Lease termination highlights affordable housing income verification process in Montana

Low-income apartments are one way Missoula is addressing the demand for housing, and the story of one woman’s termination of lease sheds light on the income verification process.
Leah Zoller has until June 30 to take her pets, son and leave Missoula’s Villagio Apartments. Days after a hospital visit last month, Zoller received notice she had not reported all of her earnings upon moving in last August, and with all her income, she would not have qualified for the Villagio Apartments.
