The PD-91 is beautiful but it doesn't sound very good. I compared it against several cheaper cd players from Marantz or Sony and lost. but it's really pretty haha
I have three of these. The one I have now is quite good. I also have a PD-93, PD-75, PD-71 and a few other lesser players. I had the PD-73 for awhile. My favorite is the 93, sometimes the 75. Then the 91. In my opinion the 71 is at the bottom. I liked the 73 better than the 71.
@@twestby2113 I see that you are an expert! I have only had pd91 and pd8500, and to me they sound bad. Following your recommendation I am going to look for a pd93 that also has a great constructive aesthetic!
No, Pd-91 look very nice but but it sounds poorly. 1. PD 95 (1992) 2. PD 93 (1990) 3. PD 75 (1991) PD 73 (1990) PD 71 / PD 9300 (1989) - a few words of justification: the differences between these models are in fact not large despite the use of different converters (from 18-bit PCM 58 in the K version to the proprietary 1-bit), the best seems to be PD 75 but it is not such a difference to give it a separate item, the prices of CDs in this series were identical and amounted to 2,000 DM, it is worth adding that such PD 71 / PD 9300 was produced back in 1993 parallel to PD 75, suspect similar to PD 73. 4. PD-S 901 / PD 65 Elite (1992) PD 9700 (1991) - a slight advantage of PD-S 901 / PD 65 Elite which differs from the PD 9700 by using the Legato Link Conversion system, I had both one after the other. 5. PD 8500 (1990) 6. PD 7300 (1990) - a big surprise, but it's a model with gold-plated sockets that sounds really good. 7. PD 8700 (1991) PD-S 801 (1992) - PD-S 801 is a significantly impoverished version of the PD-S 901, sonically close to PD 8700 (in my opinion)
@@przemassLU it is only your opinion as to what sounds good or bad. In my opinion the 91 doesn’t sound “poorly”, it’s actually fairly decent. But it is not as good as my 75 or 93 though.
Beautiful. When it comes to looks, no audio equipment comes close to the Elite series, especially the ones with the rosewood side panels.
They are pretty.
Nice system. Pioneer Integrated amp and top of the line Pioneer Tuner
a tuner?

This was one of them. The others were PD93 and PD75. Both sound better to me than the 91. Although the 91 is pretty decent.

It was in its time. After this came the PD93 which I do like better. I have a PD75 which is my favorite of the three.
