    What a gentleman Carlos Palimino was and still is. Such a great asset and ambassador to the sport of boxing. So modest, knowledgable and intelligent. He was an excellent boxer, a great ring technician and just like Duran, a super body puncher. Long Live The King. Would love to see him doing the boxing commentary at today's main fights and see him interviewed on the Joe Rogan Show.

      Carlos made a interesting point about
      Duran he never ask his opponents
      in upper weight class to come
      down at a catch weight great point!
      And also Carlos stated
      Duran was a”Complete”fighter
      you don’t hear that comment
      on today’s fighters .
      My opinion Duran’s in
      the top 10 fighters of all times 💥👊

    Not a boxing comment. But looking at king Carlos makes me think of our fallen queen. The great Aretha Franklin. Two of my favorite pastimes are boxing and music. There will be less to enjoy now that the queen of soul is gone.. A great singer and a legend of entertainment. Peace n smoke

    This is the kind of guy I'd enjoy sitting down and having a beer with. You can tell he's a gentleman and class act. Nothing cocky about him. Great fighter too. I also agree on his assessment of Duran being the best lightweight ever. When he went up in weight his punches didn't have the same effect on bigger guys, and at the advanced age, he was relying more on his ring skills (which were substantial). Still scored some impressive wins in the later part of his career.

    Duran fought everyone at the weight for each division ie Barkley was 4lbs heavier than him at the weigh in for the middleweight title + in the fight itself Barkley came in as a lightheavy whilst Duran was still a small middleweight, no catchweights for this warrior + no handicaps put on his opponent. Pac's continuous run of weakening opponents is pathetic, even his light m'weight title was won with both unranked + they fought as welters. Pacs opponents either have to lose muscle or put on fat.

    @thetruthis8 The man is an established All Time Great. What part of what he said was "hate"? Everytime a legitimate, established former champ says something about Manny that makes sense, Pacfans call it hate. What a shocker! Funny, all these Pacfans didn't give a damn about Boxing until Manny came around. Then they all magically transformed into Boxing Experts and Living Boxing Legends like Palomino doesn't know what he's talking about. Now THAT is funny.

    I've never been sold on Berto to be honest, i thought he lost to Collazo earlier in his career + was still waiting to see how good he was when Ortiz beat him. I hate Mayweather's persona but he's a great boxer + i do support his stance on stricter testing. I've heard the Floyd's test WADA/VADA caught Berto out whereas the USADA test that Arum/Pac etc says is good enough is the one people have been beating ie Peterson etc WADA which does the Olympics + most world sports have been saying its easy

    @skcusefil Hahaha. Why should Sergio fight Manny @ 147? It was Sergio's 154 VACATED title that Manny fought Margarito for. Funny, while Sergio was the 154 Champ, no offers to fight him came from Pac's Peeps. As soon as Sergio vacates, Pac is NOW ready to fight for it? And against who? The previously KO'D & unworthy Margarito and @ a catchweight. You want to give credit to Manny for "winning" his 8th title but you don't want him to fight the LEGITIMATE 154 Champ? You guys are hypocrites.

    @T74G duran was behind on the scorecards before he quit against leonard.
    and leonard beat him again in their 3rd fight.so they fought 3 times and leonard beat him twice.

    • @dannilaser16
      @dannilaser16 5 років тому

      Duran biggest enemy against Leonard was the fact that he let Ray get into his head and caused him to get frustrated.
      His ego was too big and that took away his game plan. “Leonard’s own words” glad that they are good friends nowadays. 2 classy guys for sure.

  • @jperez9805
    @jperez9805 13 років тому

    @laistar Well said. Boxing Culture has changed. We use to have 8 wt divisions. Now 17 with multiple sanctioning bodies. All the Pac fans identify greatness by the amount of division titles Manny has. So what? Fighting previously KO'D opponents for VACATED alphabet soup titles @ catchweights. Duran beat the man who beat the man, etc no catchweight. Remember, Duran went from 135 to 147. Completely bypassing 140 which he would have easily won if he fought the champ Cervantes. Pacfans, do research.

    you have it backwards. floyd touted the usada. which can be cheated.

  • @1969JohnnyM
    @1969JohnnyM 12 років тому

    I think they're both good, Manny as a fighter + Mayweather as a great boxer. There's a reason why one was a decorated amateur + one was'nt. After Lamont Peterson easily passed the highly criticised USADA test that WADA says is easily beatable + incidentally the same test team Pac wants + says is good enough, he failed over 2 months later the WADA style test that Mayweather supports. Do you condone cheating ? Tell Pac to take the WADA test the + sack Arum so the fight can happen.
