I went to see Guy on Oct 3rd. Was able to buy a tube of those ASE’s he bought recently. He treated me well, signed and gave me one of his dollars and posed for a picture with me. Great experience!! Everyone should make the trip if they’re close by!!

@@alangrund5031 I was so thrilled to be there and he was pulling stuff out of his safe for me I didn’t even ask. I bought the 20 ASE’s, a tube of 1958 unc Franklin halves, a roll of 20 unc Morgan dollars and 7 1893 Colombian halves for a total of 2190 bucks. Seemed about right for the total so didn’t worry to much about details. I guess if figured it was what it was. I was more focused on getting a pic with the 3 of them and then he surprised me with the dollar bill with his face for free. He signed it for me. So I got the value I was looking for on that day in those circumstances. Hope that makes sense to you🙂

Funny, Americans seem to think that Canada is all tied up in government rules and laws but I can buy 1oz or 100oz of silver at a coin shop in Ontario and they don’t have to take my finger prints or drivers license. Sounds like big brother is alive and well in America as much as in Canada.
Try selling and see if the same thing happens.

Regarding the Queen on coins, the Royal mint released a new 50 pence coin ( with the Queen on) for the 10th anniversary of the BBC. They sold out of all their high end gold and silver editions in 2 hours with people queuing to buy them. The demand for the final coins with the Queen on is pretty strong.
They are already taking pre orders for the initial King Charles's the Third's coins.

All commodity markets have many many times more trades than actually settle physical. No matter how many financial trades you make, you still need to close any longs or shorts before the monthly settlement. Spoofing and misreporting trades can affect the market and are super illegal. But those are a completely different animal than financial institutions making loads of trades and booking out before close rather than settling physically.
Can't wait to see Coin Guy live some day in the land of free Florida, maybe this winter season during the Fun Show !. Keep America Land of the Free and in God we trust !.

I really enjoy these chats with Guy the coin guy. This is Americana at its best. I’m 60 and ready to retire. Thinking about opening a coin shop, been in the hobby for 45 years. Love the hobby and the people.
Dont do it now, all the risks in even getting the building, all the government flim flam, maybe go to coin shows, take your coins to coin guy, ask him if your in florida. It will be a lot of work til you gt to the level of easing up. Take them to pawn shops whatever you do. Tell your family the value of what you have give implicit directions try to train up someone that s not money hungry and knows the value. Would hate to see your collecction being bartered off for $5,0000 cause they dont know.

I would feel very comfortable buying from Coin Guy. Seems honest, and has passion for his trade. As for Florida, it’s too bad that none of their Republican senators or congressman voted to approve getting hurricane aid. Disgraceful.
The technology involved in exploring, mining and refining metals also plays a role. It certainly impacts prices. The big thing is not all billion is the same. If something has collector value. I bought my first investment in silver in the late 1990s and early 2000s. It was in Barber dimes and Carson dollars below spot. I made millions of that 1200 ounces because it was unique. If it is just rounds it probably is not a good idea to invest.

The American Eagle on a US coin use to have both arrows and olive branches in its talons signifying American offers peace but also is ready for war. Today the US Mint went "woke" and now the American Eagle only has olive branches in its talons.

I would like to know what in the USA is classed as a credit card ? Is it a card that debits direct from your bank account. Or a card that issues credit from a finance company.
As here in England a debit card comes direct from your Bank account. And credit card is credit from thin air from a finance company
PS please ask the coin guy to do a review of British pre 1920 silver coins especially the 1847 Gothic crown.

We have a tough situation with education. Democrats won't push for modernizing it because you will need less professors and bankers make less. Republicans won't create more scholarships when even Germany sends the top 30% to school. It also costs a fraction of what it does here in Germany.

Even IF silver were to hit $100, wouldn't the numismatic coin values 'catch up' to be whatever the numismatic value was at the old spot price, but now with the new spot price? Or were the dealers that were breaking up mint sets somewhat sure of themselves that the $50 peak silver spot price (in the early 80s) was going to be shortlived?

Pretty sure that tax law in Florida on $500 of bullion is specifically designed to keep the poor disadvantaged it’s the same way in California but in California the limit is $1000 before you don’t have to pay tax. Here in Missouri there’s no tax on Bullion.
Oh Man. I just don't know about Guy. Walking around with a revolver on his hip and all. Nah, just kidding. I'm all about it! I'm good in 35 states. Oddly though Florida isn't one of them for whatever reason.

That is complete bologna about buying silver as presumably a hedge against inflation? Do you know if you bought 1 oz of silver in 1977 for $5 in 2022 it should now be worth $24.44. It's only $19.34 as of today. That means not only did your silver not keep up with inflation you actually lost $5.01 over a 45 yr period. Bwahaha. Don't delude yourself that silver or gold is going to economically save you. It's not. It's all in the timing of getting in low and getting out high and no one has a crystal ball.

Beware of someone sticking a GPS tracker on your car at these coin shows. It happened here at to a coin dealer. He got home, way out in the country, and didn't unload is trunk. He lost 50-60K in silver.
