Jean Genet died in Paris April 15, 1986, and a few hours later in Baltimore I was born on April 16. I feel the connection as a writer with he, who wrote angelically about thievery and prostitution, as I feel a connection with Charles Chaplin, who's birthday was 98 years before, April 16, 1888.

I wonder how many boys from orphanages found love from other boys....nowhere else. I know of two such.
