Down town was better when all the shopping stores were there and in the mall. Thst was a mistake to move them to union gap

that was the city raising taxes downtown and fefusing to modernize so all the businesses went to union gap.

I'm dating myself but when I was a teenager, that used to be packed on Friday nights as everyone "cruised the ave." I worked in the mall all through my teens until I moved away...the memories seeing that place.........

Driving the ave was the highlight of the weekends freezer to YMCA.. then of course where's the party!.. you could virtually hit 3-4 parties a night or keggers. Baseball hotdogs and halls Chevrolet next to squire field. Moved away myself came back home for a year after retirement, not the same feel.. but tons of memories.

Ps did you work at the Yakima mall or valley mall. Loved the Yakima mall... The sandwich shop lower level and some bar, on the same end I forget the name?

i spent every friday and saturday nite hangin out at the freezer(mostly Ike people when i was there} the arctic circle, Safeway parking lot(Davis kids and hippies hung out there) the gut would be jammed with teens driving back and forth, and in the summer the parties at the lakes and hills. was awesome growing up ther but i have been back and it is looking reall sad to me. filthy streets and empty business fronts everywhere
