The real horror is realizing how many truckers aren’t taking care of themselves and putting the rest of us in danger by not sleeping and using anything they can to keep themselves awake. Horrifying.
I was looking for someone else to mention this! These guys are legally required to take a 10-hour break after driving for 14 hours and then 34 hours off if they drive 60 hours over 7 consecutive days if they are in the US. If you need smelling salts to stay up and continue driving you are being reckless and endangering everyone around you!

As a truckers wife you couldn’t be more wrong if you tried. Sure some do this but most as incredibly responsible but are exhausted due to the heavy workload they are given. I think they deserve way more respect than they are given! Remember this is a few accounts out of thousands of drivers.
Rule of driving isolated roads. If you ever see a car stopped and it’s partially blocking the road. GTFO. Call the cops to help them, don’t ever get out of your car. People set up ambush points like that to rob or worse. Remember most people try to move their car to the side of the road in case of emergencies. If they didn’t, there’s a reason; don’t stick around to find out why
My thought as well. A car in the middle of road, in the middle of nowhere, is a red flag. Calling the cops would be the second thing my late husband (and my uncle too, who also drove freight.) The first is to take a good look and try to get around it.
Fr. I was plowing snow in a sketchy city, driving one of those big dump trucks, and a car swerved in front of me, stopping in the middle of the road, blocking me from going forward. I slammed on my brakes after kind of skidding, and sat there, hazards and strobes on. I thought he had popped a tire, had a mechanical issue, or there was an emergency. The guy gets out of his car and starts walking up to my truck furiously, holding something black in his hand. I did not know if it was a gun or a phone. Like bro it's 1am, -17°F, in the middle of a snowstorm with 30mph winds. I am NOT sticking around to find out. I'm a safe driver. I didn't hit anything, block any driveways, cars, or mailboxes, etc. There was NO reason for this guy to run up on my truck. I backed up and went down a side road. Bro followed me and laid on the horn until I got onto the main highway. I called my foreman and I guess a couple other of our company's drivers and operators got harassed too. A guy actually got a gun pulled on him and another one had a trash can thrown at his windshield. We were 28 hours in so I guess they thought we'd be easy pickings. Not even exaggerating, we got to 36 hours and had to call it quits since the county and city pulled all their highway departments off the roads due to conditions. That night taught me a lot about how malicious people are on the road💀. (Also municipal workers and first responders with CDLs are exempt from hours of service regulations, so I had to keep going or I'd lose my job)
Yeah, but the guy? in the last story had every right to be concerned about if some kids were in danger. I'll admit just seeing some random clothes on the road is definitely unusual, but what if it wasn't a trap?
@@monsterhanna6691 that’s why emergency professionals exist. And the clothing isn’t all that odd. I'm from India. 5 years ago I was driving my car through a forested part of a highway in the middle of the night and suddenly I saw a man laying motionless in the middle of the road. I instinctively slowed down but couldn't see blood or any signs of accident. I checked with my co passenger wether to stop because I was not sure. But we thought it is better to pass by because there wasn't any traffic on the road neither was any houses close by. So I drove on.

For a guy so desperate to make his delivery that he chose not to stop even though he could barely see the road, he seemed all too eager to spend a lot of time investigating some random car.
Weirdly enough, I could see this as being true IF he hadn't parked in the middle of the road and had the trunk sealed shut. I guess he could've been a foreigner unfamiliar with the rules or someone who just didn't care about other drivers.
I have one, once, when I was hitchhiking across the country to get to the Alamo (someone hid my bike in the basement after stealing it), I got in the truck of an elderly women named Large Marge. She started telling a ghost story about the worst accident she’d ever seen, which was unsettling enough, but then, she got to the part of the story where the body was retrieved, and she said ‘it looked like this’, then made by far the scariest face I’ve EVER seen, it looked like the mascot from those old honeycomb cereal commercials sort of, but WAY worse. Needless to say I noped out of there at the next gas station.
My soul just freezes with fear watching this story. It's like making your way through the darkness and hoping that something sinister doesn't catch you. You guys have nerves of steel! 💀😱
Mr. Nightmare, sir, I have one request. Can you start making longer videos? I have literally watched all of yours and that 20 min goes way too fast after waiting for a new one lol. I’ve been forced to find other horror story tellers once I finished yours, but hands down, you’re the best. And a nice hour long video would be MAGICAL🧙♂️
My GF used to be a trucker in Australia. She told me this one time she was driving in the Outback when a whole convoy of weird bald guys in cars started chasing her truck and throwing exploding spears at it. Wild story.
It's funny how many of these stories now have the word "literally" in them over & over. I can't wait until that word slows down. It's in so many sentences when it doesn't have to be.
It got popularized more around 2017 or so, zoomers start to put emphasis on everything they say, so they overused it and now its like the word "like" so annoying. You can actually watch any vloggers, they say stuff like, I literally just woke up. I literally ate. I am just tired of it too. That and there is another annoying phrase. ngl (not gonna lie) what an annoying thing to say. Not gonna lie, I thought it was great! So when I hear this, I feel like asking, what kind of a person are you? Does that mean by default you lie over stupid stuff and now you have to say not gonna lie as if you are going out of character to make this statement lol English is my 4th language and I really learned it from scratch teaching myself when I got started watching movies with subtitles. I think these new phrases and words are just ruining the language.
@Tdotttttt haha yeah I grew up in the time of the word "like." I'm constantly trying to watch my usage of the dreaded "like," but it is hard! Especially if I'm comfortable speaking with someone. Four languages is impressive! I really admire people who can speak multiple languages. It must open the world up so much

I've been a truck driver for about 20 years now and I have a story similar to the first one but the difference between me and him is I didn't stop. I did slow down enough to see what could possibly be going on but I didn't see anyone in or around the car so I just continued on to my destination. I'm 90% sure that even if there was someone standing around or sitting in the car I still wouldn't have stopped.
Those good ol' loud sound effects made me jump to high hell lol. Glad you put those on again. You've been missing that in your stories lately. Keep it up Mr Nightmare 👻

No he’s not a trucker! Talking about riding down the road watching the curtain behind him in the rear view mirror! I have owned 4 road tractors, never seen a rear view mirror in one.
Me too! I keep seeing it as semee in my mind. It’s a little distracting from the stories for me. I keep thinking how I wish he’d say it like the majority of other people do but then I remember it’s a regional thing and some people do say semee instead of sem-eye.

From Mizoram state, India. A couple of years ago (mid 2000s) a Oil Tanker was returning from a trip to Burma/Myanmar. At evening the truck was stopped by a woman in the highway which was in the middle of a tropical jungle infamous for 'The Spirit of Sleeping Lady' and other apparitions that have become urban legends here. The woman asked for a lift and incidentally both were from the same town. They reached home at midnight and said their goodbyes. The next morning the woman remembered she had left her jacket in the truck and went to retrieve it. To her shock, she was told by the man's wife that he died 2 weeks back. She didn't believe it and went to check his grave. There she saw her jacket hanging upon the cross of the grave. Can't confirm if its true but read her interview in the local town newspaper.
So much for falling asleep to scary stories. Every story practically ending with an ad will definitely suddenly wake me from any progress toward sleep.
An EMPTY 18-wheeler is about 17.5 tons. Depending on the load, a full one can be up to 40 tons (maximum allowed under US law). Someone driving a passenger car trying to ram that is going to get a crash course in physics....
The car wouldn’t ram him, it might drive up under his trailer, but that’s a lot different than ramming the truck or trailer. Stories on here are ridiculous.

As a former truck driver myself, I bare witness to God that I saw unexplainable phenomena driving 48 states. I NEVER STOPPED when i was alone never. It was 2003/2004 And switched from CRST to US EXPRESS. I was done after that, and went local, no more long haul.
Is this true regarding truckers in the US? Feels insane risking your life (and your longterm health) by not sleeping and possibly falling asleep at the wheel. Is there no mandatory rest time between deliveries and how long you can drive before having to sleep? This was for me the true horror of the video.
I need a part two.. My dad used to be a truck driver and just imagining him in anything of those situations.. man, my respect goes out to all the truck drivers!

You can't help anyone if your dead, injured, or captured so best thing to do is call the police they are (hopefully) better trained and equipped to handle these situations.

The scariest part of all these stories is how tired the truck drivers are and their methods of staying awake

Trucker "I was afraid he was going to ram me" as he is in a huge truck that weighs a tone and is very strong
An EMPTY 18-wheeler is about 17.5 tons. Depending on the load, a full one can be up to 40 tons (maximum allowed under US law). Someone driving a passenger car trying to ram that is going to get a crash course in physics....
I think anyone has a right to be scared about something like that. Trucker or not.
The car wouldn’t ram him, it might drive up under his trailer, but that’s a lot different than ramming the truck or trailer. Stories on here are ridiculous.
