I upgraded my S900 floppy drive to an emulator and discovered the rotary dial isn't working. The sellers are telling me sometimes the wires inside the emulator come loose so I have to open it back up & remove the drive to see if the wires aren't loose or crossed 🙄 So, like yourself, I'm now swapping out the display with an LED so I'm hoping that while the faceplate is off, the drive is easier to get at than when I first installed it with the faceplate on. BTW: I bought my LED from the same seller. I got the "Arctic White" 🙂
I think those two wires you cut go to a voltage regulator which can be completely removed as the new display doesn't use it. I saw a video before where that regulator starts to make a high pitch whistle kind of like an old TV. I suppose if it's not making any noise you can just leave it.
Great Job Bro!!! #Salute...👑✨👑
