Asked this young lady to dance here back in '95. Even though she lived in Tampa and I lived in NYC....we've now been married going on 23 years. Magical place.
I was there every weekend after work. Crazy to think Disney got rid of it now. Everyone was there @ around 12:00, including the tourists, lol. Loved that place.
I worked at Mannequins I the early 2000’s. I never knew the mannequins were dressed. They were all painted silver by the time I got there. Most of them had eyes that glowed as well.
I was drunk there every Thursday (cast member night) in 1990. They served something called a Manni-can, which was a Long Island iced tea in a small plastic garbage can. Many a drink was spilled on the spinning dance floor. Good times.
I went to PI in July 1997 but was not 21 or over so I couldn't go Into Mannequins but always wanted to. This was great to see. Did they ever have animated displays of Mannequins?
No, they had lots of exquisite, over the top decorated mannequins that had spot lights on them. But none ever moved. When you got in, they had an elevator that only took you to the 3rd floor so it was climactic when the elevator opened with the view & loud music, Disney style. You could see the dance floor below & as you slowly started to walk down to the dance floor you saw all the mannequins lit up all over the place, everywhere. Loved that place, was there every weekend. Not sure if they still have clubs @ Disney Springs, but Pleasure Island was lots of clubs all by themselves, remember you had to walk over a bridge that separated the clubs from the shopping village.

I went to PI plenty of times on cast member free days, but never went into Mannequins. 😭
What day of the week was CM free day? We always knew when we were there on that night - totally different crowd.
