Open, unrepentant sin in the church cannot be condoned or tolerated. It must be confronted and properly dealt with. Anything less is to bring Christ’s church down to the level of the world and mute its message that Christ delivers us from sin and its power.

Amen on the 'house on fire analogy'! 'God' has impressed upon me judgment IS coming and time IS running out. So it it like this with me - if I were walking down the street, even at 3 AM and saw a house on fire, I would bang as loudly as possible on the doors and windows to try to wake up any occupants inside. If they got angry about being 'disturbed' and then went back to sleep, it is now on them, I have 'done my part'. NO Christian should ever want ANYONE to go to hell. Period. Thank you for your devotions. My wife got us doing these way back on the first one and we do it M-F and then two or more of them Saturday and Sunday. go and sin no more .... do you realize how IMPOSSIBLE that is? do you realize what Jesus is really saying? THEY WERE GETTING READY TO STONE HER. IN A SENSE (NOT CONSIDERING THE PROVIDENCE OF GOD FOR JUST A MOMENT, BECAUSE CLEARLY THIS WAS PLANNED AND CAPTURED IN SCRIPTURE) SHE IS LUCKY JESUS WAS THERE. Jesus is telling her you won't be so lucky next time, you will die a humiliating and painful death.
when Jesus puts the impossible in front of you, it is all about getting you to believe in Him so you can experience His life, power and mediation, which is where the real power to overcome sin resides
