I agree. I graduated in 2010 and only had maybe 1 real lockdown threat in high school maybe 2008 but luckily everyone was okay. I understand this reality for us Americans is quite unimaginable to South Koreans. The disconnect with this menacing issue is very obvious in both reactors. I don’t think they understood the first video. I’ve never thought of it as a PSA about what to do during a shooting. I’ve always thought it was a PSA about preventing shootings and how bizarre it is that school supplies like book bags are sold as “bullet proof”. It didn’t seem like they were given good translations.

I was more scared of one of my peers shooting up the school because they had a bad day. This also effected me paying attention in my classes because I’m always looking in the hallways to make sure nothings going on. High school was scary. i like this reaction channel as they have great reactors and content but this video was not it. i understand that they were not given prior knowledge and a good translation of what was happening in those videos but it is still a serious and painful reality to the people in the US and other countries as well. if this was a video about western cinematography their comments would have made sense but it was not. the videos they were shown were about real situations. the videos act like a slap to the face of what goes on in schools hence why they are psa’s. what mattered in those two videos were the message they were trying to give not how well the video was edited and put together. it’s a shame they didn’t get the full experience and emotion behind those two videos. i would like to see better preparation behind the scenes (like actually researching) when it comes to heavy subjects like this one and better explanations when it comes to the commentary sections. this video could have been better.
fr- and people tryna say “ThEy DiDn’T hAvE cApTiOnS” and I get that but I’m not being funny it’s very obvious that it’s a serious thing and it’s something that a lot of young lives have been taken in.. they aren’t kids themselves so they should’ve known to be more considerate of the way they reacted.
i wish there was a translation of the videos because it makes everything so much more meaningful. tbh it made me uncomfortable when they laughed in between commercials because tomorrow i could be a victim, my friend could be a victim, or even my friend's friend. even if they're laughing because they're uncomfortable it still feels disrespectful to the victims of past school shootings and all the lives lost.
Thats stupid as fuck they were watching a fictional commercial. Not the actual shoooting. Stop with this victim shit. Everyone throws the word victim around like skittles. Grow up and wake up. School shootings are RARE. The media hypes them up.
ya but it’s not rlly their fault bc they don’t rlly know what theyre saying bc they don’t know much english. sorry if i came out rude😅i also wish there was translation in the videos so they can understand more
@@olivia_andc idk i speak english fluently so obviously i have no idea what watching this video without knowing much english would be like, but if i turn off the sound it's still all the more impactful. like the girl crying in the stall and stuff. you don't need a translation to know she's distressed.
I remember the first lockdown I had when a robber with a gun broke into my elementary school. I was 11 and locked in a bathroom stall and I truly thought I wasn’t going to be going home that day. And yet still our country won’t take action to make the world safer, instead all we get for our children dying is “thoughts and prayers.”
What would you suggest we do? Do you believe criminals will show up at police stations and just turn in their guns? NO. But guess who will? LAW ABIDING CITIZENS. That means only CRIMINALS WILL HAVE GUNS. And innocent people will have no defense. Stop and THINK.
5:14 That's... not it. The PSA is to show awareness that school shootings are prevalent and sad. It's not something that kids should be worried about. It's for people to take action against it -- whether it be noticing signs of distressed students, counseling, or gun control. Hmm also, they're not just movies. They are real life for a lot of people. So many kids have actually died. I think the fact they liked the second one because of the filmography speaks volumes. And I wish kids here in the U.S. can be just as oblivious and ignorant about stuff like this. The first one makes me cry every time.
@SHINE TEEN I get that these people were uncomfortable and there weren’t translations to get accross the whole point but these kids still understand that these PSAs are about school shootings. It isn’t a laughing matter where you compare it to movie scenes, there are some people who are really hurting out there. Please if possible hire a translator who can fully explain the PSA
The fact that when this happened in my school plenty of times there was never a shooter. And we would have to lock and turn the lights off in the classroom and cover the window so they wont look in and hide away from the door or infront of it so they wont see you but kids would be laughing and being loud not taking it serious
No hate, but if you're going to show serious videos like this, have translated captions. Make sure they understand what they're watching. Maybe show them articles/videos of actual school shooting survivors/protests/news beforehand.
could you guys not laugh at this type of stuff? i know this doesn't happen in korea but for american students it's an actual fear we have, so when you guys laugh, its a slap in the face to all the families who went through losing someone to gun violence.
Someone else pointed out that they didn't translate the psa, so the Koreans probably were given a half-assed explaination abt the psas. Maybe that's why they laughed??
Knowing the meaning behind everything in the first PSA video is scary. I live an hour away from Stoneman Douglas High School known for the Parkland shooting in 2018 and it's really really scary how so many kids experience this and how we need to learn how to protect ourselves in a place where we thought is safest. I think the producer's could've went into more detail with the PSA videos they showed. I love these two so much, I love the videos they are in but hearing them chuckle about how what they would do in the situation makes me know that they weren't told in much detail about these videos. Hopefully producers know in the future to explain more about serious topics like this one. Still an amazing and informative video! As always keep up the good work!:)
You guys should have gave them a translation of those ads, because they don’t understand…it’s not a funny topic that should be taken lightly. These are situations that happen in real life.
i’m honestly really envious of their reactions. it must be surreal for them to think that “guns” and “school” can be connected in some way. but it did make me really uncomfortable when they laughed in between watching, as this is one of the things i fear the most as a high school student. i know they don’t understand, and for the most part CAN’T understand, as their government actually took measures to prevent gun violence. still, such a heavy topic should have been properly translated to them, as well as given an in depth explanation for the meanings behind both PSAs. it’s disappointing how this topic was handled during this video. I myself have never been in a school shooting, but there was a shooting in the neighborhood right across from my elementary school, and we had to go on lockdown. at the time, it was almost the end of the school day, and we were about to go home. but then suddenly as we were leaving, we all heard both the intercoms and teachers frantically shouting at students to stay inside- that we were going under a hard lockdown. i was in the fifth grade, and it was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. i remember people screaming and students being shoved back inside. we were all crying, it all happened so fast. facts were distorted, we all thought the shooter was on campus. it was horrible. there were kids praying under tables, teachers trying to calm us down, discussions on whether this would be our last moments. that is our harsh reality. i’m so sorry. i guess i just can’t handle the fact that one of the scariest thing i’ve experienced, was summarized in the way it was in this video. i’m glad they don’t understand the concept of school shootings, but at the same time it does make me envious.
guys please don't get mad they were given rough translations and also they can't relate to gun related stuff if anything they should be told or look up just how common school shootings are for us and how it's not just caused by bullied kids but kids that have access and aren't taught better about guns
I agree that they weren't given a proper translation but you shouldn't be asking people to not get upset about this type of stuff. People can be upset and that's a normal reaction when you see someone laughing at something so serious. It's not like anyone is attacking these kids or saying rude stuff about them.
I get that and they were of course very lost because of 0 translations so they didn’t really know what they were entirely watching but they obviously knew they were watching something somewhat serious, which is why I did feel a little unsettled when they laughed. So many children and just young people in general have lost their lives in school shootings, and so because of that people are gonna be mad and upset due to their reactions. Of course it isn’t entirely their fault and the person behind the video should’ve given a better explanation while including captions but at the end of the day they ain’t children, they should know better. I ain’t hating, I just think their reactions were a little bit uncalled for. :/
@@casluvs a lot of people laugh when they're uncomfortable and don't know want to do. There's also very sad and at a loss for words during the video. It's not like they were treating it like every other video it's just very obvious this is not the reality they live in
if they couldn’t get ahold of a translation of it and properly translate it then why react to it at all? it just makes them look bad considering the actual topic
People are sensitive AF and want to interpret things their own way and keep it that way. If they really saw they video they would of seen how sad almost crying the girl looked everytime after getting an actual explanation of the videos and how the guy was all nervous as well. They're probably laughing as a coping mechanism because they're uncomfortable. As we all should have the right to be uncomfortable AND scared that school shootings even happen.

America has such HIGH SCHOOL/PUBLIC shooting incidents it becomes (hate so much to say it)but an UNWANTED and DREADFUL norm here. In high school (at least mines and in surrounding areas) we always did code drills, lockdowns, and etc because there was a time when school shootings were happening literally every year or even every few months which should not be happening AT ALL! I want to say for me after the "Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting" that happened in 2018 in Parkland Florida, that really impacted a lot of students all over America. It was trending on the news nationwide nonstop and it sparked a lot of anger and emotions! ...and caused many schools to have more talks about school shootings and protocols on how to stay safe during an active shooter and what not to do. 17 people (including high schoolers and teachers) passed away that day from the shooting at Stoneman. I just don't know why America won't do and think more about Gun legislation and its control policy which is VERY MUCH NEEDED HERE in this country.
UMM VERY SIMPLE. HAVE METAL DETECTORS. Have your own guns in the hands of either trained staff or a security guard. It really is that simple. But the government won't pay for that kind of security. Why? Because they do not want to SOLVE the issue. They want to take law-abiding citizens' guns away so they are in total control.
But when you notice and look up other countries in the school America is the country with police inside the school armed even saddest that younger kids also get Target but the ads on show older kids🙇🏾♀️
I was in high school back when the Columbine shooting happened. It was horrible, and as the years have passed, shootings happening regularly, I think people are getting desensitized to the horror. Sandy Hook- with all those first grade babies shot and killed- is even surrounded by conspiracy theories that it was a hoax. 😢 When my daughter started kindergarten a couple years ago, it broke my heart to find out that on top of fire drills and earthquake drills, they also have several active shooter drills throughout the year. I am a nurse, and we hospital staff have to deal with weapons brought in, and have regular active shooter education-- run, hide, fight! But unfortunately we live in a society that celebrates gun use and continues to make criminal behavior in movies and TV look cool, so now there are a bunch of mentally ill thugs running around. Anyway... its a sad reality, and I feel awful for kids today.
We had a bomb threat at the junior high (7/8th grade) and four ‘shootings’ at my high school. ‘Shootings’ as, thank god, no one was hurt and the kids where caught, but things are real and the way they went about this video was just not the move...it hurts us Americans to have this constant fear at a place that should be the safest for us. Our schools are so messed up, and I just wish they could’ve better tried to grasp that.
I remember when the Stoneman Douglas shooting happened, I was watching it unfold live on the news. My mother was watching and there were tears in her eyes. The kids that died were my age, and that struck a chord in her heart. We had shooting/bomb threats, a restaurant worker was shot on campus and the suspect fled behind the school, and one of our elementary school teachers was shot and killed while in school not long before the fall session was supposed to start, another one of my teachers was injured. The suspect was a hateful boyfriend looking for his girlfriend who was in the school, but he never found her. This was in a town that was considered safe. My school still has a gazebo that was built in her memory and have a scholarship fund in her name. RIP Alicia Shanks :(

The fact that they’re laughing and giggling, they didn’t understand the commercials very well. They are oblivious to how common and serious this issue is for Americans. The channel in charge didn’t do a good job of getting the point across. As someone who’s been in a lockdown, I wish these kids could really understand the fear we felt. But I’m glad they don’t have to deal with the BS of guns the way we have to.
I legit got a little teary eyed. I am so grateful to have never had this happen anywhere near me. There are so many kids who watch this and say "This is so boring, it'll never actually happen." When it does happen then they're going to wish they took the video seriously or they'll be another victim. Survive the shooting or die, those are the only two options you have because this can happen at any school at any time.
I had an event similar to the events shown. someone had a gun but was caught before he could kill anyone. the only injury was a bullet to the hand, but I will never forget this message over the intercom: "we are going into lockdown. This is not a drill".
People are complaining about them laughing like people don't laugh when they're nervous, lost, confused or plain uncomfortable. Did y'all even look at the girl and how sad she looked and like she was about to cry every time they explained and how the boy tried to explain the second video but couldn't find the words? It was obvious that they were nervous and confused and sad. People use laughing or chuckling as a coping mechanism in a lot of situations that seem absurd in the way that it should NOT happen. Please stop being sensitive and anyone hating on these kids y'all are sick.
When I was a junior my school a possible school shotting many parents came and picked up there kids but I stayed and thank god nothing happend… we even have drills for this but I’ve always found it not really useful because happens the shooter was one of us
this goes for me as well someone made a threat to shoot up 2 schools one in my state the other in another state but they didn’t say what schools it would be so a bunch of kids didn’t come to school those 2 days. Personally i also went to school anyway as my parents forced me to and nothing happened but it was still scary walking around school all day waiting for something to possibly happen
That's nothing. Imagine the 4-5-year-olds doing active shooter drills. You can understand being older, but we have to teach this sh*t to toddlers 요즘은 4살짜리 아이들과도 능동 사격 훈련을 해야 합니다. 상상 해봐. 농담이 아니야. 아이들은 이런 식으로 생활함으로써 악몽을 꾸고 있습니다.

I've experienced a lock down for am escaped, armed prisoner who almost got into my old elementary school + my siblings schools have been threatened before as well... School shootings/threats of a shooting happen more than ever now.. It's terrifying
Apparently some schools in the states have made it mandatory to only have see through backpacks 😕 its scary and sad that us US Americans need to take precautions like see through bags, bullet proof bags. Its a lot
Ok I'm barely at the first ad they're watching and all teary eyed. Children shouldn't have to fear for their lives at school. Yet so many people in power, with the power to do something more about it choose profits over protecting children's lives.
we had a two hour lock down at my school because there was someone with a gun in the school library (although they said there wasn't even though someone recorded the security guard saying there was a gun)
Remember that the way they explain things in their language, even though there are translation subtitles - some of it may be missed because some of the things they say may not translate well into English and a comparable explanation like "they use school supplies for school shootings" may not be a complete picture of what they are actually saying in their language.
my school had a few bomb and shooting threats but nothing really severe has happened. there is a great fear though, especially hearing about the shootings from schools that are close by.
So what’s really scary about middle school is that younger kids in the 6th grade are less likely to start a shooting but the older kids are so if they are kinda mixed together then
i’m sorry but seeing these people react to the commercials and laugh about them as if they were just movies doesn’t sit right with me…occasionally these occurrences become reality to people and them generally reacting it as if it’s for entertainment purposes…🤢🤢 it’s a thumbs down from me
They weren't laughing at gun violence. They were laughing at the fact that they couldn't easily pick up on the cleverly hidden messages in these ads and how it required repeated viewing to figure out what these ads were trying to convey, which is exactly what the producers were trying to get them to discuss. It's obvious they're viewing these ads with the mindset of: "oh this is what you do just in case these things happen." But in their minds, it's not something that is really going to happen. And that's because they're not sitting at home watching the news about school shootings in foreign countries and they just haven't heard much about it.
you do realize them laughing is just because they can't comprehend it ever happening to them in Korea , even with the explanation they still don't get it but that's just coz we in US are used to this kinda shiii, the fact that even little kids in elementary school have these drills is just sad
it's crazy how hard it is for them to understand these.. i don't think they got the point of the first one at all. just has to do with things they don't think about in their lives.
Is it normal to see a photo of someone holding on an online social platform? Because I just double checked if he was just scrolling past really quickly so therefore he didn't notice, but he definitely saw that. It was on his screen clearly for more than around half a second, and he didn't even go back to check if the gun was his imagination or not. He saw it and just left as if it was a normal thing to see???
Hmmm.. not to be that person... But if you couldn't explain it properly or don't have the proper translation for these kind of videos, then maybe you should think twice before reacting to it??? i like this reaction channel as they have great reactors and content but this video was not it. i understand that they were not given prior knowledge and a good translation of what was happening in those videos but it is still a serious and painful reality to the people in the US and other countries as well. if this was a video about western cinematography their comments would have made sense but it was not. the videos they were shown were about real situations. the videos act like a slap to the face of what goes on in schools hence why they are psa’s. what mattered in those two videos were the message they were trying to give not how well the video was edited and put together. it’s a shame they didn’t get the full experience and emotion behind those two videos. i would like to see better preparation behind the scenes (like actually researching) when it comes to heavy subjects like this one and better explanations when it comes to the commentary sections. this video could have been better.
fr- and people tryna say “ThEy DiDn’T hAvE cApTiOnS” and I get that but I’m not being funny it’s very obvious that it’s a serious thing and it’s something that a lot of young lives have been taken in.. they aren’t kids themselves so they should’ve known to be more considerate of the way they reacted.
OSSC did very good job at explaining it to them
i wish there was a translation of the videos because it makes everything so much more meaningful. tbh it made me uncomfortable when they laughed in between commercials because tomorrow i could be a victim, my friend could be a victim, or even my friend's friend. even if they're laughing because they're uncomfortable it still feels disrespectful to the victims of past school shootings and all the lives lost.
Thats stupid as fuck
they were watching a fictional commercial.
Exactly like how does gun violence have more rights than Woman Rights!?
5:14 That's... not it. The PSA is to show awareness that school shootings are prevalent and sad. It's not something that kids should be worried about. It's for people to take action against it -- whether it be noticing signs of distressed students, counseling, or gun control.
Hmm also, they're not just movies. They are real life for a lot of people. So many kids have actually died.
I think the fact they liked the second one because of the filmography speaks volumes. And I wish kids here in the U.S. can be just as oblivious and ignorant about stuff like this. The first one makes me cry every time.
I remember watching them to think about what I’d do in that situation
Yup. “Active Shooter Drills.”
No hate, but if you're going to show serious videos like this, have translated captions. Make sure they understand what they're watching. Maybe show them articles/videos of actual school shooting survivors/protests/news beforehand.
could you guys not laugh at this type of stuff? i know this doesn't happen in korea but for american students it's an actual fear we have, so when you guys laugh, its a slap in the face to all the families who went through losing someone to gun violence.
well, yeah it wasn't funny but maybe If America was a more safer country shit like that wouldn't happen
@@ToBeDetermined553 what's "more safer" in your opinion, then? what can make a country "more safe"?
Every country is dangerous in different ways.
Someone else pointed out that they didn't translate the psa, so the Koreans probably were given a half-assed explaination abt the psas. Maybe that's why they laughed??
the psa werent translated for them, so i dont think they understood anything
These are situations that happen in real life.
school is starting up soon everyone. if you’re going back in person, please be safe.
i’m honestly really envious of their reactions. it must be surreal for them to think that “guns” and “school” can be connected in some way.
but it did make me really uncomfortable when they laughed in between watching, as this is one of the things i fear the most as a high school student. i know they don’t understand, and for the most part CAN’T understand, as their government actually took measures to prevent gun violence.
still, such a heavy topic should have been properly translated to them, as well as given an in depth explanation for the meanings behind both PSAs.
it’s disappointing how this topic was handled during this video.
As we all should have the right to be uncomfortable AND scared that school shootings even happen.
seeing this and realizing that this dude at my school BROUGHT A GUN and another dude THREATENED to shoot up my school also while nearby my school there was a stabbing at ANOTHER SCHOOL. and recently there was a school shooting 3 days ago.
AND? There are murders tons of them everyday. DoNT BE MAD AT GUNS. BE MAD THAT YOUR TAX PAYING MAMA ISNT GETTING THE PROTECTION SHE NEEDS IN SCHOOL FOR HER CHILD. MEANING ARM THE TEACHERS, TRAIN THEM. GET METAL DETECTORS.
I only noticed the photo when the guy was scrolling some posts.
When my daughter started kindergarten a couple years ago, it broke my heart to find out that on top of fire drills and earthquake drills, they also have several active shooter drills throughout the year.
Anyway... its a sad reality, and I feel awful for kids today.
hmmm never heard of an active shooter at a hospital in my entire life
We had a bomb threat at the junior high (7/8th grade) and four ‘shootings’ at my high school.
Do you grasp their pov?
RIP Alicia Shanks :(
am i glad i was born at malaysia....? i feel sad & scared about children at usa...gun shooting so scaring
Im half korean living in america and when i told my korean cousins that I learned how to make a barricade and how to clean a wound in middle school they were actually terrified

Did the guy just said it isn't about prevention??? You really need to explain to them what these ads mean
The back to school one never fails to make me cry a bit 💔
When I was a junior my school a possible school shotting many parents came and picked up there kids but I stayed and thank god nothing happend… we even have drills for this but I’ve always found it not really useful because happens the shooter was one of us
this goes for me as well someone made a threat to shoot up 2 schools one in my state the other in another state but they didn’t say what schools it would be so a bunch of kids didn’t come to school those 2 days. Personally i also went to school anyway as my parents forced me to and nothing happened but it was still scary walking around school all day waiting for something to possibly happen
this reaction wasnt it. it showed a lot of insensitivity. these things are serious and scary. stop laughing at it.
Bet. You dont know or give a fuck whats going on in North Korea. So shut up. Why should they care?
Whats scary is american gang culture. Living in the hood is more dangerous than going to a white school. You obviously never lived in the real world.
That's nothing. Imagine the 4-5-year-olds doing active shooter drills. You can understand being older, but we have to teach this sh*t to toddlers

they were wrong ab the first one, it’s being awareness about school shooting not just what to do during one.

Me da mas miedo vivir en Estados Unidos que aquí en mexico aun sabiendo que no no va tan bien tampoco pero balaceras en escuelas es demasiado
Ok I'm barely at the first ad they're watching and all teary eyed. Children shouldn't have to fear for their lives at school. Yet so many people in power, with the power to do something more about it choose profits over protecting children's lives.
When you notice the shooter on the right side.. 3:03
Same as when the girl shows her new binders, the teacher is locking the door on the left
Those kids were better prepared and certainly more capable than the entire Uvalde Police Dept.
we had a two hour lock down at my school because there was someone with a gun in the school library (although they said there wasn't even though someone recorded the security guard saying there was a gun)
Remember that the way they explain things in their language, even though there are translation subtitles - some of it may be missed because some of the things they say may not translate well into English and a comparable explanation like "they use school supplies for school shootings" may not be a complete picture of what they are actually saying in their language.
Man oh man, that Sandy Hook school supply ad brings me to tears every time.
School shootings arent common in korean school but brutal bullying is

this psa was probably the sadest one i have seen but most relatable, i was asking my dad one time for my own pocket knife
So what’s really scary about middle school is that younger kids in the 6th grade are less likely to start a shooting but the older kids are so if they are kinda mixed together then
That dude looked hella annoyed by that girl 💀
i’m sorry but seeing these people react to the commercials and laugh about them as if they were just movies doesn’t sit right with me…occasionally these occurrences become reality to people and them generally reacting it as if it’s for entertainment purposes…🤢🤢 it’s a thumbs down from me
They weren't laughing at gun violence.
Imagine if we laughed like this during the Sewol ferry disaster bruhhhh

Because I just double checked if he was just scrolling past really quickly so therefore he didn't notice, but he definitely saw that.
