Saga" is also a Canadian classic rock band. Coincidence? 🤔
Yes Icelandair has got this name borrowed from the famous musical group or the Icelandic Saga which is about the most famous littérature in the world not sure
@@doddsalfa let's go with the latter! And thanks, I was able to read up about something I had never heard of before. Very interesting and educational.
They need a new airport terminal at Rekjavik airport
The Icelandic people in general have the warmth of a Siberian Winter!!
The portion size would make Thor happy
Have you been on Iceland Air 737 MAX yet???

Black tea with milk and a tiny bit of sugar is incredible

Yep, English Breakfast tea, not herbata. In England we almost always drink tea with milk.
Imagine being disabled and having to board the plane via stairs, this is why I prefer ramp boarding
